Myriad Paths

Chapter 529 The Secret of Reincarnation

According to Li Qi's observations and understanding nearby, Ningma is a sect of Buddhism.

They seem to have taken on the task of spreading Buddhism around here, and people often come to spread various kinds of Buddhism. But in fact, this sect does not seem to pay attention to learning Buddhist scriptures, and has no Buddhist theories. They can even marry and have children. They seem to just study He learned simple Buddhist techniques and did not pay attention to the path.

Are these ordinary monks not paying attention to it, or is it something else?

Well... everything should wait until we find a real monk from Nyingma.

Li Qi thought this way, and after a few days, he found another village settlement.

In this settlement, Li Qi found a monk who seemed to be a real Nyingma sect.

This is also the first monk he has ever seen to reach the eighth level.

Unlike the monks in the Central Plains, this monk is wearing bright red robes and a red hat like a cockscomb, and is performing rituals.

Li Qi did not show up rashly, but waited for the other party to do something.

————————

Sakyamuni Drapa has just finished his last ritual and has now returned to his residence.

The herdsmen outside sent Sakyamuni Drapa off and said, "Thank you Living Buddha, thank you Living Buddha. We never dreamed that our ancestors would one day ascend to the Buddha's kingdom -"

Sakyamuni Drapa replied: "As long as you uphold good thoughts, think more, understand and obey the Buddha's teachings, you can ascend to the Buddha's kingdom without my salvation."

Although he said this, the herdsmen showed silly smiles, obviously thinking it was impossible.

Seeing their expressions, Sakyamuni Drapa sighed, and then said: "I won't leave for a few days. I will stay here to preach the Dharma. You can come and listen. If you can listen and enter the society, you will be promoted to the Buddhist kingdom. It’s not difficult.”

The herdsmen were overjoyed and hurriedly paid homage again, thanking them non-stop.

If someone can really realize something, then someone can become a powerful mage!

Sakyamuni Drapa pulled them up from the ground, then picked up his luggage, said goodbye to the herdsmen, and returned to the house that the herdsmen had vacated for him.

Returning to the house, he took a rest, tidied his robe and red hat, and then began his daily practice.

But I saw him making Dharma seals with his hands, first turning to the right, which means to protect himself, and then turning to the left, which means to ward off all demons.

Then point to all directions and up and down, that is, bathing, and then cooperate with the secret seal mantra.

Recite the mantra three times: "Namo Sammandobo Tuo Nanha..."

Then make a Vajra Fist with your left hand and raise the wind chakra. Do the same with your right hand, rotating it left and right, pointing to the upper and lower realms, and then recite the mantra.

Pay homage to the Buddha again and again.

Put your palms together humbly, spread and relax the two waters, turn them backwards and forwards three times, and bless everywhere.

This is his daily practice and part of worshiping the Buddha. He hopes to receive the Buddha's protection, ward off evil spirits, and clear his mind.

A whole set of rituals takes quite a long time. After he finished this, it was already dark outside.

Sakyamuni stood up again, walked to the other side, and began to cook for himself.

He is only at the eighth level, and has not yet reached the stage of fasting, so he naturally has to cook. Moreover, he takes penance as his own duty, and he is not the same type as many mages who enjoy happiness.

Those who enjoy happiness...but they really enjoy happiness. It seems that they just want to enjoy the blessings of this life, but they are not willing to think about the next reincarnation.

As a result, they may suffer in the next reincarnation...

It’s really unwise. If this is the case, when will we be able to achieve the right fruition?

Fortunately, these people are still called Living Buddhas. How can they become Buddhas if they are so unwise? Relying on the lingering shadow of the past life to achieve blessings in this life may lead to reincarnation in the animal realm in the next life.

While cooking for himself, Sakyamuni was thinking about this.

It is precisely because of understanding this that he has the motivation to always abide by his desires, guard his mind and thoughts, and make the ambition to "save one hundred thousand dead souls". The current hard training is also for this.

Today's ritual ceremony saved another deceased person. The deceased person may have fallen into the underworld, but after his salvation, he has gone to the Buddha's country. I hope that the person can achieve the results of cultivation in the Buddhist country and will not fall into the underworld and suffer.

There are still 45,962 short of the goal of 100,000.

He remembers each one clearly, and this is the foundation he plans to build for himself.

