Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 125 Visiting Sirius with Harry

As the door opened, a gust of damp air mixed with dust and mildew blew in her face. Salina couldn't help but cover her nose with her hand.

Harry walked in first, followed by Salina, and stepped into a dim and narrow hallway.

Salina's eyes tried to adjust to the dim light. She saw that the floor of the hallway was covered with dark-colored stone slabs and there were several dim oil lamps hanging on the wall, emitting a faint light that stretched their shadows.

Harry turned around and smiled at Sharina, motioning for her to follow, then turned and pushed open another door.

The dim living room was filled with all kinds of strange objects, and the walls were covered with ancient portraits. The characters in the portraits all had gloomy faces, as if silently examining the intruders.

"Sirius! I brought my classmates to see you!" Harry couldn't hide his excitement and shouted upstairs at the top of his voice, his voice echoing in the empty old house.

There was silence upstairs for a moment, and then there was a burst of hurried footsteps, as if someone was running on the wooden floor, accompanied by a few sounds of things colliding.

Salina raised her head curiously and looked up the dim stairs.

A tall figure appeared at the stairs and walked down steadily. In the dim light, the first thing Salina noticed was his thick black curly hair, which swayed gently with his movements.

He took a few steps closer, and Salina saw his face clearly: it was a face with clear contours, a pair of bright eyes that seemed to contain the stars and the sea, and a somewhat unruly smile on his face, adding a touch of charming charm to him.

"Welcome, beautiful Miss Salina. Harry has told me all about you. I have wanted to meet you for a long time." Sirius' hearty voice echoed in the living room. He walked downstairs quickly with a smile, his deep eyes sparkling.

Salina saw Sirius stretch out his hands. His fingers were long and slender, and his movements were graceful and powerful.

Sirius approached with a warm breath, and Serena smelled a faint scent of tobacco and leather on him, mixed with an indescribable smell of freedom.

He gave Sharina a warm hug, and Sharina could feel his strong arms and powerful heartbeat.

Salina was startled by Sirius's enthusiasm, but soon relaxed. Sirius had a unique charm that made people want to get close to him.

"Sirius, don't scare Serena. She is not as thick-skinned as you." Harry saw Sirius hugging Serena so enthusiastically and couldn't help but laugh and joked, while winking at Sirius mischievously.

"Shut up, Harry, do you know what gentlemanly manners are?" Sirius frowned in pretended anger when he heard what Harry said, then turned around and glared at Harry who was snickering. He put down his arms that were hugging Serena, patted her shoulder gently, then turned to Serena and said, "Ignore this brat, Serena, come, I'll show you around our home. Although it looks a bit... um... antique, this place is full of memories."

Sirius led Salina through the long and narrow corridor. The creaking wooden floor told of the traces of time, and the dim family portraits on the wall watched them silently.

They walked into one room after another, from the study piled with magic books to the bedroom with faded curtains. Sirius' tone was sometimes light and sometimes low as he told the story of James and Lily.

Sometimes Salina stopped to stare at the yellowed photos on the wall, and sometimes she touched the carved patterns on the ancient furniture, as if she could feel the warmth of the passing times.

She listened to Sirius telling her story about James' heroic performance in Quidditch matches, Lily's extraordinary intelligence in Potions class, and their fearless courage in fighting side by side under the shadow of dark magic. These stories were like vivid pictures that slowly unfolded before Sharina's eyes.

Salina's eyes stayed on a photo on the wall. In the photo, James was hugging Lily's shoulders lovingly, and Lily was smiling brightly. She sighed softly and said faintly, "They...really love each other..." There was a little bit of envy in her tone.

Sirius followed Serena's gaze. The photo was taken secretly by him on the day of James and Lily's wedding. After so many years, the photo had turned yellow, but the people in the photo were still smiling so brightly, as if time had never left any traces on them.

He was stunned for a moment, his thoughts drifted to the distant past, and a bitter smile unconsciously appeared on the corner of his mouth.

"Yes, they are the most loving people I have ever seen. That brat James has put a lot of thought into Lily. You know, in order to pursue Lily, he..."

Sirius's voice stopped abruptly. He seemed to be hit by something suddenly. His eyes dimmed and a complex emotion flashed across his eyes, including nostalgia, sadness, and a hint of imperceptible pain.

Salina keenly noticed his change. She tilted her head in confusion and asked, "What's wrong, Sirius?"

Sirius was in a trance for a moment, as if he had just come out of his memories. He forced a smile and shook his head: "Nothing, just remembered some past events."

His voice became much deeper, revealing a hint of fatigue and helplessness.

He put down the photo frame in his hand and walked to the fireplace, where there was an antique photo frame.

He bent down, picked up the photo frame, and gently stroked the glass surface with his fingertips, as if caressing the passing time.

In the photo, five young men and women are smiling brightly and full of youth.

James put his arm around Lily's shoulders affectionately, and Lily snuggled up to him with a happy smile on her face. Standing next to them were Sirius, Remus and Peter.

Serena's eyes moved away from the photo of five people and fell on another photo on the mantelpiece: the background of the photo was the hall of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, two teenagers were leaning on each other's shoulders, one of them was obviously Sirius when he was young, and the other boy was somewhat similar to him, but there was a calmness between his eyebrows that Sirius did not have, and he was wearing a Slytherin school uniform.

Salina picked up the photo curiously and gently stroked the boy's face with her fingertips.

A deep and hoarse voice suddenly sounded behind her: "That's Master Regulus."

Salina's fingers trembled slightly, and the photo almost slipped from her hands. Salina turned back suddenly and saw the house-elf Kreacher appeared at the door of the room at some point. It was hunched over, and its cloudy eyes were fixed on the boy in the Slytherin uniform in the photo, with a strange light flashing in its eye sockets.

Sirius frowned and waved his hand impatiently, letting Kreacher go away like shooing away a fly. With a sharp "snap", Kreacher disappeared, and a faint musty smell filled the room. He turned around, patted Serena's shoulder gently, and comforted her, "Don't be afraid, that guy is always so gloomy."
