Hogwarts's Master of Mind

Chapter 42: Sensation, Industry, and the Ministry of Magic

Professor Flitwick's experiment was actually to observe dark magic intuitively in a hazy fantasy.

Dark magic can be regarded as one of the types of magic that the wizarding world is currently exploring the most in the spiritual realm.

Unfortunately, the experiment did not achieve much success. After all, Dumbledore and his old lover had probably done many experiments in Twilight Zone.

On the other hand, ever since Aiden's last paper was published, the Daily Prophet has been openly and covertly attacking Aiden.

A top reporter whose name is unknown even wrote five consecutive commentary articles, the richness of the content and the breadth of the speculations opened Aiden's eyes.

The reporter wrote in the article that Dumbledore, who was in his twilight years, was unwilling to give up his power, so he decided to elect a spokesman to inherit his political reputation.

This was his attempt at a personal comeback, and he called on the Ministry of Magic to stop his ambitions.

Afterwards, the joint communiqué of the masters severely slapped the face of the Daily Prophet. Of course, this communiqué also caused a sensation in the magical world.

"It's a waste of talent for this guy not to write The Quibbler," Aiden complained.

"Rita Quister, how could this guy slander Dumbledore like this?" Ethan couldn't understand.

"Maybe I learned it from studying journalism," Oliver complained.

Aiden?_? 'Have you Muggles figured out the internet yet?'

"Normal. They earn money by attracting attention. The financial backers behind the Daily Prophet are pure-blood families. They have been unhappy with Dumbledore for a long time."

Edmund took a bite of bread and slowly threw a bomb.

"Actually, my family has a share in this business, and Aiden, your family also has one."

"My home!??" Aiden was a little bit unbelievable. "Why didn't I know?"

“When the Daily Prophet was first established, we invested in it. We made a special contract and the proceeds were sent directly into the coffers of each company.

Don't look at me like that. This is how wizarding families are. Everyone has their hands in various industries. The only one who has voluntarily stepped out is the Weasley family.

But they have taken power over the Ministry."

Edmund stated the cruel truth calmly.

"Can I exercise my shareholder rights to shut up this reporter who talks nonsense?" Aiden asked.

“It’s difficult, you need allies. After all, the share held by Prewitt is not very large, and your family’s main base is in alchemical products.

The Burke family wanted to get involved in the alchemy industry, but the result was obvious: they were forced into Knockturn Alley."

Edmund continued to reveal the truth.

"What about my family's business? Is it still operating?" Aiden was a little curious.

"Of course, we operate under contract, so we don't usually need much management."

Edmund rolled his eyes, seeming surprised that Aiden knew nothing about this.

"Forget it. I'll go back and sort out my family's business when I have time. It's too early for me now." Aiden said helplessly.

The two roommates at the side had their eyes shining, probably thinking about how to make a fortune from these two wealthy men.

At noon, people from the Ministry of Magic came to the school.

Cornelius Fudge was a bald, short, fat man dressed in expensive, well-tailored formal wear.

He rose to power after Millicent Barnold retired, by creating the image of being under Dumbledore's command.

And now, this ambitious man is seeking to break free from Dumbledore's influence.

The person in charge of receiving visitors from the Ministry of Magic was Professor McGonagall. Her cold face and businesslike attitude made the politician feel a little embarrassed.

Fudge took out a handkerchief to wipe the sweat off his face, and soon he was led by Professor McGonagall to the headmaster's office on the eighth floor.

In the headmaster's office, Aiden and Dumbledore had been waiting for a long time.

"Let the other party wait and highlight my authority. Very good, come on, Cornelius." A minister thought to himself.

"Long time no see, Cornelius, and everyone from the Ministry of Magic, come and have a seat and try the drinks I prepared for you."

A certain principal who was an expert at Legilimency had already read the information he wanted.

He pulled out his wand and conjured up a drink, the powerful magic making everyone in the Ministry feel a little uncomfortable.

And a certain unknown psychologist directly read minds on a large scale, with his pupils becoming vertical, ready for intimidation.

"Long time no see, Dumbledore."

Cold sweat ran down Fudge's face. He frowned and tried hard to maintain his dignity.

"Indeed, since you became the minister, our 'friendship' has been fading."

There was a gleam in Dumbledore's deep blue eyes, and had the Minister been knowledgeable enough to recognize it as magic.

"Well, there is nothing I can do. The Ministry of Magic is busy with many things. Oh, and I am here to visit you for official business."

Fudge quickly changed the subject.

"Oh, this must be Aiden Prewett, another outstanding member of the Sacred Twenty-Eight."

"Hello, Minister Fudge. I have long heard of you."

Aiden greeted him politely and gave this fool a hint.

With Aiden's exquisite appearance and abilities, Fudge's affection for Aiden gradually increased.

'An excellent little wizard, and most importantly, he respects my authority. ' A minister thought.

"Oh~, no need to be so polite, we are here today for the evaluation of the Order of Merlin.

After our professional evaluation, this spell is indeed effective against the Unforgivable Curse. On behalf of the Ministry of Magic, I would like to thank the Prewett family for their contribution."

"This idiot actually thought that I was taking out the family magic, right? Am I a loser in his eyes?" Aiden rolled his eyes.

"Oh, thank you very much for the Minister's recognition. This is what I should do." Aiden still bowed slightly to Fudge.

"Oh, good boy, go ahead and do your work. I still have some things to discuss with Dumbledore." Fudge dismissed.

Aiden nodded and left the principal's office.

"Dumbledore, is this spell the result of this child's research? Have you begun to embezzle the property of those families? Are you worthy of the sacrifices made by the Prewetts?"

Fudge accused Aiden harshly. In his eyes, Aiden was just a puppet pushed out by Dumbledore to seize power, and he even had to bring his own food.

Fudge's obsession with power had long blinded his eyes, and due to his incompetence, he always regarded Dumbledore as his biggest enemy in his political career.

"Of course it's the child's achievement, don't you believe in the endorsements of those masters?

Besides, who is it that embezzled these family properties, me or the Ministry of Magic?"

Dumbledore calmly threw the question back.

Seeing the two of them getting on edge, the Ministry of Magic staff hurried to stop them.

"Minister, we are here today on official business."

Fudge found the steps and followed them.

"Well, in view of Aiden Prewett's outstanding contributions, the Ministry of Magic will nominate him to the Wizengamot and award Aiden Prewett the Order of Merlin, Second Class."
