The Bard at Hogwarts

Chapter 162 Group photo at sunset, the forgotten basilisk

Dumbledore's sudden appearance caught both of them off guard.

Soon, after reacting, Ino was the first to greet him: "Good afternoon, professor! The Care of Magical Creatures course was originally an elective course I planned to take. As for Hagrid, although we are not familiar with each other, I think we can get along well."

On the other side, even though his hair and beard were all white, Newt still had the respect and enthusiasm of a student for the professor. He opened his arms and walked towards Dumbledore.

"You haven't been to my place for a long time! Today, Ino and I must have caused a trouble!"

While speaking, Newt turned his head and gave Ino an apologetic look.

Ino raised his head speechlessly and looked at the sky. He now felt that Newt was very simple, but also a little unrighteous. Obviously, the two children used slingshots to hit the glass together, but as soon as the parents arrived, one of them turned around and complained.

The interaction between the two people's eyes was seen by Dumbledore, and he was inexplicably envious. Since becoming the headmaster of Hogwarts, no student has been willing to interact with him in an equal and interesting way for nearly half a century.

Fame is glory, but also a shackle.

In school, he is even willing to act weird and pretend to be a crazy old man in the hope of getting close to students. But unfortunately, even so, students still keep a polite distance.

While sighing, Newt has appeared in front of him, and Dumbledore also opened his arms and hugged his former student.

"Newt, you didn't cause trouble, and this is not trouble, believe me!"

Dumbledore's voice was not loud, and his tone was not decisive, but this confession, like talking about the weather, made Newt feel relieved.

"Thank God! I thought I was in trouble! And that guy over there, he almost wanted to run away just now, don't think I don't know!"

Newt deliberately increased the volume, as if he was afraid that some people couldn't hear clearly.

Hearing that he was accused again, Ino stopped looking at the stars in broad daylight. He turned around and pretended to be angry and retorted:

"How could I run away! That was a mobile transfer! Besides, you instigated me to burn it. The knife and the fire are mine. What curtain are you going to send me to after the result..."

"You just said you didn't plan to run away? Your eyes betrayed you." Newt also smiled and argued.

"I want to run for a reason. An old man wants to steal my things..."

"You..."

Some things are magical. With Dumbledore as a lubricant, this bickering made Newt and Ino suddenly relax. There was no more stiffness, strangeness and distance between them when they were together before.

Dumbledore watched with a smile throughout the whole process, watching the interaction between the two.

...

Unconsciously, the sun slowly sank.

Time also passed slowly like fine sand, covering the world with a layer of gradient colors.

The breeze in the evening in Massachusetts was a little cool. The wind gently blew across the lawn in the courtyard, and the lush grass swayed in the wind.

The fresh green grass leaves sparkled in the soft light of dusk, as if they were sprinkled with a thin layer of gold powder.

A quiet midsummer night.

On the lawn, there was a heavy solid wood round table with three exquisite dinners on it.

Ino leaned on the rattan chair very relaxedly, and opposite him, two old men who were two hundred years old in total were chatting quietly.

With these two sitting here, I'm afraid no one in the entire magic world would dare to provoke them.

What also made him feel relaxed was the flame placed in the shelter.

I don't know whether it was out of trust or for some other reason, he proposed to deal with the flame privately, and Dumbledore agreed without thinking.

Some things and some people really seem to be unable to be expressed in words.

Dumbledore's approach made Ino feel a strong sense of trust and respect. Perhaps everyone is growing up, and as time changes, they are gradually changing their way of doing things, regardless of age.

Ino sat on a rattan chair, quietly watching the two protagonists of the story chatting opposite him, the protagonists of the previous and the previous class. This was a rare picture.

"Ahem... I'm sorry to interrupt, gentlemen! With such a beautiful sunset view, why don't we take a photo as a souvenir?"

"Take a photo?" Dumbledore looked up. The clouds at dusk today seemed really beautiful, orange, pink, violet... these colors intertwined together.

"I agree! Take a photo together!" Newt stood up, his expression somewhat happy. Today, he not only met the professor who had not seen him for many years, but also verified his conjecture about the phoenix.

After seeing that both of them had no objection, Ino decisively took out the big box camera from his suitcase.

However.

"Merlin! The Sanderson camera of teenagers in the late 19th century! He is older than me, maybe as old as Dumbledore."

Newt looked at the antique in front of him in amazement. He was too familiar with this style of camera. It was the most popular camera in his childhood.

Well, now it was Ino's turn to be embarrassed, but the bard was least afraid of embarrassment, and smiled:

"You don't understand, this is a retro feeling, taking pictures should be ceremonial!"

"Don't be sentimental! Wait for me here for a while." Newt saw through someone's lie at a glance, stood up and walked into the room.

When there were only two people left on the lawn, a red figure flashed by again, and Fawkes delivered a letter to Dumbledore.

A moment.

Looking at the sudden appearance of the phoenix, Ino seemed to have remembered something and sat up slowly: "Professor! Do you know there is a basilisk hidden in the castle? The basilisk left by Salazar Slytherin."

Hearing this, Dumbledore gently took off his half-moon glasses and said in a somewhat inexplicable tone: "I know! But I don't know where it is hidden. I have been looking for it."

There were no doubts, no rhetorical questions, and no curiosity about how Ino got the news.

Dumbledore's answer was like light soda water, making people unable to hear the sadness or joy.

"What are you going to do with it if I know where it is?"

While talking, Newt also quietly returned, and Ino stopped talking. After all, it's not too late to talk about some things later.

In the courtyard at dusk.

Newt is adjusting a new camera, the most popular Polaroid camera in the United States.

Seeing Newt's deliberate showoff, Ino secretly touched his pocket. He still had a lot of gold coins from selling the cat demon's claws in the Arad continent.

"The alchemy-modified camera is a bit troublesome! Not only can it take photos instantly, but it also automatically adds developing potion!"

Newt said loudly and slowly as he walked slowly outside the lawn, and when he stopped, a camera stand suddenly appeared on the ground.

After adjusting the angle, Newt quickly returned and stood on Ino's right side.

Under the setting sun, Eno and Fawkes were in the middle, with Dumbledore and Newt standing on both sides.

"Click!"

The instant camera made a crisp sound, and then printed three photos in succession with developer solution added.

In the photo, the three of them are all smiling brightly, especially Dumbledore, who always makes some funny moves in the photo.
