Chapter 12

Pei Chongyuan did not expect Jiang Xi to open his eyes suddenly.

Jiang Xi didn't expect Pei Chongyuan to be so close to him.

After a few seconds of silence, Pei Chongyuan spoke first.

"See if your fever is gone." He said, leaning forward slightly, and the two of them pressed their foreheads together.

Jiang Xi forgot to breathe, and his whole body froze for a moment.

Pei Chongyuan's forehead was not cold, and Jiang Xi felt that this person seemed to be hot all the time, like a ball of fire, which could blow his already burning fireball to pieces.

"It seems to be better." Pei Chongyuan straightened up without changing his face, and asked him, "What do you want to eat later?"

Jiang Xi shook his head, losing his appetite.

Pei Chongyuan looked at him silently, and after a while he said slowly: "We'll talk about it when we get out."

Jiang Xi finally found out that he was not Pei Chongyuan's opponent at all. Even if this person was just unintentional, he had already grasped the lifeblood of his emotional line.

He never thought that one day he would be controlled by others, but this day has come.

It's a blessing, not a disaster, it's a disaster that can't be avoided.

Jiang Xi closed his eyes, reviewing the feeling when their foreheads touched just now, reviewing the faint scent of perfume on Pei Chongyuan's body.

Because Jiang Xi hadn't eaten, and the medicine would irritate his stomach, in order to prevent him from feeling unwell, the drip was administered very slowly.

From the beginning to the end, Pei Chongyuan stood there covering the infusion tube for him, and Jiang Xi was not polite to him, letting him stand like that.

After more than an hour, the hanging bottle was finally finished.

Pei Chongyuan called the nurse to pull out the needle, and listened attentively to the nurse's instructions.

"Thanks," Pei Chongyuan said, "then we'll come back tomorrow afternoon."

Jiang Xi was going to be given a three-day injection. Pei Chongyuan didn't even discuss it with him, and decided to pick him up every day and accompany him for injections.

When he came out of the hospital, Jiang Xi said, "I have class tomorrow afternoon."

"You can come over at night." Pei Chongyuan glanced at the phone, "I will cancel the dinner tomorrow night."

"Don't." Hearing what he said, Jiang Xi quickly refused, "I can do it myself."

"Your school is far from here." Pei Chongyuan opened the car door for him, "Get in the car."

Jiang Xi stood there watching him, the high fever subsided temporarily, and his mind became clearer.

He said, "Brother Pei, thank you for today, but, myself..."

"What are you, yourself?" Pei Chongyuan smiled, raised his hand and rubbed his head affectionately, "What are you trying to do? Is it so hard for you to be with others when you are sick?"

Jiang Xi frowned: "I didn't mean that."

"What does that mean?" Pei Chongyuan approached him, "Is that aimed at me? You don't want to see me?"

"No!" Jiang Xi quickly explained, "Brother Pei, I didn't mean that."

"That's not what you mean?" Pei Chongyuan straightened up, took half a step back, and looked at Jiang Xi as if examining him, "Then tell me, what do you mean."

Pei Chongyuan's attitude made Jiang Xi feel very oppressive. He had never been afraid of anything, but now he was very afraid that Pei Chongyuan would misunderstand him, and that Pei Chongyuan would cut off contact with him from now on.

Intellectually clear, breaking is the best.

However, what Jiang Xi said when he opened his mouth was to persuade him to stay.

"Brother Pei, I just don't want to trouble you."

All the previous arrogance was completely extinguished in front of Pei Chongyuan, and Jiang Xi unconsciously changed from a wanton young man walking in the clouds to a weed clinging to a big tree.

The big tree he looked up to was Pei Chongyuan.

After Jiang Xi finished explaining, Pei Chongyuan didn't speak, just stood there and looked at him.

At this time, it was already dark, and Jiang Xi couldn't really see his expression, but felt that the other party seemed very unhappy.

"Brother Pei," Jiang Xi agreed and sighed, "I'm not used to this."

"Not used to being taken care of?"

