The Urban Dao Child

A strong roar reverberated through the bodies of the group. They stood in front of a monster as big as the hall buildings they have seen in the sect. It was black in color, four legs, a long tail, a long neck. Blood red eyes, and a mouth filled with hundreds of sharp teeth, with black skin like irregular stones.

Shakti said, "Retreat." in a loud voice.

Everyone moved back at the speed faster than they had come forward. However, the monster had already noticed them and immediately gave chase. Amil said, "It is big..."

What he wanted to was that since the monster is so big, then it should not be too fast, however, his words did not complete when the monster was already upon them. Cal said, "Scramble."

They all maneuvered their flying swords and scrambled in five directions, each with a partner. The monster was confused for a second but soon it decided to target one team and gave chase. Yang Dao and Yue Jing turned out to be the food he liked most among the scramble.

Yue Jing was sweating when she heard a calm voice, "I will come over to your flying sword, Sister. We will be faster that way."

The girl nodded and shifted one of her feet at the hilt of the sword, however, before the sword lost its balance, Yang Dao was already standing on the blade. He circulated his spiritual energy inside the blade and the sword moved at twice the speed it was before. The monster, however, was not so easy to deal with. It caught up again.

Yang Dao shouted, "Are you guys, going to attack it or not?"

The people all woke up from their stupor. Shakti was the first one to take out her sword and slash at the monster, with her intent wrapped around the attack. The shining arc landed on the rocky skin of the monster and left, no damage.

Followed by this, Amil and the rest also attack with their top skills but it did not work at all. Suddenly, they heard a calm voice, "Do not panic, remember that with patience, you can defeat anyone and anything. Do not lose control. Attack at the grooves on the skin, and attack at the same spot. Do not use the best of your skills, just attack more and repeatedly."

His soft voice calmed down the people, and they began to attack. Shakti launched a chained sword attack combo, with all the attacks, landing at a spot on the neck. Turned out the grooves were the weakness of the monsters. Since the armor was chinked, they all began to worsen the chink. Attacks after attacks, landed on the groove, opening a wound, that revealed purple flesh, and a stench.

The monster roared from the discomfort and its attention turned towards the attackers. Suddenly, there was a glow inside its mouth, Amil shouted as his instincts cried, "Dodge everyone."

As soon as his words stopped a purple ray of light erupted from inside the beast as it turned its head around to attack them all at once. It was as if a purple beam of light was cutting the horizon. Fang Yang quickly moved and came to stand in the gap below the belly of the monster. He did not waste time and began to arrange a formation under the monster.

Yang Dao caught these actions of his and came to a distance with Yue Jing on the flying sword. He began to take out special flags made from spiritual material and erect them to cast a formation as well. Yue Jing stood beside him and watched as the others fought the beast and Fang Yang quickly arranged a formation under the belly.

She asked, "What if the monster moved?"

Yang Dao shook his head and said, "It will not, they are attacking it from different sides, and flying around to keep it disturbed. They have this much tactical understanding."

As the group coordinated their moves, Yue Jing asked, "Why can you not try and tame this monster?"

Yang Dao replied, "Your answer lies in your question, this is a monster, and we tame beasts. This thing is more powerful than a nascent soul realm beast, how am I to tame it?"

Yue Jing thought for a bit and said, "I will go and join the fight, this might provide me some inspiration."

Yang Dao nodded while arranging flags and said, "Be careful."

Yue Jing took her flying sword and joined the fight.

Inside the spaceship, the monitoring team almost choked from holding their breaths. They did not expect the group to come across such a monster right off the bat. Athena clenched her robes tightly while Alisha watched it all on the screen silently. They were both worried about Yang Dao,

Athena even forgot that her senior sister, Yue Jing was also facing the monster, and her focus was dedicated to Yang Dao and his safety only. The Dao Child did not know that in the past few months, from ever since they had been officially engaged, he has conquered the girl's heart and now ruled over it like the heavenly emperor.

Alisha did not reply but watching the two of them moving around and arranging flags she guessed something. She turned to look at the deacon of the array hall, who was a member of the monitoring team, and the older man said, "Young Miss, they are arranging a teleportation formation. It is not a big scale one, but a very small one. The one arranged by Young Master Yang is the receiving array."

Alisha nodded and asked, "Why are they arranging it under the monster, and why a small scale one."

As if they heard Alisha's words from the spaceship. Yang Dao said, "Done." loudly while facing in Fang Yang's direction. The latter also replied, "Done."

Then Fang Yang took his flying sword and moved away from the place. He weaved his fingers to form a few seals and said, "Start."

The array started as the flags began to glow. Yang Dao also made a few seals and said, "Start."

Both the arrays glowed with a bright flash, making everyone blink, as they subconsciously closed their eyes, something happened.

When they opened their eyes, they found the monster losing its old tenacity and ferociousness, it was roaring but the pain was evident. Cal suddenly looked around and said with an unsightly expression, "Look there."

The rest of the people looked n the direction his finger was pointing and they caught the sight of a lot of garish things spread on the ground. The sight was not for the weak heart or for hygiene-friendly people. The things spread on the ground were the innards of the monster.

Fang Yang had arranged the smallest teleportation array below the monster, and Yang Dao had made the receiving array. This array was used in courier offices, of the sect. To send small things or artifacts, such formations would come in handy. However, Fang Yang himself did not expect such a strong effect.

He and the others moved closer to Yang Dao and Fang Yang asked, "How?"

Yang Dao scratched his head and said, "I increased the intensity of the pul, did not expect for it to flush out the innards like this from that small hole."

When the array was initiated, it caused a hole to form under the belly of the monster, and the pull from the receiving array sucked out almost all the vital organs from inside the monster. The creature was invincible on the outside and mushy on the inside.

As the people were gazing at the pile of internal organs, Yang Dao walked to the monster corpse. Amil asked, "Where are you going?"

"To get us all some good armor." told the boy. He was going to extract the skin from the monster and refine it into armor pieces for everyone.

On the spaceship, a staff member, could not bear to watch the sight on the screen and excused herself as she flushed everything she ate. Athena smiled and said, "This stone skin is indeed a good material."

Alisha nodded but she was not paying attention to the extraction, but to the screens that displayed vital information. The group of Sovereign sect was being approached by another group of people, ten in total. She mumbled, "Be careful, guys."
