The scene was still inside Master Yuehua’s room.

His master and junior sister, Shen Ke’er, were whispering something. Seeing him approach, Shen Ke’er handed him a pill with a somewhat unnatural expression.

“Senior brother, you’ve just formed your core. This is a stabilizing pill prepared by Master.”

Master Yuehua added softly: “Take the pill now, and your junior sister and I will protect you during the process.”

The original owner, Lin Mo, did not harbor any doubts and swallowed the elixir directly.

After a brief circulation of his energy, he felt dizzy and his vision began to darken, soon collapsing to the ground, unconscious.

Upon awakening, Lin Mo felt utterly drained, his head still heavy and foggy.

He noticed that he was now shackled by iron chains to a stone pillar in a secret chamber.

His master, Yue Hua, holding a short sword, looked at him with nothing but cold indifference.

The icy blade wandered freely over his skin, as if choosing the best place to begin.

“Master, what are you doing?” Lin Mo asked in terror, not understanding what his revered master was up to.

Yue Hua’s cold eyes stared at him, reflecting nothing but indifference and ruthlessness in the candlelight, as if looking at a dead man.

“Mo’er, I could forgive your cold nature, your distant treatment of your junior brothers and sisters, and your violent temper, but colluding with demonic cultivators behind the scenes is a mistake I cannot overlook.”

Lin Mo was utterly confused. When had he ever been violent towards his juniors?

When had he colluded with the demonic sect?

Yue Hua pressed the short sword against his dantian, sighing deeply, “Making such a grave mistake, indeed, I have failed to teach you well. But you have succumbed to the demonic path, and for the sake of the people and the sect’s reputation, you must die.”

“However, you know that your junior brother, Ye Kai, has been eroded by poison since childhood, his meridians blocked and unable to cultivate. Now, I will take your golden core and marrow to transplant into him, and use your blood for his treatment. He will surely accomplish great deeds, act righteously on your behalf, and atone for your sins.”

Lin Mo’s face was a mask of disbelief. His master was really going to do this to him?

It must be a lie!

It had to be!

Yet, Yue Hua had already plunged the short sword into Lin Mo’s dantian.

The pain made him realize that none of this was an illusion.

He pleaded desperately, “No, master, you can’t do this to me.”

He struggled, roared, begging Yue Hua to spare him.

But Yue Hua had already made up his mind and would not stop.

The miserable screams echoed throughout the secret chamber, Yue Hua, the true person, turned a deaf ear, his expression cold, his movements even quicker.

The sensation of the blade cutting through flesh made Lin Mo hurt so much that in the end, he couldn’t even scream.

He watched helplessly as his golden core was extracted, his marrow and blood drawn out, until he could no longer open his eyes, his breath ceased, and his dreamlike life came to an end.

When Lin Mo’s consciousness returned, he was pale, his inner shirt soaked with sweat.

Were all those scenes what the original owner would experience in the future?

After all, he would never take an elixir without caution, nor would he beg Yue Hua.

The words of Yue Hua, the true person, still hung in the air: “I’ve heard about what happened with Yuan Li. Since you’ve already punished him, let him continue to manage the spiritual fields and plants behind the Green Bamboo Peak.”

Lin Mo’s expression instantly turned cold, and he said no more.

Originally, he had some fondness for Yuehua.

According to the original host’s memories, his master, though obsessed with cultivation, was also extremely kind to him.

When he was initiated, he often concocted medicines for him, personally shopped for his clothes, and even occasionally took him to travel the world.

But who would have thought, this master whom the original host revered the most, would personally slice open his flesh, and take away his golden core and marrow.

Regardless of the reason, whether the collusion with the demonic cultivator was true or not, his master indeed did such a cruel thing to him for Ye Kai.

Sensing Lin Mo’s sudden change, and seeing his pained expression, Master Yuehua asked softly, “Mo’er, are you alright?”

His tone was gentle, the concern in his eyes genuine.

Lin Mo was not as excessively kind as the original host.

Even now, Yuehua might not have the intention to harm him, treating him as a disciple, caring for him, and feeling sorry for him, but does that matter?

From the beginning to the end, his master favored Ye Kai more, and to remove the poison from Ye Kai, he would eventually turn his thoughts towards him.

Having experienced that bone-deep pain, Lin Mo looked at Yuehua, who cared for him, with determination in his eyes.

What undying master-disciple affection? It’s all fake.

He is not the original host; he cannot continue on the original host’s path.

Lin Mo shook his head with a cold expression, “Disciple is fine.”

Master Yuehua didn’t understand why, why his beloved disciple’s attitude towards him had changed so drastically.

He waved his hand, signaling Ye Kai to leave.

Though Ye Kai was displeased, he still maintained that obedient and considerate image.

Once Ye Kai left, Yuehua gazed at Lin Mo and asked softly, “Did I do something to make you dissatisfied?”

Lin Mo remained silent.

Yuehua guessed, “Do you dislike Ye Kai, your junior brother?”

Saying this, she was also puzzled.

Having followed her for so long, she knew Lin Mo’s character well.

He was not someone who couldn’t tolerate others, not so cold-hearted.

Why then, when it came to Ye Kai, did he become so angry?

Being angry was one thing, but to distance himself from his own master as well?

This was not a good sign.

Perhaps on behalf of the original host, Lin Mo asked her, “What if I say I don’t like him? Can you send Ye Kai away?”

Yuehua did not expect Lin Mo to be so direct, slightly startled, then said, “Ye Kai is the son of an old friend, I promised his deceased father to take good care of him.”

The implication was clear; she would not send Ye Kai away.

Lin Mo felt sorry for the original host once again, and he bowed slightly, “I overstepped just now. You are the master, you can take anyone as a disciple, and I have no right to say those things.”

“If there’s nothing else, I shall take my leave!”

Realizing the issue at hand, Yuehua said, “If Yekai has done something wrong, as the eldest senior brother, you should guide him more, not hold a grudge against him.”

Speaking of which, Yuehua brought up Yuanli’s matter again.

“Mo’er, you just said you didn’t punish Yuanli, but all the junior brothers and sisters on Qingzhu Peak saw what you did.”

Lin Mo couldn’t be bothered to explain, and asked in a low voice, “So, you intend to keep Yuanli here?”

After pondering for a moment, Master Yuehua replied, “Let him stay.”

She had heard the whole story from Yuanli, knowing that he was only obsessed with cultivation and had neglected the spirit fields, leading to pest infestation.

She didn’t think Yuanli had a significant problem; as a cultivator, one should prioritize cultivation, and that was correct.

Lin Mo sneered inwardly. The principle that without rules, there is no circle to be squared, as the head of Qingzhu Peak of Qingling Sect, could she be unaware?

He said calmly, “So, you also think, like the junior brothers and sisters, that my decision to expel Yuanli from the sect was an overreaction, unkind?”

From noble mtl dot come

Master Yuehua frowned slightly, “Mo’er!”

Her attitude was an implicit agreement.

Lin Mo said no more, turned around, and left.

Indeed, he should not be concerned with any affairs of Qingzhu Peak.

Master Yuehua’s beautiful eyes followed his retreating figure.

Her disciple seemed to have changed from before.
