Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 163 Excited Students

Headmaster Dumbledore cleared his throat and said in his resonant voice: "Children, please allow me to introduce you to Professor Alastor Moody, who will be your new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher."

"Mad-Eye Moody..." Someone in the crowd whispered. The name seemed to carry some ominous omen, making the students even more uneasy.

"As you all know," Headmaster Dumbledore continued, his eyes sweeping across the hall as if he could read everyone's mind, "the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts has always been... unstable. But I believe that Professor Moody, with his rich experience and outstanding abilities, will be able to take on this job."

Professor Moody snorted gruffly in response to Dumbledore's introduction.

His one eye kept turning in its socket, as if searching for something, making people afraid to look him in the face.

"Also," Headmaster Dumbledore raised his voice, with a hint of excitement in his tone, "I have good news to announce! This year, the Triwizard Tournament will be held at our Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!"

As soon as these words were spoken, the whole auditorium suddenly became lively.

The students cheered excitedly and talked to each other about this grand event.

"Quiet! Quiet!" Headmaster Dumbledore had to raise his voice to calm the hall. "I know you are all looking forward to this game. But before you get too excited, I must remind you that the Triwizard Tournament is a very dangerous game."

He paused, his expression becoming serious, "As you all know, the Triwizard Tournament is a friendly competition between the three major magic schools in Europe - Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang. However, due to some accidents in the past competitions that resulted in the unfortunate deaths of contestants, this event has been suspended for many years."

"However," Headmaster Dumbledore said firmly, "the Ministry of Magic believes that it is time to revive this tradition! Of course, we will take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the contestants."

"This October, the headmasters of Beauxbatons School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and Durmstrang School of Witchcraft and Wizardry will lead their students to Hogwarts. On Halloween night, we will hold a special ceremony to select three warriors to represent their respective schools in the competition."

Headmaster Dumbledore looked around with a smile on his face. "I believe you will win glory for your school! The winner will not only win honor for the school, but also receive a prize of one thousand Galleons!"

Thunderous applause and cheers rang out in the auditorium again.

The students were excitedly discussing who would become their school's warrior, and everyone was looking forward to the upcoming event.

Headmaster Dumbledore finally announced that only students over the age of seventeen were eligible to sign up for the Triwizard Tournament.

As the news came out, there was a burst of wailing in the auditorium, especially from the twin brothers Fred and George, who were filled with indignation.

"That's not fair!" Fred protested loudly. "We are fully capable of participating in the competition!"

"That's right!" George also echoed, "Age is not everything!"

Fred rolled his eyes, grinned wickedly and whispered to George, "Let's go find Dumbledore and ask him to change the charter!"

Professor McGonagall heard their conversation and coughed sternly, "Okay, kids, it's getting late, go back to your common rooms."

After the students left the hall one after another, Headmaster Dumbledore walked up to Professor Moody and said with a hint of pleading in his tone: "Aragog, you know, it has always been difficult to find a suitable candidate for the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts..."

Professor Moody interrupted him gruffly: "So you're targeting a retired old man like me?"

Dumbledore smiled and said, "I know this is a bit difficult for you, but I believe you can do this job. Besides, the students need you."

Professor Moody stared at Dumbledore for a long time before he slowly said, "Okay, I can stay. But I have to teach in my own way."

"Of course, of course." Headmaster Dumbledore quickly agreed, "As long as it does not violate school regulations, you can teach however you want."

"I want students to understand the Dark Arts as early as possible," Professor Moody said firmly, "Only by understanding the Dark Arts can they better protect themselves."

"What?!" Headmaster Dumbledore was shocked. "You want to teach students the dark arts? This is too dangerous!"

"Don't worry, Albus. I'm just letting them experience the horror of the dark arts. I won't teach them the Unforgivable Curses." Professor Moody explained, "I believe my students will like my class."

He patted Dumbledore on the shoulder, turned around and walked out of the hall, saying as he walked: "Let the students experience the dark magic, it will only benefit them, not harm. I look forward to their performance."

Watching Professor Moody leave, Headmaster Dumbledore fell into deep thought.

He knew that what Professor Moody said made sense, but he felt vaguely uneasy at the thought of exposing his students to the Dark Arts.

……

A warm fire was burning brightly in the fireplace of the Gryffindor common room, painting the entire room a warm orange-red hue.

Students gathered in groups of three or four, excitedly discussing the Triwizard Tournament, and the air was filled with anticipation and excitement.

The twins, Fred and George, were sitting around a table discussing something excitedly.

“I bet those referees will see what great talents we have!” Fred said excitedly, his eyes gleaming with cunning. “As long as we can pass the age limit, we can become warriors!”

"That's right!" George agreed, "We need to find a way to get some aging agent. Just one drop can turn us into old men!"

However, their plans were quickly interrupted by Hermione.

"I advise you not to have such crooked ideas." Hermione said in a serious tone, "The age line is not so easy to get away with."

The two brothers looked at each other, shrugged, and said that they still wanted to give it a try.

……

At the same time, in the Gryffindor boys' dormitory, Harry and Ron were also discussing the Triwizard Tournament enthusiastically.

"Do you think you'll sign up, Harry?" Ron asked curiously, stuffing his trunk into the cupboard.

"I don't know." Harry answered honestly. In his mind, he imagined himself standing in front of the warriors and receiving cheers from everyone. He couldn't help but feel fascinated. "How cool it would be if I could become a warrior!"

He imagined himself holding up the trophy, and Salina standing in the crowd, staring at him with burning eyes, her face flushed with excitement.

Harry felt his cheeks burning because of this imagination, and he buried his face in the pillow shyly, as if this could avoid Serena's gentle gaze in his mind.
