The most powerful wizard in the magic world

Chapter 244 The Ideal Realized

Gados lost an arm in the bloody fight, and blood gushed out. His hanging hand twisted in pain, and his cheek was twisted in pain. Dorot rushed into the battlefield like a flash of lightning, quickly protected Gados in his arms, stared at the enemies around him, and whispered: "Stay calm, don't be afraid, I'm here."

Gados's vision was a little blurry, and he could still hear the roar of the battle. He forced a smile and said, "Dorot, you are always so timely." His voice was weak but full of gratitude.

"Stop talking," Dorot said firmly, holding onto Gados' shoulders with both hands, "We need to retreat. Your injuries are serious, and you can't stay here any longer."

The battle around him was still fierce, accompanied by roars, the sound of metal colliding, and the smell of blood. The air was filled with an unbearable heat. Gados struggled to stand up, but he felt extremely weak because of the loss of his arm. His palm touched his empty wrist and felt a weak pain.

"Don't move, I'll help you." Dorot said loudly, trying to lift up Gados' body. Although the situation seemed critical, there was always a trace of calm on his face. "We can find a safe place, you have to trust me."

Gados closed his eyes, his mind flashing back to past training and adventures, those moments fighting alongside Dorot, that fearless feeling suddenly became blurry, but a terrible roar came from all around, interrupting his thoughts.

"Left! Quick!" Dorot pushed Gados aside and dodged the enemy's attack. His heartbeat quickened and his eyes remained alert, ready to meet the enemy at any time.

Gardos's breathing began to become rapid. Although he was protected by Dorot, he could not suppress the fear and anger in his heart: "We can't give up like this! I will die in this battle. We can't let them succeed."

"Gados, listen to me!" Dorot's voice was as firm as a boulder. "Your life is more important than this battle. Only if you stay alive can you fight for more opportunities. Remember, our goal is survival, not sacrifice."

Before he finished speaking, several more enemies rushed towards them. Dorot stabbed with his sword without hesitation, quickly retracted it, took the opportunity to pull Gados up, and fled to a hidden corner. The two ran all the way, the sound of the wind in their ears covered their words, until they found a temporary safe place, they were able to stop.

The surroundings were quiet, with only their rapid breathing echoing in the air. Dorot held onto the wall, lowered his head, and tried to calm down in this crisis-ridden moment. He took a deep breath, raised his head, and locked his eyes on Gados: "Are you feeling better?"

Gados clenched his teeth, his clenched fingers trembling slightly: "Dorot, my arm... I know what I have lost." He paused, hesitant in his heart, but unwilling to show his weakness, "We can't retreat like this."

"What you need now is treatment, not a fight." Dorot's tone was still gentle, but it left no room for doubt. "If a fight is necessary, I will never let you get hurt again."

After hearing this, Gados' heart tightened. He knew that Dorot's insistence was to protect him, but he didn't want to be a burden. Suddenly, his eyes became firm and his tone became tough: "I will not abandon my comrades. I will fight for our goal! No matter what!"

Dorot looked at Gados and was shocked. He knew the young man's perseverance and courage, but Gados was no longer the same person he was back then, and he had to face a different reality. "I admire your courage, but you must prioritize your own safety now. Our goal has not changed, and the enemy will not slack off because of this."

"Do you think this battle is worth it?" Gados suddenly asked, looking directly at Dorot. "We paid such a high price for victory. I want to know, what are we pursuing?"

These words made Dorot stunned, not knowing how to respond. He understood that victory is often accompanied by sacrifice, and every decision means loss and gain, and Gados has lost more now.

"We..." Dorot said slowly, "We are pursuing freedom and dignity. But only by staying alive can all this become possible."

"I understand what you mean." Gados' eyes gradually softened, "I will try to remain calm, but I feel helpless at the moment of loss."

"Then let me help you." Dorot stretched out his hand to him and smiled. "Perhaps we can stabilize the situation first, and then plan the next step together."

Gados looked at the pair of firm and powerful hands, and finally felt some peace in his heart. He gently held Dorot's hand, as a response, "I will work hard, together."

At this moment, a noisy sound came from afar, and the intensity of the battle seemed to be intensifying. Dorot frowned slightly, stood up quickly, and looked straight ahead: "We must leave here and find a safer place."

Gardos nodded. Although the pain still lingered in him, he felt the surging power in his heart. "Okay, I will follow you."

They moved quietly, trying to conceal each other's breath. In the dim corner, like two shadows, they blended into the surrounding environment. As Gados walked, he recalled every detail of the battle. The shock and betrayal seemed to still emerge in his mind. He could feel Dorot's footsteps beside him, never leaving.

They stopped at a bright exit. A faint light shone from the distant sky, shining on their faces, like a smile of hope.

"Is it safe here?" Gados asked in a low voice. Although he still felt uneasy, his desire for the future made him feel a little excited.

"It's OK for now." Dorot narrowed his eyes and stared ahead. "But we must find others as soon as possible."

"The others...those comrades." Gados' heart tightened. He thought of the days and nights they had spent together, and of the comrades who had fought alongside him, but his real fear was the feeling of powerlessness about the unknown tomorrow.

"I know what you're thinking." Dorot looked at him, as if he could read his mind. "Loss is painful, and everyone is paying the price for it. But you have to believe that we must live on, for those who have left, and for the ideals we have yet to realize."
