HP Dawn Night
Chapter 4 Diagon Alley
When I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was the familiar dark purple lace bed curtain.
I stared at it for a moment before realizing it was the knock on the door that had woken me up.
"Vio, it's time to get up." Mom's voice sounded outside the door.I looked at the hourglass clock by my bed—07:30, past my usual wake-up time.
Maybe it's because I read too late yesterday?
"Here we go, Mom," I replied, grabbing my dressing gown and throwing it on quickly.
"There are a lot of things to do today. Go wash and change clothes first." Mom saw me open the door and rubbed my hair.
Today is August 1991, 8, the time Draco and I agreed to go to Diagon Alley.
"Okay," I said, and I heard Mom hurrying down the hall and down the stairs. It's been a really busy day.
"How do I look?" I asked it, standing in front of the full-length mirror.
"Oh! You are simply beautiful. The beauty of the Watson family is as old as its history..." This slightly neurotic mirror was a gift from an old family friend on my tenth birthday. It is said to have a long history, but once it wears It's endless.
"Thank you, Mr. Mirror." I adjusted the blue headband on my head.
Before breakfast begins, I need to answer a letter to Pencey.
"Dear Vio:
See Xin'an.
As you know, our effusive guest, Miss Daphne Greengrass, spent nearly a summer at Parkinson's.You should also know that she is probably one of our classmates. That's a really good thing.I don't know if I told you, Miss Greengrass is lively and friendly, and I think we can get along very well in the future.Plus, we're heading to Diagon Alley with the Greenglass family on August 8th.Sorry I can't be with you and Draco.
Doesn't seem like there's been a particularly interesting party in a while? The grown-ups are always in a hurry, and Miss Greengrass and I have to entertain ourselves at the Manor.Luckily we both have a soft spot for the dress up game, we secretly used my mother's makeup and her gown (she didn't notice), wonder what your naughty mirror would say if it saw us?
The pansies at Parkinson's were doing well, and both my father and mother said it was a good sign that everything was going well for me at Hogwarts.Oh, Merlin's beard, if I don't get sorted into Slytherin, I'll quit school and go home right away.
I almost forgot to ask, did Aunt Margaret agree to buy Nimbus 2000 for you?I think Draco must have it!It's a pity that I'm not interested in Quidditch by nature, otherwise I would have been watching it for a long time in front of the Quidditch boutique with great interest.
Almost forgot again: did you read the latest issue of the mail-order brochure?Maybe it's not high quality on that, but you know, when we get to school, it'll be useful - I hear every girl at Hogwarts has a copy? ——Speaking of which, I am somewhat looking forward to the new life of the school.
Finally, please forgive my presumptuousness, according to the gossip I heard by accident, it seems that your father who has been missing for many years is Professor Severus Snape? Is it true? It's unbelievable. If you wish, please write to me and discuss this matter in detail.
Waiting for your reply.
Good luck.
miss you pansy
PS. I am very much looking forward to the day when school starts. "
I picked up Pencey's letter and reread it.In fact, in my private letters with Pansy, we never use such a formal tone, so... I smiled, picked up my pen and wrote a reply letter——
"Dear Pansy:
How have you been?
It was great to hear from you.But unfortunately, I am going to Diagon Alley at this time, so I have to write you a hastily written letter.please forgive.
I am sure we can become excellent friends with Miss Greengrass. Also, I heard that Miss M. Burst will also be one of our classmates at Hogwarts? That was wonderful.
Mom promised to buy me a new broomstick if I made it to the school team, and Draco was annoyed for a long time that the school didn't allow freshmen to bring broomsticks.
Hope the pansies bring you luck, it's a pity I can't be at Parkinson's for a while. As for the mail-order brochures, I wish I had you! After all, you have always been at the forefront of fashion.
Regarding the last thing you mentioned, yes.But it is inconvenient to say too much in the letter, so I stopped here.
Hope to meet you on the train when school starts!
Miss Vio so much
PS. You will definitely enter Slytherin! "
I examined the reply with satisfaction, then opened the window and whistled out the window.
The Pansy family's smooth-coated owl flew down from the shed, stopped by the window, and nibbled my finger intimately.
I touched its feathers and saw how full it was.
"Looks like the house-elves are taking good care of you - go ahead and take this letter to Pansy."
After it yelped twice, it spread its wings and flew away from my window.
