Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 174 Victor's Heartbeat

On Saturday morning, sunlight poured into the entrance hall through the windows of Hogwarts Castle, casting mottled shadows on the ancient stone walls.

Salina happily arranged her clothes, preparing to take Viktor to familiarize herself with the Hogwarts campus.

Through the lounge window, she looked towards the direction of Black Lake. Durmstrang's large ship was still anchored there, the dark hull looming in the morning mist, like a silent ghost, carrying a hint of mystery and an indescribable sense of oppression.

Taking her eyes off the subject, Salina turned to the hallway, where Viktor was already waiting.

He was tall and looked somewhat cute squatting in the corner of the hallway, seemingly deep in thought.

Noticing Salina's arrival, Victor quickly stood up. Perhaps because he had been squatting for too long, he was unstable when he stood up and almost fell forward.

Salina quickly reached out to support him, but due to inertia, both of them fell to the ground.

The sudden close contact stunned both Salina and Victor. The distance between them was instantly shortened and they could hear each other's breathing clearly.

Viktor could feel Serena's warm breath on his cheek, with a hint of fragrance.

The atmosphere became subtle at this moment, tense yet with a hint of indescribable ambiguity.

A blush appeared on Salina's cheeks, and she quickly let go of Viktor's arm and tried to stand up.

However, she was so flustered that she accidentally stepped on the corner of her robe and lost her balance again.

Victor quickly stretched out his arms, put his arms around Salina's waist and held her steadily.

This time, the distance between them was closer, and Salina could even feel the heat coming from Viktor's chest.

As their eyes met, Salina's heartbeat accelerated involuntarily, and she seemed to be able to hear the sound of her own blood rushing.

Serena's panicked expression was reflected in Viktor's deep eyes. His eyes were gentle and focused, as if time had stopped at this moment.

Salina felt her cheeks getting hotter and hotter. She looked away in panic, not daring to look Viktor in the eye again.

She gently pushed Viktor away and whispered, "I'm fine, thank you."

Only then did Victor realize that he was still holding Salina's waist. He quickly let go of her hand and a blush appeared on his face.

"No, it's my fault," he said awkwardly, "I didn't stand firmly and made you fall."

Salina shook her head, "I don't blame you."

They were all in awkward silence for a moment.

Salina was the first to break the silence, "We should set off, where do you want to go first?"

"It's all up to you." Viktor said, "I'm curious about everything about Hogwarts."

Salina smiled and began to show Viktor around Hogwarts.

They walked through ancient corridors, through spacious classrooms, and visited the Gryffindor common room and the Quidditch pitch.

Victor was interested in everything and kept asking Salina various questions.

Salina patiently answered his questions, and as the visit progressed, the initial awkwardness between them gradually dissipated and the atmosphere returned to normal.

"Shall we go to Hogsmeade together?" Viktor suggested as they passed by the Black Lake. "I want to taste the butterbeer."

"Okay," Salina agreed readily, "But don't you have any other plans today?"

"I'll give you all my time today." Victor replied seriously.

Salina looked at Viktor steadily. They stared at each other for a few seconds and suddenly realized that they were too close to each other. Viktor's cheeks flushed and Salina felt her heart beating faster.

In order to hide her embarrassment, Salina looked around and found that they had unknowingly walked into a secluded grove on the side of the castle, and there was no one around.

The close distance allowed Salina to clearly see her blushing face reflected in Viktor's deep eyes. His gentle eyes seemed to carry magic that made her unable to look away.

Victor's heartbeat also quickened. With Serena right in front of him, his breathing became a little rapid. He couldn't help but want to reach out and touch her cheek to feel the softness and warmth.

Just then, a rustling sound came from not far away, breaking the ambiguous atmosphere.

They all turned their heads at the same time and saw Hagrid hiding behind a big tree, awkwardly adjusting his bow tie and combing his messy hair and beard with his hands from time to time.

He appeared to have dressed carefully for his upcoming date, wearing what he considered to be the most respectable clothes - a brown tweed coat, which, although still stained with hay and dirt, was the cleanest piece in his wardrobe.

Hagrid then walked towards the Beauxbatons carriage, indicating that he was going to look for Madame Maxime.

Salina and Viktor looked at each other and couldn't help laughing.

The throbbing in the two people's hearts also dissipated a lot with the laughter. Salina took a step back without leaving a trace, increasing the distance between herself and Viktor.

The fact that Hegrid was dating Madame Maxime diluted the subtle ambiguous atmosphere between the two.

They didn't mention going to Hogsmeade again, and Viktor gentlemanly sent Salina back to the castle.

In the evening, Salina was reading by the fireplace in the Gryffindor common room. Colin ran in breathlessly and said, "Salina! Go to the entrance hall! People have started to put their names into the Goblet of Fire!"

Salina closed the book and quickly followed Colin to the hallway.

By this time, the Durmstrang students had already left, leaving only thirty or so Hogwarts students gathered around the age limit, curiously watching the Goblet of Fire.

The auditorium was filled with noise, and Salina and Colin finally squeezed into the crowd and came to the age limit.

The Goblet of Fire was placed on a tall pedestal, surrounded by glittering gold lines that formed the age boundaries into a regular circle.

Harry, Ron and Hermione also arrived at this time, and the three of them greeted Salina breathlessly.

"It's so exciting, isn't it?" Colin rubbed his hands excitedly, "I wonder who will be the Warriors this year?"

Hermione's expression was a little serious. "I bet that someone will ignore Professor Dumbledore's warning and try to use some tricks to participate in the competition."

As soon as she finished speaking, Fred, George and Lee Jordan pushed their way excitedly to the front of the crowd, with Fred holding a bottle of strange liquid in his hand.
