Hogwarts Lion Girl
Chapter 160 Taxi
Fred and George quickly moved to take the seats in the back row, trying to elbow each other for more space.
Ron followed closely behind, but Ginny cleverly took advantage of the opportunity and sat in the window seat first.
"Hey, that's my seat!" Ron protested unhappily, only to receive a smug grimace from Ginny.
"Who told you to be so slow?" Ginny made a face at him, then turned to look out the window, ignoring Ron's complaints.
Mrs. Weasley struggled to move the bulging suitcase to the trunk, then turned to direct the children.
"All right, kids, be quiet! Fred, George, stop making noise! Ron, put your trunk away. Ginny, don't stick your head out of the window!"
Under Mrs. Weasley's command, the children finally quieted down and found their own seats.
The driver closed the trunk door with a dull bang.
"Is everyone ready?" the driver turned around and asked with a professional smile on his face.
"Okay!" The Weasley children answered in unison, their tone full of anticipation and excitement.
The driver started the car and the taxi slowly drove away from the Burrow and headed towards London.
……
The shabby taxi drove away from the Burrow and slowly drove along the country road towards London.
The wheels rolled over the road, making slight bumps. The sunlight shone through the windows into the car, leaving mottled light and shadows.
Mrs. Weasley was sitting in the passenger seat. She was wearing a faded floral dress and a faded hat on her head, trying to cover her messy red hair.
From time to time, she wiped the sweat from her forehead with a handkerchief, with a trace of fatigue that could not be concealed on her face.
The driver was a middle-aged man. He was slightly overweight and had some baldness on his head, but his blue eyes were bright and lively.
He spoke with a thick London accent, and there was a hint of curiosity and scrutiny in his tone.
"Are you going to London for vacation?" The driver tried to find a topic while skillfully controlling the steering wheel.
"Yes, yes," Mrs. Weasley replied quickly, her tone a little nervous and unnatural, "We are going to visit my sister. She lives in London."
"Oh, really? That's great." The driver didn't seem to notice Mrs. Weasley's abnormality. He continued, "London is a good place. There are many interesting places. You can go to the British Museum and Buckingham Palace..."
The driver talked incessantly about the attractions in London, and Mrs. Weasley responded in a disjointed manner. From time to time, she turned her head to look at the children sitting in the back seat, her eyes full of worry and anxiety.
The children were sitting in the back seat. They seemed to have no interest in the driver's introduction. They just discussed something in a low voice among themselves, and couldn't suppress their laughter from time to time.
Fred and George sat at the back, each holding a magic magazine in their hands, and were discussing the latest magic props with great interest.
"What do you think of this automatic shuffling deck of cards? We can use it against Lee Jordan next time." Fred said in a low voice with a sly smile on his face.
"Good idea, but I think this automatically changing color ink is more interesting. We can use it to forge exam answers." George also grinned.
Next to them, Ron and Ginny were still bickering quietly, trying to grab a window seat.
As the taxi drove into London, the scenery outside the window gradually changed from the countryside to a busy city.
The low farmhouses were replaced by tall buildings, the green fields turned into gray streets, the air was filled with a faint smell of smoke, and the ears were filled with all kinds of noisy sounds: car horns, vendors' calls, pedestrians' conversations...
The taxi slowly stopped at King's Cross Station, and the bustling city atmosphere hit us.
Mrs. Weasley opened the door first and stepped out of the slightly crowded front seat of the taxi.
She straightened her wrinkled floral dress, took out a few crumpled British pounds from her wallet and handed them to the driver, saying softly, "Thank you, sir."
The driver took the fare and looked at this strange family in confusion, but still kept a professional smile on his face.
"You're welcome," he said, waving goodbye.
The children were so eager to get out of the car that Fred and George almost bumped into each other, earning a rebuke from Mrs. Weasley.
The Weasley family dragged their luggage and headed towards Platform Nine and Three Quarters.
……
The bustling King's Cross Station was filled with people, and train information was constantly being broadcast on the radio.
Sirius walked Harry to the entrance of Platform Nine and Three Quarters, a hint of worry in his deep grey eyes.
He lowered his voice and spoke quickly to Harry: "I heard some information that may be related to you."
Harry's heart tightened, he knew Sirius wouldn't bring this up for no reason.
He stared at Sirius intently, waiting for what to say next.
"There were unusual noises at the Crouch household one night a week ago, but when the Ministry of Magic went to investigate, they found nothing. Mr. Crouch's daily routine was normal, so maybe it was just a false alarm."
Cirith paused, frowning slightly, "Also, Krum was attacked in the Leaky Cauldron. I suspect it was revenge by fans supporting the Irish team, but no clues have been found yet."
"Also, Mad-Eye Moody said someone attacked him in the middle of the night, but all they found at the scene was an exploded dumpster."
Sirius' tone became more serious, "Dumbledore has invited Moody to teach at Hogwarts. He will be your new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. Finally, I want to remind you that the Triwizard Tournament will be held this year."
……
Salina dragged her suitcase and moved between the crowded carriages, looking for an empty seat.
Suddenly, a familiar voice sounded in front: "Salina!"
Salina looked up and saw Ginny standing at the door of a carriage, her long reddish-brown hair shining in the sun and a bright smile on her face.
"Ginny!" Salina also smiled and greeted her. After the two of them got close, Salina gave Ginny a big hug. "Long time no see!"
"Long time no see!" Ginny also hugged Salina tightly.
Because of the injury, Salina spent the last part of her vacation in the hospital.
The two exchanged a few warm greetings and then walked into the carriage together.
Salina and Ginny found a seat by the window and put their luggage on the luggage rack.
They were chatting excitedly when a figure suddenly appeared at the door of the carriage.
"Ginny! Salina!" Colin Creevey waved at them happily, with his signature excited smile on his face, "Can I sit here?"
"Of course, Colin," Ginny said with a smile.
Colin happily sat down opposite them and couldn't wait to join in their conversation.
