HP Dawn Night
Chapter 108 The Stormy Race
When I woke up the next morning, I heard the wind howling outside the window.
"I'm glad you don't have to play in this weather." Pansy sat on the bed and changed.
"I have a little sympathy for them." I yawned and got up, "But the Quidditch match won't just be cancelled."
By the time we had finished our breakfast and walked to the Quidditch pitch with everyone, the sound of the storm grew louder. It's definitely not a little drizzle. But the bad weather couldn't stop the enthusiasm of the teachers and students in the school. We put on waterproof cloaks and ran towards the stands—smart people would not open umbrellas in such weather.
"A wind like this will throw broomsticks all over the place," I yelled as we scrambled to our old seats.
"I-can't-you-what!" Pansy yelled at the top of my back, but the wind broke her voice into fragmented words.
This is definitely the worst match in the history of Hogwarts. Fourteen people are flying around in the air, and the audience can only see their shadows. A difficult thing happened: Almost everyone on the field was flying around like Bludgers.
At this moment Mrs. Hooch's whistle blew, and Gryffindor called a timeout.
"Potter is wearing glasses." Blaise looked at the gathered Gryffindor players in the field with a mini-glass. "He can't play with those glasses."
"That's where Digory has the advantage," said Draco. "He doesn't wear glasses, and he's not easily blown away by the wind."
"Well, the situation is getting worse." When everyone flew into the sky again, there was a dull thunder, and then a zigzag lightning struck down.
"It's too dangerous," Pansy said.
"—Wait! What did they see?" Draco yelled, jumping to his feet.
The audience in the stands stood up one after another, Potter and Digory were both accelerating, and in the pouring rain between them, a golden dot shone...
"Merlin!" a cry came from Hufflepuff's direction, "they'll collide."
"They won't."
"Oh no!"
A familiar chill hit me, as if someone had turned off the volume for a split second, and there was an eerie silence in the stadium. The rain was still falling, but there was no sound.
I looked down into the middle of the stadium, where there were at least a hundred dementors clustered there, looking up at the sky.
"Who allowed the dementors to come into the school?" Draco pulled out his wand, not only him, but many students (especially the senior students) did the same, "Call God for protection!"
I focused: "Call God to protect you!"
An antelope jumped to the ground, and it and many other patron saints, big and small, ran and wandered around the border of the auditorium. The sound was back, and the feeling of being submerged in icy water was gone.
"Oh, my God, look--Harry!" There was a scream that could not be ignored from Gryffindor on the opposite side, and I only had time to see a figure falling rapidly.
"He fell—"
"He will die at such a height!"
"Professor Dumbledore has rushed forward."
"Cedric caught the Snitch!"
Professor Dumbledore waved his wand, and Potter's fall slowed, and then he turned his wand on the dementors, saying something angrily as he unleashed the silver Patronus on them. Then he conjured up a stretcher and moved Potter onto it, the stretcher floating and moving, with Professor Dumbledore escorting Potter beside him.
"Hope he's still alive."
"I can't believe how dementors came into the school."
"Professor Dumbledore will take care of this, don't you see how angry he was just now?"
The Gryffindors hurried after Potter, and their captain, Wood, was left alone, standing in the rain, seemingly determined to drown himself.Hufflepuff Captain Diggory walked over and seemed to want to say something to him, but Wood just shook his head. The students in the stands talked a lot, while getting up to face the wind and rain and go back to the castle.
"I'd say Hufflepuff won fairly, at least their Seekers weren't affected that much," said Pansy as she hurried us through the rain to the dry, warm castle.
"That's right." I took off the waterproof cloak outside, "Potter has been affected too much."
We walked together to the common room, and Blaise said, "Think about who Potter is... I don't think it's hard to understand why the dementors would have more of an effect on him."
For a moment none of us spoke.
At the door of the common room, we met Dad. He was walking towards us with a small bottle, and he stopped me: "Vio, go and give this to Madam Pomfrey."
"Okay." I picked up the medicine bottle and put it in my pocket, handed the cloak to Pansy and asked her to take it back to the dormitory for me, and then went back the same way.
There were not only Gryffindors but Hufflepuffs in the infirmary. The ground was full of muddy footprints, but Madam Pomfrey no longer cared about these details.
"Ma'am, Professor Snape asked me to bring it to you." I handed the medicine bottle to Madam Pomfrey, only to notice a small label on it:
strong demulcent
"Ah, that's great. Thank you for stopping by, Miss Snape." Madam Pomfrey happily took the medicine bottle from me, then walked over to Potter's bed, and poured two drops into his potion cup. Drop, "Professor Snape often supplies the infirmary with some very good medicine. Drink it, boy, and get some sleep, and you'll feel much better."
Weasley and Granger turned around, and they saw me right away - a Slytherin among the Hufflepuffs, easily recognizable.Weasley's expression collapsed, I dare say he was convinced that the medicine I sent was poisoned, and Granger nodded at me reluctantly, though her movements were stiff.
"You'd better take some too, Diggory." Madam Pomfrey warned Diggory, holding up the bottle, "Before it happens."
When Madam Pomfrey walked by, the Hufflepuff players surrounding Diggory made way one after another, and I saw a Ravenclaw girl with dark hair sitting on a chair beside the bed , talking to Digory.
Isn't that Ravenclaw's new Seeker this year?
I glanced at her with interest. According to Hogwarts' round-robin competition system, each house has to play a game with the other three houses.Slytherin followed with two in a row: Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. This is a tough battle.
But it seems that there is something between these two people, won't they be embarrassed on the field?
When I went back to the dormitory and told Pansy about this, Pansy just glanced at me, closed the book and sighed:
"Vio, you're always quick on things that don't concern you."
