The Urban Dao Child

Yang Dao greeted the sect masters of the five sects under Sun Eckhart's guidance. He proactively asked them all for some guidance. The elders were surprised to see this genius boy be so humble in front of them. They all gave him tips with an earnest mind too. The five sects were going to be tightly knit in the future so it was better to help the younger generation.

After the small talk came to an end the sect masters extended their invitation to Yang Dao personally. The boy was surprised and accepted them but he did mention that he will only visit them when he was done visiting his family, after all, the young child has been away from home for a year. He would not miss the chance to go back home for anything.

The sect masters smiled and agreed to wait for his return. Then, Sun Eckhart and Elder Cao took them all to the spaceship to depart for the Sovereign Sect. Alisha and Athena stood waiting for them in the holding bay, with anticipatory expressions. The elders had all recorded the proceedings of the trial on a sound capturing array plate. This will be published for the disciples inside the sect. To have them understand what Yang Dao had achieved and how he won glory for the sect.

As the crowd came inside the holding bay, Alisha and the rest of the people applauded them and congratulated them. Cal spoke up, "We did nothing, it was only Dao, who did all the hard work. We frankly leeched off of him for the armors."

The rest of the people also scratched their heads in embarrassment. Yang Dao did not say much but stood at the side with a faint smile on his face. Sun Eckhart said, "I will be leaving ahead, you all can come over with Elder Cao slowly."

Yang Dao said, "Master, wait. I need your help." his voice attracted the attention of everyone, well, he was the star of the trial.

Sun Eckhart asked, "What is it, Dao?" his tone was very calm and soft.

"That, I did not breakthrough to Nascent soul realm earlier, just half a step. Can you see if everything is fine with my primal soul?" said Yang Dao. The people were surprised when they heard his statement.

Sun Eckhart frowned and placed his hand on Yang Dao's head gently as he closed his eyes. After a few minutes, he said, "The primal soul is fine, the barrier around your soul sea is a bit denser than the rest of the people. Nothing to worry about, over the years you will be able to get through it."

Yang Dao smiled and nodded. Then Sun Eckhart vanished from his place and the disciples begin to question the dao child about the trial. The trial spirit had told them all in their heads that this was the last Trial of the pentagon so they did not have to worry about the oath of the older generations and they could share details with the other people.

Since there were no boundations, Yang Dao did not hide anything from the people and told them everything that occurred during the trial. Some of the attentive ones even took down notes while the others only heard him so they could later exaggerate his legends.

After a couple of hours, Yang Dao came to his room with Athena in tow. The two people sat inside the room on the straw mats in the cultivation area. Athena asked, "Why did I never see your armor before? It looks very dazzling."

The young boy smiled and said, "I do not use it most of the time."

"Why not?" asked Athena.

"Mother said, one should only use treasures when they are sure to guard them. Otherwise, it attracts trouble." replied the boy simply.

Athena understood that the armor was not a normal artifact but a strong and higher grade one, that could not be obtained by anyone. She was not someone greedy for treasure so she did not do as much. Yang Dao displayed his trust in her by sharing the knowledge that it was a treasure. Athena asked, "When will you be going back to your home?"

Yang Dao said, "Right after I reach the Sect. You see, the duel appointment with the demon sect is a couple of years away, so I have to learn and work a lot in the meantime. This is probably the last time that I can slack. Also, I do not wish to waste much time."

Athena nodded and said, "I have asked my parents, I will be going along with you."

Yang Dao nodded with a smile and said, "My mother will be very happy to see you. Grandma will like you a lot too."

Athena blushed slightly and the room turned silent once again.

After a week the ship entered the domain of the Sovereign sect and the disciples all moved out on their flying swords. Yang Dao was the only one who had shining Azure wings on his back. He looked like an angel from the heavens. The grand elders of various departments were already standing in their welcome. Sun Eckhart had come back earlier to prepare this grand welcome for them.

The family members of the participants were invited to join the welcome as well. After all, they thought that some of the candidates might die so the sect wanted them to come and collect the bodies. However, all that never occurred.

Yang Dao and the rest landed in front of the elders and they bowed to the elders slowly. The elders were all proud of their disciples for coming back safe and sound. Yue Jing was the second person who had gained the most. She had stepped into the golden core realm and now her alchemy level will increase as well.

The sect held a small feast to celebrate the return of the young Divine Paragon. After the feast, Yang Dao told his master that he would like to leave the sect for a couple of months and visit his family in the Yang Family domain.

As a sect master, Sun Eckhart was worried that the child might encounter something dangerous on the way but was assured when Yang Dao told him about Old lady of the Yue Family was coming to get him. Still, Sun Eckhart asked Elder Cao to protect the child from the shadows. This time, Elder Cao did not say anything in protest.

Yang Dao did not resist as well, after all, Elder Cao protecting him was a good thing. Soon things were arranged and the Dao Child skipped his way back to Yue Yun with a smile on his face. Sun Eckhart had asked Alisha to follow him back as well. This might be a good experience for her.

The old lady was happy that Yang Dao was going to spend a longer time with her. Yang Dao also did not let her down, he told her a lot of anecdotes and funny incidents. The lady laughed a lot as they traveled back to the Yue Overlord.

Yue Jing had won glory this time and it was about time that she dealt with the matters on her hand. The threat of Yue Ming harming her would either make her lose sleep or turn her into a coward, hiding behind the strong to protect her.

Yang Dao was aware of this but he did not say anything except that he will stay beside her and he trusted her to make the right decision. Athena was quiet but Yue Yun kept the girl sitting beside her and treated her with a lot of warmth. After a few hours, they arrived back at the Yue Overlord domain planet and greeted Yue Lei Wang and Jenny.

Yue Jing stayed with Jenny and did not return to greet her father Yue Jiren. It was during the night banquet when the family gathered did Yue Jiren and Yue Ming came to see Yue Jing. As the banquet commenced, Yue Jiren stood up from his chair and said, "Everyone, respected elders. I would like to put forward my son, Yue Ming name for the young patriarch of the family. He is seventeen and has reached a golden core realm. He is also the prime disciple of the Prestige School's leader. I wonder if I am speaking out of term."

Yue Lei Wang did not react in haste, he was a cunning old man, he watched how the elders reacted before making his move. After a few minutes when the elders did not speak, Yue Jiren turned to face the old man and asked, "Patriarch, what do you think?"

When they thought that the old man was bluffing them, Yue Jing stood up from her chair and said, "With due respect, I would like to challenge Yue Ming for the position of Young Matriarch."

Her calm and serene voice shocked the people more than an explosion at the midnight would have.
