After a fierce battle, he finally found the loot in the narrow passage. The bodies of three wizard apprentices were piled together, and some broken magic items were scattered around, which seemed to be silently telling the story of their past.

"These poor fellows." Kelly squatted down and gently lifted the cloak of one of the corpses, with a complicated expression on her face. "They wanted to master more powerful magic, but in the end they only got this kind of fate."

"This is the path they chose." Gellin glanced around and picked up a worn black dagger. He held it in his hand. Although the dagger was broken, it still exuded a hint of eerie chill. "It seems that they did not use the magic items to their full potential."

Iger bent down and found another object - a broken silver hand. He shook it vigorously, and the fragments flickered faintly in the sun. "What is this? A hand? It looks like some kind of magic tool." He frowned, as if thinking about the use of this object.

"This is a projection palm, usually used to cast illusions or transmit signals." Gerlin tried his best to ignore the damage on the back of the palm, thinking about its potential value. "It's a pity that this palm is damaged. I don't know if it can be repaired."

"If it can be repaired, it means new opportunities!" Kelly's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Perhaps we can get some intelligence about the enemy or find other hidden items."

"But how do we repair it?" Eagle's tone was filled with worry. "We don't have the right tools. Returning to the headquarters is a good option."

Gerlin put down his silver hand and continued to look at the items on the ground. On the other side, he noticed a half-length silver chain, which was gleaming with a faint luster and seemed to retain some traces of magic. "This chain may be a tool for binding a magical creature, or it may have other uses."

"Do you think this chain might be used to seal some kind of creature?" Kelly leaned over again and observed the state of the chain. "If this creature is still alive, can we use it?"

"I'm not sure." Gerlin shook his head, thinking about the origin of the chains. "But since they tried to use these items, it means there must be a bigger secret here. We must be careful not to forget the origin of these things."

"So, what should we do?" Eagle asked, his emotions gradually rising. As a combatant in the team, he was tired of simple charging and wanted to participate in deeper planning and decision-making.

"We have suffered too much loss in the fighting during this period. What we need most is not blind advance, but infiltration and investigation." Kelly said rationally, "We might as well take these broken items back and wait for the command from the headquarters to see if we can use our detour to break the trap set by the enemy."

"That makes sense." Gerlin nodded seriously. After thinking for a moment, he made up his mind: "Then it's decided. The longer we stay here, the more dangerous it will be. Take these things, find a safe place deep in the secret realm to rest, and then drive back."

The three of them searched the surroundings carefully again to make sure that nothing was left behind, and then quickly gathered and left the wreckage of the wizard's apprentice. They carefully shuttled through the secret realm, awakening the long-silent shadows with their footsteps.

As they went deeper into the secret realm, more and more complex runes and magical auras surrounded them. Gerlin suddenly stopped, raised his head, and stared at the dark passage ahead.

"Will our gazes trigger something?" He spoke in a low voice, with vigilance evident in his eyes. "These secret realms may hide a power more powerful than we imagined."

"I was thinking, if we can find the source of these runes, maybe we can deduce some secrets of the abyss." Kelly turned her head, her eyes flashing with deep thought, "If we can really master this power, we can fight against the enemy."

"The power of the abyss may give us new abilities, but we cannot predict the price we have to pay." Gerling spread his arms, his expression became deep, and he said seriously, "We must carefully evaluate and not pursue blindly."

Eagle's eyes widened, his face full of curiosity and doubt: "But even those wizard apprentices use this as a source of power. Shouldn't we try to make a choice?"

"Perhaps not, but this battle has reminded us that power must be used with caution." Gerling continued, "If we use it, we may be able to avoid falling into the same mistake again."

Kelly nodded and took a deep breath, seeming to have made a decision. "I will continue to explore and try to gain a deeper understanding of the secret realm, hoping to find more information."

"Okay, then we will split up." Gerlin thought silently, but did not object and continued to move forward. His urge to explore deeper was also aroused. The three of them carefully moved towards the depths of the secret realm and each took action.

A damp air filled the passage, and dark shadows moved around like ghosts. From time to time, faint echoes could be heard, as if some unknown creature was lurking.

"This place makes me feel uneasy." Iger muttered in a low voice, his heart filled with unspeakable fear. "I prefer to defeat the enemy directly, rather than entangled in this place full of hidden dangers."

"We must find a way out first." Gerling suppressed his inner anxiety and tried to keep himself calm. "The secret here may be related to our greater mission. If we can find the portal, we may be able to return to the headquarters faster."

"I will look for it carefully." Kelly responded with a hint of determination in her tone. She began to use the magic tools in her hands to try to identify the runes that kept changing in the shadows. After a while, her eyes suddenly lit up: "There are a lot of runes here... These words look like some kind of summoning spell!"

"Summoning spell?" When Eagle heard this word, he turned around immediately, with a trace of fear on his face, "Could it be some kind of curse?"

"It could be, or it could be a clue that we need to pay close attention to." Gerling analyzed patiently, "If we can really find the source, it might help us understand the enemy's intentions."
