The Bard at Hogwarts

Chapter 40 The story begins

After the white witch and the giant wolf left, Ino returned to the room with nothing to do.

He now feels more and more like eating soft glutinous rice.

Being locked up in the castle, he had nothing to worry about eating and drinking every day, and all he had to do was tell a story a day, and then make the white witch happy.

But when he thought that the other person was always sad and moody because of various stories, he felt really tired.

That's not all, small snacks can always cope with it.

He is now afraid of the ending of One Thousand and One Nights, where there is a story every night. When there are no more stories to tell, the king will kill the storyteller.

Return to the room alone.

Ino picked up Practical Home Magic again and started reading.

To strike, one must be strong. After all, all reluctance and lack of freedom stem from one's own weakness.

It's strange to say that there seem to be too many people in the magic world who don't care much about strength, and even regard magic as just a tool in life rather than a means of life.

For example, this book "Practical Home Magic" is obviously a treasure, but it has been seriously underestimated and even shelved in the library without anyone paying attention.

Even if there are a few readers, they can only be full-time wives and housewives.

Although the book was not favored by people, Eno did not take it lightly.

Three months is not a short time.

Over the course of a hundred or so days and months, he had become proficient in all kinds of playing, playing and singing... no, he was proficient in all kinds of cooking, frying and frying.

From cooking on the stove to daily housework, all kinds of magic are basically at your fingertips now, which is much better than three months ago.

After all...whether it's cutting vegetables or peeling apples, magic doesn't recognize only one target. If the fruits and vegetables are replaced by people, the effect will be the same.

When you are focused, you never feel that time has passed.

Half an hour flew by.

Just when Ino was about to practice how to shell a lobster, he was interrupted by a rapid knock on the door.

He stood up and opened the door. Not surprisingly, it was an old acquaintance, the former dwarf coachman Simon.

"Guest! From tomorrow on, you don't need to go to the garden on time. Everything else remains the same. If you need anything else, you can just come to me directly."

The dwarf Simon brings new instructions to the White Witch.

This is good news, but also alarming news.

After the dwarf left, Ino came to the window.

It seemed to be extremely lively outside the castle. The ice field under the setting sun was full of scattered black shadows, wild wolves, hyenas, vultures...

It was obvious that the curtain had risen in Narnia, and now the White Witch had no time to entertain herself with stories.

But facing such an epic story, he knew very well that there was nothing he could do. Even being an audience member was somewhat unqualified.

A feeling of powerlessness arises spontaneously.

As a storyteller, it is undoubtedly a great irony to be unable to witness the development of the story personally.

Time passes day by day.

Narnia has also changed quietly. The sky, earth, mountains, rivers... are all changing quietly.

On the ice field outside the castle, more and more creatures are gathering.

In the beginning, there were only wild wolves and vultures as scouts, but now there are tauren holding giant axes, majestic polar bears, and even twenty-foot-tall Cyclops...

Not counting the people who came one after another, the ice field was already completely black and could not be seen to the end.

Just looking at this posture, the White Witch seems to be gathering all the troops she can rule.

Compared with the turmoil outside, Ino was quiet in the room.

Apart from going to the auditorium to eat on time every day, the rest of the time was spent practicing magic without leaving home. No matter how noisy outside, he was neither curious nor asked too many questions.

But even so, this tranquility did not last long.

Until dawn on the seventh day, the dwarf knocked on his room again.

Castle garden.

Ino saw the White Witch who had been away for a long time. She seemed to be more majestic than before, and her whole body exuded a suffocating fierceness.

"Good day! Your Majesty the Queen." Ino greeted softly.

However, the response to him was silence.

The White Witch sat quietly on the chair, looking at the only flower in the garden without looking back, as if she was indifferent to everything around her.

After a while, this ice blue rose became more and more crystal clear.

Seeing that the other party didn't want to talk, Ino sat quietly aside and stopped talking if he didn't want to speak. When it came to silence, he really wasn't afraid of anyone.

Time seemed to have stood still. In the huge garden, the two of them were as motionless as ice sculptures.

a long time.

"Spring is coming in Narnia...the snows are melting and the rivers are waking up!"

The White Witch's voice was as cold as ever.

Ino did not take the topic rashly and remained quiet.

After all, at this time, you should speak less and silence is the best response.

After a short silence, the White Witch continued to herself and said:

"You are the first person to live in the castle unharmed in hundreds of years..."

As soon as these words came out, Ino had the urge to turn around and run away. After all, the hundreds of living stone statues in the auditorium are no joke. Who knows if the other party will suddenly say "Don't destroy the tradition..."

Just as he was secretly calculating his escape route, the White Witch's next words made him breathe a sigh of relief, and he finally felt relieved.

"Do you know why? Because you are the only one who is neither hostile nor flattering to me, which makes me feel very interesting. Of course, you did not disappoint me. The stories you told later were really interesting and wonderful."

"Thank you for your praise and recognition, Your Majesty!" Ino said softly.

The art of language is like this, keep silent when you should be silent, and answer when you should answer.

"Although the story is wonderful, what I want to say is that you don't have to change the original story line to cater to me. Tragedy is destined to never become a comedy. Even if you force it to turn around, there is nothing else except awkwardness."

At this point, the White Witch turned her head and stared at the sky quietly.

"Is it because of fear? If so, then you don't have to. If I really want to hurt you, I would have done it a long time ago!"

While the White Witch was speaking, her speed was slow, but sonorous and powerful, as if she was born with an unquestionable temperament.

"Besides, with your half-hearted tricks, there is no chance of resistance at all. You know this very well. Even if you are loved by fate, you will know a few divinations."

On the other side

Ino was a little overwhelmed by this sudden showdown.

He wanted to compliment her, but when he saw her calm and indifferent eyes, all his lies vanished.

The sapphire eyes were as deep as the starry sky. No one would have the courage to lie if they looked into her eyes.

After three months of getting along, the White Witch gave him an extremely strange feeling at this moment.

It seemed that she was not a literary young woman who was easy to fool as he thought, but a wise man who saw through everything but didn't say it. After knowing everything, she quietly appreciated everyone's performance.

"Your wisdom is admirable, Your Majesty!" Ino exclaimed sincerely.

This time, he was really glad that the White Witch was just a villain in a fairy tale, not a villain in the traditional sense.

"Hahahaha..." The White Witch laughed for the first time.

The silver bell-like laughter resounded in the castle garden, which was inexplicably nice.

After a while, the laughter gradually subsided.

"Let's go! Leave here, leave the castle, go anywhere you want."

Today is a transition, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow will be fine.