"I hope your little master hasn't been too anxious to wait." I looked at its small figure in the sky, and thought of the connotation hidden under Pansy's gorgeous words.
Miss Daphne Greengrass...I couldn't help laughing at the thought of her and Pansy spending the summer alone.
"Vio, are you okay?" Mom called my name from downstairs.
"Here we come." I replied as I went downstairs.
When the house-elf saw me coming down, she hurriedly served a freshly baked breakfast.
"Shall we Floo?" I asked Mom, buttering the bread.
"Yes." Mom looked at a copy of the "Daily Prophet" while drinking juice, "There will be more people today, so follow me, Vio."
"Okay." I sandwiched the fried egg, bacon, and bread. "Why do we have to leave so early?"
"Because we're going to be very busy today. Not only do you and Draco have back-to-school supplies, but Sissy and I also have things to buy, and of course I have to do some things of my own." Mom folded up the Daily Prophet, "Don't forget to bring your inventory, honey."
"Are you going to talk about Charm Fragrance?" I asked.
"Mrs. Primpney's Beauty Potions wants to open a corner for my beauty products," said Mom triumphantly, "but I'm just going to check it out."
"Well, there are more."
"There are other trivial things. Buy some necessities, check the publication status and so on." Mom glanced at the pendulum clock beside me, and I hurriedly finished the food on the plate in two bites.
"I got up late."
"It's okay, honey." Mom waited for me to wipe my mouth with a napkin to confirm that the list of items was in my pocket, and she took a dragon skin bag from the fireplace:
"You go first, honey."
I stood in the fireplace, grabbed a handful of the glittering powder, and said, "Diagon Alley." The flames turned green.
I emerged from the fireplace of the Leaky Cauldron, coughing and dusting myself.
"Clean it up." Mom appeared behind me and gave me a cleaning spell, "Go to Gringotts to get the money first, we might meet Sissy and the others there."
"I want access to my vault."
Mom said to a goblin.
"Your key?"
The goblin checked one side carefully: "No problem. Please follow me, Miss Watson and...Miss Watson."
My mother and I looked at each other and smiled, and saw the banter in each other's eyes.
"It's Miss Watson and Miss Snape," I said to the goblin, shrugging. It looked at me a little surprised, then shook its head:
"Okay, okay, Vault 743."
I also like the minecart in Gringotts, it feels like a roller coaster in the Muggle world.
Although I have been here many times, after the smoke cleared, I was still shocked by the wealth accumulated inside - piles of gold Galleons almost overflowing from the vault, as well as gems piled up on the side and scattered Sickle and Nat.
"The Watsons don't need money, Vio," said Mama, as if she were relaxed.
It's common for established pure-blood families to accumulate fortunes over several generations, and the Watsons are the best of them all - just look at how popular my mother's beauty potions are.
"Next—hey, Sissy!" As soon as my mother led me out of Gringotts, she saw a familiar figure not far away.
"Hi, Maggie." The two of them called each other by nicknames affectionately.
"Vio, the blue dress suits you very well," Draco said after staring at me for a few seconds.
"Really? Thank you." I pointed to Draco's new robe and said kindly, "The texture looks good on you."
"Merlin! Xiaolong already knows how to praise girls for their beauty at such a young age!" Aunt Narcissa heard our conversation and excitedly kissed Draco on the forehead.
"Mom." Draco blushed and accepted his mother's kiss.
"Do you like Vio? Do you like it? Do you like it?" Aunt Narcissa asked persistently. I watched Draco's face turn pink more and more, and raised my head to look at my mother beggingly. .
"Okay, Sissy, didn't Lucius come with you today?" I wonder if it was because I couldn't bear to see my daughter being molested indirectly, so my mother rarely stood by my side.
"Why did you bring him? Isn't it just the children and you and me?" Aunt Narcissa let go of Draco, and resumed her haughty look.
"Then let's go to customize the school uniform first." In the blink of an eye, the two women started the modes named "Queen Margaret" and "Mrs. Malfoy" respectively.
"I heard about your relationship with my godfather." Draco whispered in my ear as the mothers walked ahead and chatted about them, "Is that true?"
"It seems to be true." I sighed, watching Draco's expression become cheerful, "Why are you so happy?"
"You're going to be in Slytherin, aren't you. Wouldn't it be nice to have a Headmaster as a father?"
"But," I said with difficulty, "don't you find him unapproachable." I swallowed, remembering the condescending glance he gave me in the living room.