Jiang Xi nodded.

Pei Chongyuan didn't take it seriously, he could tell that Jiang Xi was the kind of child in a good family, he must be pampered and live like a young master.

He only thought it was a child playing tricks on him, so he pushed the boat along and said dotingly, "Then you have to get used to it slowly now."

Jiang Xi looked at him in surprise.

Pei Chongyuan didn't say much, just urged him to get in the car.

"The scarf is tied." Pei Chongyuan said, "Or do you want me to tie it for you?"

Before Jiang Xi could react, Pei Chongyuan had already taken the scarf from his hand and wrapped it around his neck.

After getting an injection and eating, Pei Chongyuan drove Jiang Xi back to school.

On the way, the radio was turned on in the car, and someone happened to order Li Zongsheng's "The Price of Love" at the karaoke stand.

Jiang Xi remembered that snowy day, when they stopped the car and waited for the red light, this song was playing on his mobile phone, and Pei Chongyuan in the driver's seat sang along softly.

The light in the car was dim, occasionally the pink-orange light of street lamps sneaked in, illuminating the ambiguity in the small space.

Pei Chongyuan was very at ease, and still sang softly, but Jiang Xi's heartbeat and breathing were disordered, and his originally clear brain and vision were disturbed.

There was not much communication between them, and Jiang Xi didn't know what to communicate with him, for fear that he would expose himself if he said a few more words.

He looked at the car window, looked at his face reflected in the glass window, and suddenly felt that he was very strange in front of him.

Turning another corner ahead is their school, Jiang Xi looked at the intersection, praying for the green light to turn red.

If it was a red light, they would have to wait another 60 seconds, and he would be able to spend another 60 seconds with Pei Chongyuan.

However, the sky did not follow his wishes, and the journey was smooth.

Pei Chongyuan's car stopped at the school gate, and when Jiang Xi went to unbuckle his seat belt with a cold face, Pei Chongyuan said, "Would you mind showing me around your school?"

Jiang Xi was a little surprised.

Pei Chongyuan smiled and said, "I've never been here, I want to see the world."

"You can park your car inside." Jiang Xi said, "Enter the gate and turn right, it's the parking lot."

With permission, Pei Chongyuan smiled softly, turned on the turn signal and drove into the gate of the Conservatory of Music.

Even though it was not too late in the winter night, there were not many students on campus.

After all, on a very cold day, no one is blowing cold wind outside to split sentiment.

If it were in the past, Pei Chongyuan would never have been able to do things like accompany the little boy to the campus, even when he was in school, he didn't have the patience.

Instead of wandering aimlessly, it's better to go straight to the topic and open a house, no one wastes time and energy, how good it is.

However, there is nothing static about people.

The two of them were not dressed thickly, and they were both the type who wanted grace and not warmth. When the cold wind blew, goosebumps formed together, Jiang Xi even shivered secretly, and his upper and lower teeth collided at high frequency, making a clear crisp ring.

However, neither of the two of them wanted to go back.

"Do you still miss home?" Pei Chongyuan asked suddenly.

Jiang Xi was taken aback, and it took a while to remember that he said he was homesick.

They walked to the empty stadium and walked slowly on the pitch-black field, like two ghosts frozen to death in the ice and snow.

Jiang Xi didn't make a sound, not knowing how to answer.

"It's like this when I just went to college." Pei Chongyuan said in the tone of someone who has experienced it, "I just left home, and I don't get used to it, so I'll get better slowly."

They walked side by side, their arms touching each other from time to time, and the flames flew everywhere.

"Hmm." Jiang Xi was too cold to speak, and only made a very soft nasal sound.

"It's cold." Pei Chongyuan looked at him, and suddenly took his hand.

Jiang Xi's hands were cold, as if they were covered with ice.

Pei Chongyuan held his hand in his own, not too hard, as if he was afraid that the brittle ice would be crushed.

He said: "Let's go, I'll take you back to the dormitory, it's too cold, don't make your cold worse."