Not everyone is qualified to go to the Buddha's Kingdom. If he wants to save the other person, go to the Buddha's Kingdom, enjoy the paradise, and hear the Dharma, he has to bear the consequences of the other person's sins.

With the power of great aspirations, he gathered the kindness of hundreds of thousands of dead souls, shouldered the consequences of the sins of one hundred thousand people, and forged a seventh-grade Dao foundation.

The rice is ready, which is simply boiled mutton, plus some plant seeds and a little grain.

The Nyingma sect is very secular and does not prohibit food and drink, because their food comes from alms and they eat what others give them, so there is nothing to choose from.

Some monks who have their own property will start to be picky about their diet.

Only rich people have the right to be picky. Any fasting is actually a sign of having enough food.

In true asceticism, one never chooses to eat whatever is available.

While he was eating the mutton, suddenly, there was a knock on the door outside.

Shakya Drapa was surprised that he did not feel any breath.

Buddhism has its own unique methods of investigation. The famous six supernatural powers are the Heavenly Eyes and Heavenly Ears, which can see through all illusions, understand all things, and are also good at deduction and divination.

For these monks, their spiritual and sensory abilities are powerful.

But... after there was a knock on the door, he couldn't feel anything outside the door.

who is it? Which expert?

Doubts and worries arose in Shakya Drapa's heart, but it was impossible not to open the door, so he calmed down and said, "Who is the master?"

What Sakyamuni didn't expect was that the thing outside actually answered.

The voice and shadow replied: "I am Li Qi, who came from the southwest. I came across this place by chance and became curious, so I came to visit the Master. I have some questions that I would like to ask the Master to answer."

"It turns out you have doubts. Let's just talk about it." Shakya Draba breathed a sigh of relief and walked towards the door, ready to open the door.

If you can speak, it's good. If you can communicate, it means it's not that dangerous.

His penance requires traveling all over the country and practicing in various places. He encounters countless dangers along the way, but as long as he can talk and communicate, it is not too dangerous.

He opened the door and looked to see who was speaking outside.

However, he saw a handsome-looking young man standing outside the door, but not that handsome. He could only be described as handsome. He was a young man of average height but with a strong build.

However, the other party is definitely no longer young, at least much older than Sakyamuni Draba.

Sakyamuni Drapa is fifty years old. Although his practice is good, the hard work is still grinding, so he looks like a middle-aged man at the moment.

Although the other party was young, the look in his eyes and the aura on his body gave Sakyamuni Drapa the feeling of... those elders who had achieved Sotapanna status.

The fruit levels of Buddhism include Sotapanna, Stragami, Anagami, Arahant, Bodhisattva, and Buddha.

Sotapanna fruit means "first fruit", which means you have achieved the first results.

Those who achieve this state will never fall into the three evil paths, cut off all confusion, and formally enter the door of Buddhism. Under normal circumstances, they will have unlimited life and will not die due to physical aging.

One of his elders has achieved Sotapanna. He is now nine hundred years old, but he is still young. The eyes of that elder are similar to the man in front of him.

That is to say...

The other party is a being of level seven or above. I don't know how long he has lived, but he must be much longer than himself.

It should be level seven, right?

"Senior, do you have any doubts? Why do you come to see this young monk? A person like me who has already entered the monastery may have a profound wisdom that is beyond the reach of this young monk. If you have any doubts, how can I answer them?" Shi Shi Jazhaba said very confused.

Li Qi shook his head: "When three people are traveling together, there must be my teacher. Everyone has something that others don't know. How can such a thing as knowledge be determined by cultivation level? Okay, let's not talk about this. Since the mage is willing to explain it to me, If you are confused, I won’t be polite, but you will be rewarded afterwards, so please take it seriously.”

"Knowledge is not determined by cultivation... Ha, you are indeed a senior who has achieved wisdom. In that case, please come in." Sakyamuni Zhaba nodded slightly, as if he understood something, and then got out of the way, Let Li Qi enter the room.

Li Qi walked in and found a stool to sit down on.

Regarding Sakyamuni Drapa, he had been observing him for a few days and found that he was indeed an ordinary monk who worked seriously and was not a Zen wise monk.

After confirming this, he went to listen to Sakyamuni Draba's sermons, which also talked about the righteous method rather than the evil method. It can be seen that it has nothing to do with the devil.

