Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 164 Moody's Classroom

The next morning, sunlight poured into the auditorium through the stained glass windows, casting brilliant spots of light on the long table.

The air was filled with the aroma of baking bread and frying bacon, but these tempting smells did not seem to attract the attention of the students, who were all discussing the Triwizard Tournament enthusiastically.

"Oh! This time the prize is a full 1,000 Galleons!"

“I wish I could participate!”

"Stop dreaming, you can't even get past the age limit!"

Noisy sounds echoed in the hall, but Salina didn't seem to be very interested in the upcoming event. She was sitting around a table with Ginny and Hermione, carefully studying the class schedule on the parchment.

"Potions is scheduled for Friday afternoon, right after Defense Against the Dark Arts." Salina used a quill to lightly mark Ginny's schedule, and the golden ink left clear marks on the parchment. "This way we can go to the library together to review."

"Great!" Ginny clapped her hands happily. "I hate having to go to the library alone after Defense Against the Dark Arts class. It always feels spooky."

Hermione raised her head, glanced at Ginny, then looked at Serena, and couldn't help but smiled and shook her head: "You two are always inseparable. If someone doesn't know, they would think you are sisters!"

Serena followed Hermione's gaze and looked at Ginny, and a smile appeared on the corner of her mouth.

Ginny's little face turned red for some unknown reason, making her look even more charming.

At this moment, a brown owl flapped its wings and landed next to Harry's plate, interrupting their conversation.

"It's your letter, Harry," said Ron, pointing to the small package tied to the owl's leg. "It looks like it's from Sirius."

Harry could not wait to unpack the package and found a thick leather-bound book inside. There was no text or pattern on the cover of the book, only a small silver buckle.

He opened the clasp out of curiosity, and the pages of the book automatically turned, revealing the densely packed words and pictures inside.

"Wow! This should be a magic book!" Ron leaned forward curiously, "What are the pictures on it? It looks so cool!"

Harry ignored Ron and turned the pages of the book one by one, with a look of surprise gradually appearing on his face.

He knew that this was a gift from Sirius, a magic notebook on defense.

"Thank you, Godfather," Harry whispered, his eyes twinkling with gratitude.

He knew that Sirius had always cared for him and tried his best to help him improve his magical skills so that he could better protect himself.

……

The Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom was full of people, and everyone was looking forward to Professor Moody's first class.

Professor Moody has a rugged charm. His magical eye, scarred face, and clanking sound when he walks make students curious about him.

"Okay, kids, put away your textbooks!" Professor Moody said in his hoarse voice, scanning the entire classroom with his magic eye, "Today we are going to be practical!"

The students looked at each other in bewilderment, but still did as they were told.

They closed their textbooks one after another and waited curiously for the professor's next instructions.

Professor Moody looked around the classroom and began to call the roll.

Names came out of Professor Moody's mouth one by one until all the students had registered.

"Very good," Professor Moody nodded with satisfaction. "Now, who can tell me which spells are expressly prohibited by the Ministry of Magic and which will be subject to the most severe punishment if used?"

There was silence in the classroom. The students looked at each other, seemingly stumped by this question.

"Why, no one knows?" Professor Moody raised his voice.

Ginny took a deep breath and raised her hands. "The Imperius Curse."

"Very good, Miss Weasley!" Professor Moody looked at Ginny with appreciation, "That's right, the Imperius Curse! Can anyone tell me what the Imperius Curse does?"

"It can control other people's will," Ginny replied, "making them do exactly what you want."

"Absolutely right!" Professor Moody said, grabbing a big hairy spider from the podium. "The Imperius Curse is a very evil spell. It can make a person completely lose himself and become a puppet of the caster! Moreover, it is very difficult to resist. Once you are hit, there is almost no room for resistance. Therefore, you must always be vigilant!"

As he spoke, Professor Moody waved his wand and a beam of green light hit the spider.

The spider's body trembled violently, and then it became motionless.

"What else?" Professor Moody looked around the classroom. "What other spells are there?"

This time, it was the Slytherin students who answered the question first.

"The Cruciatus Curse!"

"Killing Curse!"

Professor Moody demonstrated the power of these two spells separately.

Under the effect of the Cruciatus Curse, the spider's body twitched violently, as if it was enduring great pain; and the Killing Curse was even more terrifying. A green light flashed, and the spider died instantly without any room for struggle.

There were screams of terror in the classroom as the students were terrified by the cruel scene.

Salina couldn't help but feel a chill down her spine. She could clearly feel that the killing curse was not only aimed at the body, but also an attack on the soul and vitality. Once hit, there was almost no chance of survival.

"Remember, kids," Professor Moody looked around the classroom and said in a serious tone, "There is no breaking spell for the Killing Curse. Once you are hit, there is almost no chance of survival. So, you must be extremely careful in the future!"

He paused, then added, "Of course, with your current level, even if you cast a spell on me, the most you can do is make my nose bleed."

……

The Transfiguration classroom was filled with chattering discussions. The Transfiguration homework assigned by Professor McGonagall was to turn a teapot into a turtle.

This remains a rather challenging spell for many students.

Taking a deep breath, Salina raised her wand, tapped the teapot gently, and muttered: "Transfiguration spell!"

As the spell was completed, the teapot began to tremble, and ripples of magic spread across its porcelain surface.

In a flash, the spout shrank back, the body of the pot swelled up, limbs emerged from the bottom, and the lid turned into a smiling little turtle head.

In a matter of seconds, a perfect, if slightly too rounded, little turtle replaced the teapot and crawled awkwardly across the table.

"Well done, Miss Swinburne," Professor McGonagall nodded approvingly as she passed by, her sharp eyes noting the precision and speed with which Salina cast the spell, "It looks like someone has been practicing hard."

Serena patted the little turtle's head gently, and it blinked happily and stretched its neck to want more caressing.
