Mentor Calvin looked solemn. He tapped his fingers angrily at the table, trying to pull the figure of mentee Thorild out of his memory. He was a smart child with extraordinary talent in magic. But now, he could not find any trace of him.

"Calvin, what are you looking for?" Dorothea opened the door, and a fresh breeze blew in. Her blonde hair shone slightly under the light, and she had an innocent smile on her face, as if she could easily handle anything that happened.

"He disappeared." Calvin's voice was low, and his brows revealed uneasiness. "I want to use spiritual coordinates to search for him, but--"

"You can't do this." Dorot interrupted him immediately, a firm light flashing in his eyes. "You know, the mental coordinates will interfere with his thinking. If he is found in a bad state, the consequences will be disastrous."

"But we can't just sit there and wait for death!" Calvin raised his voice a few notches, and in a hurry he clenched his fists, "If he is really in danger..."

Dorothea sighed helplessly, walked over to Calvin, and gently placed her hand on his shoulder. Her movements were gentle but firm, "Calvin, I understand your concerns. Torilde sometimes gets lost, but this is also part of his growth. We need to give him some time and space."

"But time may no longer be our friend." Calvin looked out the window, and through the dense shadows of the trees, he seemed to see a lonely figure wandering in the shadows. Was it Thorild? Or was it the anxiety deep in his heart that was causing trouble?

Dorot sensed his mood swings and moved a little closer, "We can try other methods. Maybe go to Lake Tyr. He likes to stay there."

"Lake Tyr?" Calvin hesitated. "That place is connected to a lot of magical energy. Be careful."

"Are you saying I can't go?" Dorothea raised his eyebrows playfully and showed a naughty smile, "I am an experienced adventurer! Come with me, let's get out of this dark room and let the sunshine fill our hearts."

Calvin shook his head helplessly and tried to force a smile. "Okay, you win. But we must be careful."

The two quickly packed up their things and walked out of the college gate. The air outside was fresh and cool, and the sun shone all over the campus. Calvin took a deep breath, feeling the long-lost sense of freedom, and the tension in his heart slowly subsided.

Walking on the green campus path, Dorot chatted with Calvin about the interesting things in yesterday's class, trying to ease his anxiety through a relaxed atmosphere. However, Calvin's mind could not get away from Torild's disappearance, although he tried hard to turn his attention to every word of Dorot.

"You know, Mary in our class did a hilarious magic experiment yesterday, and her magic crystal actually exploded in class." Dorothea told Calvin with excitement in her eyes.

"Really?" Calvin reluctantly responded, but he was still worried about Torild's safety. They soon reached the shore of Lake Tyr, where the water reflected the blue sky like a mirror, and the shadows of the trees around them swayed, forming a beautiful picture.

"Look, there seems to be some waves on the lake." Dorothea's voice pulled Calvin back to his senses. She walked closer to the lake, scooped up a handful of water, and observed it carefully, but her mind had already relaxed.

Calvin looked at the lake and felt a strange wave. He became alert. "Dorot, I feel a strong magical wave. This is not an ordinary water wave."

"Do you think this is a trace left by Thorild?" Dorot looked around with a hint of expectation in his eyes.

"I'm not sure." Calvin frowned, "But this place is one of his favorite places. He might have been here... or even had an accident here."

"We should investigate further." Dorothea's eyes were determined as he began to patrol the lakeside carefully.

After walking a few steps, Calvin suddenly stopped, his face becoming extremely solemn. He stretched out his hand and pointed in a certain direction of the lake, where something seemed to be floating. "Look, over there..."

A faint whisper reached their ears, along with the ripples on the lake, as if conveying some unspeakable message.

"Torield!" Dorothea exclaimed, his heart trembling, "We have to hurry over!"

Calvin instinctively pulled her back, "Wait a minute, we have to be careful. I can't risk you coming into contact with any unknown source of magic."

"But we can't give up on his clues!" Dorothea's eyes were determined, eager to move forward bravely.

He took a deep breath and finally gave in. They walked forward cautiously, their steps were soft as if they were walking on thin ice, not daring to make any noise.

The lake water was particularly eye-catching under the sunlight. Near the lake, a group of white water elves were playing, and the water rippled with a mysterious glow.

"Water elf!" Dorothea exclaimed softly, with curiosity flashing in his eyes.

"Be careful with them, they might misunderstand the outside world," Calvin warned in a low voice, his eyes always fixed on the water elves.

The whispers of the water spirits gradually became clearer, as if they were singing some ancient song. Calvin and Dorothea moved closer involuntarily, wanting to listen more carefully.

"Torield!" As the lake swayed, a vague figure gradually emerged, as if being pulled out by the waves. Dorot's heart tightened suddenly.

"This is--" Her voice almost trembled.

"Torield!" Calvin's heart tightened, and he tried to use magic fluctuations to connect with Torild's soul.

"Don't disturb him!" Dorot grabbed Calvin's hand and said in a low but urgent voice, "After all, he is communicating with the water elves. They may know his whereabouts."

After a few moments of tacit silence, Calvin finally breathed a sigh of relief. He realized that Dorot was right, it seemed that Thorild was communicating with the lake through the dance of the water elves. His eyes gradually relaxed, trying to get more information.
