Hogwarts Lion Girl
Chapter 143 Heading to Egypt
After bidding farewell to Fleur and Gabrielle, Salina embarked on a journey to Egypt alone.
The moment she stepped out of the cabin, a dry and hot wind blew in her face, mixed with spices, coffee and some indescribable smell, filling Salina's nostrils.
Cairo, this ancient city, welcomed the young witch, Salina, with a completely different vitality.
Carrying her suitcase, Salina struggled through the noisy crowd.
Her ears were filled with the constant shouting of vendors, the impatient honking of drivers, and the buzz of various languages intertwined, making her feel dizzy.
In order to escape from the hustle and bustle as quickly as possible, she randomly chose a hotel that looked pretty good.
Although it is called a hotel, it is actually more like a traditional Egyptian house. The mottled walls are engraved with traces of time, and the wooden windows are carved with exquisite and intricate patterns, exuding an ancient and mysterious atmosphere.
"Welcome, beautiful lady, welcome to Ismail's Desert Star." The hotel owner was a short, fat, smiling Egyptian man. He spoke English with a heavy accent and greeted Sharina warmly.
The interior of the hotel is antique, the walls are covered with colorful tapestries and portraits, and the air is filled with a faint smell of spices.
Salina asked for a room with a balcony, from which she could overlook the entire city of Cairo. The ancient pyramids and the majestic Sphinx seemed to be covered with a layer of golden gauze in the sunset, exuding charming charm.
"So beautiful..." Salina couldn't help but sigh.
"Of course, Egypt is an ancient civilization with a history of 7,000 years. It cannot be compared with those tiny countries with only a few hundred years of history." A slightly hoarse voice came from the side.
Salina looked back and saw an old man in a white robe and a red Turkish hat, smiling at her across a balcony.
The old man has a long white beard and his deep eyes reveal wisdom and vicissitudes.
"You are..." Salina asked puzzledly.
"You can call me Aziz, beautiful lady," the old man bowed slightly, "I have lived in this hotel for decades. I am a frequent visitor here and also an antique dealer."
Only then did Salina notice that the old man's hands were full of various rings and bracelets, and around his neck hung a heavy necklace inlaid with various gems, which was obviously worth a lot of money.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Aziz, my name is Salina."
"Salina, what a beautiful name, as charming as the lotus flowers blooming by the Nile River." Aziz exclaimed, "What brought you to Egypt? Travel? Adventure? Or..."
"I... I'm here to look for an antique." Salina hesitated for a moment, but decided to tell the truth.
"Oh? An antique? What kind of antique is it that could make the beautiful Miss Salina travel thousands of miles to Egypt?" Aziz asked, with a gleam in his eyes.
Salina secretly raised her vigilance and carefully observed the person in front of her.
"Perhaps you have heard of the Jade Record."
Aziz narrowed his eyes and smiled, "You've asked the right person. I happen to have information on this."
Salina was a little surprised, "You know?"
Aziz held out a hand and rubbed two fingers together. "As long as the price is right, we can leave at any time."
……
After Salina paid a hefty price, Aziz took Salina and set off the next day.
After walking for a while, the two came to a pyramid.
"This is it, follow me and be careful of your step." Aziz turned back and reminded.
Salina took a deep breath and followed Aziz into the majestic pyramid in front of them.
As soon as she stepped into the pyramid, Salina found that it was not as dark as she had imagined. Instead, it was filled with a dry and warm atmosphere.
There was a lamp lit at regular intervals on the wall. The dim flames flickered, dispelling the darkness and illuminating the surrounding environment.
Aziz walked in front, his dry fingers gently stroking the ancient murals on the wall, and he kept chanting something in a low voice.
Salina didn't understand the ancient language, but she could feel the piety in the old man's tone, as if he was praying to God for peace.
This winding passage has ancient hieroglyphs carved on the walls on both sides, which look mysterious under the flickering firelight.
Salina followed Aziz closely and walked for a long time before finally reaching the end of the passage. A room hidden deep in the pyramid suddenly appeared before their eyes.
The furnishings in the room are very simple. Apart from some ancient murals, there is only a high platform standing in the center of the room.
Salina walked forward and found that on the top of the platform was a jade platform, engraved with ancient magic runes and emitting a faint light.
Salina suppressed her inner excitement and quickened her pace to the side of the stone platform.
She bent down and looked intently at the magic runes on the stone platform. Unlike the rubbings she had seen before, the strokes of these magic runes were smoother and more natural, and seemed to emit a mysterious energy that attracted Salina's mind.
Salina's vision gradually blurred, and the magic runes on the stone platform seemed to come alive, twisting and spinning, and finally turned into countless points of light, rushing into her mind.
A strange force surrounded her, and a buzzing sound rang in her ears, like an ancient ballad or a solemn spell. Faintly, there were also painful wails mixed in, impacting her consciousness.
Salina felt dizzy and her stomach was churning. She wanted to close her eyes, but found that she had no control over her body. She could only let this force drag her into an unknown abyss.
Those spots of light kept colliding and reorganizing in her mind, eventually forming a series of strange and ancient pictures.
Salina saw a desolate desert, with strong winds blowing up gravel and ravaging this lifeless land. Faintly, she seemed to see a tall figure standing in the wind and sand, wearing a black cloak, holding a twisted scepter in his hand, and roaring silently at the sky.
The scene changed, and Salina found herself in a magnificent palace, where men and women in gorgeous clothes were toasting and laughing.
However, beneath the joyful appearance, there is a creepy and cold atmosphere hidden.
Salina saw a beautiful woman, with greed and ambition flashing in her eyes, a cold smile on her lips, a dagger inlaid with gems in her hand, and she slowly walked towards a sleeping man...
These images flashed before her eyes like a kaleidoscope. Salina felt that her consciousness was being torn apart. The severe pain made her want to scream, but she couldn't make any sound.
She wanted to get rid of this state, but found herself powerless and could only let her consciousness sink and float in the ocean of hallucinations.
After an unknown amount of time, the images and sounds finally faded away. Salina felt an intense sense of fatigue and her eyelids felt as if a thousand-pound rock was hanging on them. Finally, she lost consciousness and fainted on the cold stone platform.