Draco was like a deflated ball: "That's right."
"So I'm a little worried about what will happen if I don't do well in Potions," I said dejectedly.
Draco gave me a look of disbelief: "Dear Violet, if you don't get an 'excellent' in Potions, I really doubt that half of your Watson's blood is made of mead It's gone." He dragged his voice and said in an aria.
"Okay, okay, look, that's the gown shop." I pinched his fair and pink face, and then quickly withdrew my hand before he became angry from embarrassment.
"Can you and Draco go buy the robes yourself? We'll go buy the books for you." Aunt Narcissa asked.
"Of course." Draco replied seriously. He didn't give up fighting back, but changed to scratching my palm behind my back.
This is my first visit to Madam Mojin's robe store.Mom and I usually choose to have gowns custom-made at the more upscale Trivial tailors.
"Welcome! Come to buy Hogwarts school robes, my dear." Madam Malkin was a fat witch in purple robes. She instructed us to stand on the footstool, then spread our arms and stand upright, let the tape measure automatically measure for us, the robe would automatically adjust where it didn't fit, and two witches would pin up the excess fabric for us.
"Could you hurry up?" Draco moved impatiently.
"Patience. Draco, you don't want school robes that don't fit right?" I reminded. He really gave up struggling.
At this moment, the door was pushed open, and a boy was vaguely seen walking in.
"Want to buy Hogwarts uniforms, my dear?" she said. "We've got a lot of them here, to be honest, we've got two young men trying on them right now."
The boy walked a few steps to the back of the store, and I saw him clearly. He was wearing ill-fitting old Muggle clothes, which made him look even more emaciated. He also wore a pair of tattered eyes staring at a mess of black hair, but those eyes were surprisingly green.
Madam Malkin made him stand on the footstool next to me and pinned him to the right length.
"Hello." Seeing him sizing me up quietly, I simply opened my mouth first.
"Hi." He smiled shyly at me, then nervously stopped.
"So, we'll see you at Hogwarts soon." I guess he must be from a Muggle family or a half-blood wizard living in an orphanage, otherwise he couldn't be dressed so poorly.
"Do you have your own broomstick?" Draco said slowly, just as I was about to stop there.I glared at him reproachfully, but he didn't seem to notice.
"No," said the boy.
"Ever played Quidditch?" Draco asked again.I can't believe he didn't see that the boy couldn't be a wizard.
"No." The boy's face flushed slightly, did he feel that he didn't understand anything?
"I did." Draco said haughtily, lifting his chin, "My dad said it would be a shame if I didn't get picked for the Academy team - I have to say, I agree with that. Do you know which college you were assigned to?"
"You and I are going to Slytherin anyway," I said before the boy.Draco looked at me surprised and slightly annoyed, and the boy gave me a grateful look.
"Try it, my dear." At this moment, the witch who was measuring me said to me.I was so glad I could get away from this unpleasant conversation that I quickly jumped off the footstool.
The witch cut out my uniform. After paying the money, I turned around and left, only to be caught up by Draco before leaving the store.
"Wait—why interrupt my conversation with that idiot?" He asked aggressively.
"Then why are you talking to idiots?" I angrily pushed open the store door with my packed uniform.
"Vio, are you angry?" Draco stomped angrily on the spot first, and followed cautiously when he realized something was wrong.
I turned my head away from him and quickened my pace.
"You're ignoring me for such an idiot?—Wait for me, Vio. Vio!" Surrounded by the bustling crowd, Draco didn't dare to stay too far away, so he kept following Behind me, kept calling my name.
I didn't stop until the signboard of Lihen Bookstore appeared in front of my eyes.
"Vio!"
"That's just a bitch, Draco, is that interesting, I don't want to be unhappy all day because of blood or something. Besides, he didn't mess with you." I said.
"..."
We grew up together.Mom didn't instill as much pure-blood in me as Uncle Lucius and Aunt Narcissa had in Draco. In my concept, there is no need to actively provoke the hemp and half-breed, unless they come to the door.
Draco knew this too.
"Would you like some ice cream from Florin's Ice Cream?" Draco asked me as if nothing had happened just now.
I think this is probably the greatest apology Master Malfoy can express.
I stared at it for a moment before realizing it was the knock on the door that had woken me up.
"Vio, it's time to get up." Mom's voice sounded outside the door.I looked at the hourglass clock by my bed—07:30, past my usual wake-up time.