After doing these tests, he took the initiative to knock on the door and visit the other party, wanting to ask why this land in the Western Heaven was so backward.

There is not even a farming civilization, and many of them are matrilineal clans, walk in marriage, and live a life of chasing water and grass. This level of civilization is simply worse than that of the ninth-level world.

So, after Li Qi sat down, his first question was this. He asked: "Is Xitian unattended? What are the Buddhas doing? Why are they so backward, with so many mortals and so many settlements, but no one is there? "Teaching the Dharma, what's going on? Does the Master know the reason?"

Hearing Li Qi's question, Sakyamuni Zapa frowned: "Is there any problem with this? The young monk doesn't quite understand what the senior means."

"I heard that the Buddhas in the West are compassionate. This is true," Li Qi explained.

"This is natural. Enlightened people are compassionate and have equal goodwill towards all things in the world. But what does this have to do with the predecessor's question?" Shakya Drapa asked in return.

"If you really have compassion, why don't you teach the Dharma? Why do you let them suffer so much? Look at the herdsmen outside, who are worried about three meals a day, trapped by the wind and frost, and are as confused as cattle and horses. Xitian has enough power to make them If you listen to the true Dharma, you can avoid this suffering, but why not do this?" Li Qi asked.

Wushenshan no longer cares about the people under its rule and lets you develop, but it still maintains the power of the great source of heaven and earth. The ordinary people under Wushenshan are all gifted. After a little practice, they can reach the top level. Just like eating, there are as many practitioners as there are spirits.

And how can Buddhism, which embraces compassion, do worse than Wushen Mountain? This place is purely a wasteland, not only a desert of life, but also a desert of practice.

Hearing Li Qi's question, Sakyamuni Drapa suddenly asked: "If they are allowed to be born in a Buddhist country, naturally enjoy the seven treasures and three beauties, and teach them the Buddha's Dharma, then... does that count as mercy?"

Li Qi was stunned.

Indeed, if we let these people live a life that is the same as humaneness, or even better, would that be considered mercy?

But Li Qi still asked: "If that is not compassionate, is this situation compassionate? I think that in this world, no matter what the path, suffering will not be regarded as compassion. ?”

"Really? Senior has achieved immortality. He must be quite old. I wonder if he has any heirs?" Shakya Draba asked.

"I have an heir." Li Qi nodded, and Li Shiwei's face appeared in his mind.

This made him smile uncontrollably.

Looking at Li Qi's expression, Sakyamuni Draba asked again: "Senior, will your descendants endure hardship? Is such suffering a sign of favor or malice?"

"How can this be mixed together? The love for the heir cannot develop into doting, so he needs to endure hardships. Essentially, it is for the future of the heir. But these people have no future at all. They die very quickly. They are born like this. , It remains the same when it dies, growing one after another, just like weeds, growing and dying," Li Qi explained.

When he said that these people were like weeds, Shakya Draba noticed that the senior in front of him was not angry, but simply stated his concept.

This made Shakya Drapa realize that the other party did not think that it was very special for people to become weeds. Perhaps to this senior, the suffering of these people was not important. The reason why he asked was just because he wanted to Doesn’t make sense.

Buddhism clearly claims to be compassionate, so why do we treat these people like weeds?

"Senior is... a shaman?" Shakya Draba asked.

"You have good eyesight. Indeed, I am a witch." Li Qi nodded and admitted directly.

Sakyamuni suddenly realized that the other party did behave like a witch.

For witches, weeds are a part of nature. Whether they are people, insects, or plants, there is always something that acts as a weed. They will only think it is normal and will not feel anything. .

Wu Jin's compassion never takes things for granted, just like a documentary director would not interfere if he saw a seal being killed by a killer whale.

"It doesn't matter what orthodoxy I am, what matters is the current question, why does Buddhism do this?" Li Qi didn't care about that, but asked.

"Senior is a witch, so naturally he has no idea about this. After all, in the witch's view, after a person dies, he is thrown into reincarnation. For a witch, it is like a fallen leaf returning to its roots, a natural cycle. However... Buddhism thinks that is not the case." Shi Shi Gazaba said so.

Li Qi blinked: "Oh? How do you say this?"

"Senior said before that these mortals are just like weeds, born and destroyed, dying constantly, but death is not the end."

Hearing this, Li Qi took a deep breath.

He got it.

Infinite reincarnations! The lives of these mortals are also unlimited!
