Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 144 Mountain Eagle Bar

Salina's body seemed to be pulled back by an invisible force. She suddenly opened her eyes and found herself lying next to the jade platform, and Aziz was standing beside her with a terrified look on his face.

"You finally woke up!" Aziz's voice sounded like he was relieved, but also with a hint of subtle fear. "You looked so scary just now, like..."

"Like what?" Salina struggled to get up from the ground, feeling as if her body had been crushed and was extremely sore.

Aziz did not answer her question. He just looked Salina up and down with a complicated look, as if he was meeting her for the first time.

"You..." Aziz hesitated and finally shook his head. "It's nothing. I'm glad you're okay."

After waking up, Salina found that the marks of the magic runes on the stone platform still remained in her mind.

She tried to recall the contents of the runes and was surprised to find that she could clearly recall every detail, even the complex symbols and arrangement order.

Salina realized that the content of The Emerald Record seemed to have been completely imprinted in her mind, and this might be the reason why her teacher Nicolas Flamel wanted her to come to Egypt to see the original version in person.

As long as you can finish reading those ancient magic texts, the contents of "The Emerald Jade Record" will be completely imprinted in your mind.

……

On the way back, Aziz tried to hold back, but finally couldn't help asking, "Ms. Salina, are you...are you...a wizard?"

Salina was stunned and asked, "How did you know?"

Aziz smiled and said, "I have been here for so many years, and I have taken many people to see the Jade Record, but most people don't understand it. Only a very small number of people will fall into hallucinations like you. I know that this means that you understand the content above."

He turned his gaze away and continued, "There was an old wizard before. After reading The Emerald Record, he seemed to have reached the limit of his lifespan. To thank me, he left all his life's property to me and gave me a lot of amulets. His only request was that I continue to lead people there to watch The Emerald Record."

Aziz took out a gray pocket watch from his arms, handed it to Salina, and said, "This is what the wizard gave me. He said that he would give this thing to someone who can fully understand the Jade Record. I have been waiting here for so long just for this matter. Now that I have given it to you, I can also leave this barren desert. I have always wanted to go to the beach, and now I can finally set off."

……

After returning to the hotel room, Salina began to check the gray pocket watch. The hands had stopped moving at all, but she could still feel the fluctuation of magic power.

Salina suspected it might be a portkey, but she wasn't sure if it would still be useful.

The wizard hopes that someone who can read the Emerald Record will go to a place and do something.

There are no other clues besides this.

The rest of the information may only be known after using this portkey.

As night falls, the ancient city of Cairo is shrouded in a veil of mystery.

The golden sunset slowly sinks into the embrace of the Nile River, dyeing the sky a magnificent orange-red.

The river surface sparkled, reflecting the twinkling lights on both sides, like a river flowing with gold.

The buildings on both sides of the street gradually lit up with colorful neon lights, which complemented the towering minarets of the mosques.

The air is filled with the aroma of spices and grilled meat, accompanied by melodious Arabic music, forming a picture full of exotic charm.

Salina stood on the balcony of the hotel, overlooking the charming city, but her thoughts drifted far away.

……

The next day, after Selina finished her preparations and packed her things, she took out the portkey again.

Salina took a deep breath, held the pocket watch tightly in her hand, concentrated her mind and silently said "open".

The pocket watch emitted a dazzling golden light, and then he felt the space twisting, as if he was sucked into a huge vortex.

When the dizziness wore off, Salina found herself in a quiet forest.

The towering trees block out the sun, and the sunlight shines through the gaps between the leaves, creating mottled shadows on the ground.

All around were exotic flowers and plants that I had never seen before. The air was filled with the scent of moist earth and unknown flowers, and from time to time I could hear the clear chirping of birds.

Salina looked around, trying to find some clues.

She walked forward cautiously. The dense woods were silent, with only the rustling of fallen leaves under her feet.

After walking for a long time, Salina came to a stream.

The clear stream flowed slowly, with a few fallen leaves floating on the water. A few colorful birds were playing by the stream. They were not panicked when they saw Salina, but instead looked at her curiously with their heads tilted.

……

After some effort, Salina finally walked out of the forest. At the edge of the forest, she saw a bar.

A tattered wooden sign hung above the bar's entrance, originally featuring an ugly black double-headed eagle.

Because of the long time, the paint on the scene has begun to fade, and large flakes of paint have peeled off, revealing the mottled wood underneath.

All that was left of the double-headed eagle was an incomplete torso, and only an empty eye socket remained on one of the eagle's heads.

When the wind blew, the crumbling sign made a teeth-grinding creaking sound, like the cry of a crow, which was particularly harsh on the edge of the silent forest, like some ominous sign.

After wrapping her cloak tightly around her, Salina pushed the door open and entered the bar.

The interior of the bar was dark and cramped, and filled with a musty smell mixed with the nauseating smell of cheap tobacco and sweat.

A few candles flickered weakly, barely illuminating the surrounding space.

The walls are made of rough stones, covered with cracks and stains, as if telling the vicissitudes of time.

Several wooden tables and chairs were placed randomly, and the tabletops were uneven, as if they had been polished by countless rough hands.

Behind the bar, a bloated man was wiping a wine glass whose original color could no longer be seen. His face was full of flesh and his eyes were fierce, making people wonder whether he would pull out the weapon hidden under the bar at any time.

After casually ordering a glass of wine, Salina found a seat in a corner and sat down, quietly listening to the discussion of other drinkers.

Through their conversation, Salina gradually figured out a few things.

This bar is called the Mountain Eagle Bar. It is located at the edge of the vast forest in southwestern Albania, just south of the capital Tirana, and not far to the south is the Greek territory.

The person who made the portkey must have been extremely powerful, as he was able to allow someone to cross such a long distance and come directly from Cairo to Albania.
