HP Dawn Night

Chapter 75 The Dead Rooster

The symbol of Slytherin is the snake.

It exists in many places: the coat of arms, the decoration of the lounge, the flag.

Every Slytherin student is proud of this, but in the initial consideration, we all ignored it.

The truth is within our reach, but no one is aware of it.

"So, you think the Heir of Slytherin is manipulating a snake?" Blaise sat on the sofa, playing with a small crystal ball.

"In theory," I nodded, "but I don't think it would be an ordinary snake."

"That's right, if it's a poisonous snake, then those people should be bitten to death instead of petrified." Draco casually put the "Encyclopedia of Fantastic Beasts" on the table.I pointed to it:

"This is currently the most authoritative bibliography on magical animals, but it doesn't mention any kind of snake that can petrify people."

"Then the snake moved in the wall through the water pipe, are you sure?" Blaise pondered for a moment.

I nodded: "The water pipes in Hogwarts extend in all directions and are very suitable for snakes to crawl. Therefore... I think this is the most likely inference."

"Then you might as well start with Potter," Blaise suggested. "You know, Potter can speak Parseltongue, so—"

I glanced at him suspiciously, Draco took over the conversation and coughed:

"I think Blaise means that since Potter can speak Parseltongue, that means he can talk to the snakes in the castle."

"Maybe Potter hasn't told you something yet." Blaise reminded me, "After all, he hasn't completely let go of his guard against you."

"Not to mention that Weasley and Granger are there to add to the chaos." Draco snorted coldly through his nose.

"So you think Potter might have known there was a snake in the castle, but he didn't tell me?" I asked, rubbing my eyes.

"Maybe Potter himself doesn't know what that is." Draco sneered.Blaise reached out and touched the school emblem on his clothes:

"It's also possible that he heard it, but he himself ignored it."

I looked at the time: "They should be having lunch in the auditorium at this point, I'll go find them right away."

With everyone staring at me, I walked straight to the Gryffindor table.Potter and Weasley were sitting together, I went over and patted Potter: "I need to talk to you."

Weasley stuffed his mouth full of chicken legs, and when he saw me coming, he muttered angrily, "What are you doing here? We don't have much to talk to you about."

I shook my head helplessly, and to prevent others from overhearing our conversation, I had to bend down and whisper, "What if I say I know what the monster in the castle is, Weasley?"

The chicken bone in his hand fell to the plate with a clang, and he looked at me in panic: "Are you kidding me? Did you chat with the heir of Slytherin?"

"So, take a step, Potter." I shook my head, motioning for Potter and Weasley to follow me.This time, Potter walked with me into the hall without hesitation.

"Hey, what do you know, tell me quickly." Weasley folded his arms and looked at me with a threatening expression.

"Mr. Weasley, I have to remind you that my friend is lying in the infirmary like your friend, so now our purpose is the same, and you don't have to." I said, "Potter, please make sure Give me a real answer."

"Don't talk to Harry in that tone." Weasley shook his fist. "Harry is not a suspect, and you are not his interrogator, so—"

Potter kicked Weasley: "You ask."

"—Okay, okay," I conceded, "Potter, maybe these questions will embarrass you, but if I know the correct answer, I can verify whether my reasoning is correct or not."

"What if your reasoning is wrong—" Weasley snapped.Potter stopped him:

"Well, if I knew..."

"Have you ever heard some voices," I asked uncertainly, "from the walls, maybe it sounds a little strange."

As soon as I finished speaking, the expressions of Potter and Weasley changed a few times.

"How do you know!" Weasley cried.

"I heard." Potter nodded.

"Weasley, can you and Granger hear it too? Or is it just Potter?" I asked again.

"Just me," Potter whispered.

I took a deep breath and felt that I had touched the truth: "Do you remember when and where you heard it?"

Potter thought for a moment, "Sometimes... usually before the attack. The first time I heard it was after Nick's Deathday party after Nearly Decapitated, I followed that voice to—"

"Mrs. Norris, I see." I nodded. "As I thought, Potter, there is a snake in the castle."

"Snake?" Weasley's eyes widened.

"That's why I'm the only one who can understand..." Potter said to himself.

"Do you remember other situations, some strange things are fine." I sighed, looked at the dazed Weasley and Potter, and induced, "Anything that is not normal is fine."

"Hagrid's cock!" said Weasley suddenly. "Do you remember Harry? Hagrid said his cocks died out of nowhere."

"When did that happen?" I asked.

"I don't remember," Potter and Weasley looked at each other helplessly, "probably the first attack. I'm not sure."

"That's a clue. Thanks."

"What kind of snake is that, the normal one?" Weasley asked me.

"I don't know yet, but it's certainly not an ordinary snake, because ordinary poisonous snakes don't petrify people, they just attack you with venom." I replied, "I'll look into it. Thanks, Potter , and you, Weasley."

Just as I turned to leave, Weasley suddenly stopped me by saying, "Wait a minute. Harry, you haven't told her about that morning."

"Huh?" Potter didn't respond. "You mean the diary—oh!"

I looked at them both suspiciously, but Weasley looked innocent as if he had done nothing.

"I heard that voice again after breakfast, and then Hermione said she figured something out and ran away," Potter said quickly.I thought about it:

"Maybe your friends and I thought of going together. So you might as well go and see her. Since she was found outside the library, we can guess. Maybe she has found some evidence."

After saying goodbye to Potter and Weasley, I went back to the Great Hall to find Draco and Blaise. But found that they were not there.

"See Draco and Blaise?" I asked Crabbe and Goyle, who were eating happily under the cake.

Crabbe swallowed the pudding blankly and dully. "What? Oh, uh..."

"They've already left." Goyle raised his head and dropped this sentence, then hurriedly plunged into the cake.I looked at these two gobbling guys who seemed to have never eaten cake in their lives, and I really didn't know whether to smile or stamp my feet angrily.

"Snape," came a thin voice from one side, and Millicent Burst gave me a timid smile, "they said they were going to find a book. Sister Greengrass went with them. "

"Greengrass?" I was taken aback.

"Astoria went to help, and then Daphne followed." Borsted explained.

"Okay, I see, thank you." I absently thanked Burst, and then rushed to the library.

As Burstrod said, the four people were sitting around a table with a mountain of books piled on it.

"Just in time, Violet," Blaise saw me and motioned me over. "We just had a little inspiration."

I walked over and saw me coming, Daphne turned a blind eye, but Astoria smiled sweetly at me.

"Thank you, since Vio is here, the three of us should be able to complete it." Draco bluntly ordered the Greengrass sisters to leave, Daphne looked worried, and Astoria smiled:

"It's okay. See you later."

After the two of them left, Blaise turned the book and said to me: "Draco suddenly thought that we could change our thinking. Since Professor Sprout said to use mandrakes to heal people who were petrified, then we Just start with the Mandrake."

"Draco, you're so smart!" I complimented.Draco was humbled:

"However, there is a little trouble. Most of the books have briefly mentioned the efficacy of the mandrake, and there are very few in-depth discussions."

"Sounds like a big project," I opened a book, "but I think it should be done in an afternoon."

The author has something to say:

Are the Greengrass sisters female counterparts or soy sauce~

Is Astoria the original partner, or is it a sidekick, or a passerby~

Who is Daphne allocated to~ who~ who~
