Monster Integration

2418 Flesh Golem

"Grandmaster, it is ready," said the technician, "Thank You," I said and walked into the teleportation gate.

I have two weeks at most for this mission; the project could only survive for two weeks without me. So, whether I am successful or not, I will have to return within two weeks.

I think two weeks is more than enough for me to successfully complete the mission.

I entered the space tunnel, where I remained calm. I did not move so much; the accident I had suffered years ago is still very fresh in my mind.

Bang!

I remained in the space tunnel for more than a minute before I was thrown out hard. I seemed to have crashed against something hard. So, hard that I felt some of my bones cracking, which is very hard considering the defense of my armor.

"Fuck!" I cursed and opened my eyes and found myself staring at a rock. No, not a rock but a mountain; I have crashed into the mountain.

I circulated the healing energy to fix the small bone cracks around my body as I looked around. As I expected, I found myself under the twilight sky and faint black mist around me; seeing that, I instantly recognized where I was.

The black mist mountains.

It is only covered in the black mist, while the rest of the ruin has white smoke surrounding it. This mist is extremly dangerous that only Grandmasters could survive in it. It also restricts soul sense; even the peak Grandmasters won't be able to stretch their soul sense over five miles.

I flew up in the sky while my avatar studied the map; I did not have a specific direction in my mind. So, I would fly north while searching for the signs of disturbing signals that Pyramid had sensed and also deal with Grimms if I had come across them.

I really wish I had come across the Grimm Monsters, especially one with the bloodline. I had been in mid-level of leader class for far too long.

I just to consume the bloodline of one Grimm Monster; it did not matter if it was an initial Grandmaster's bloodline. As long as it was a Grandmaster class, I would be able to advance into a peak leader class.

"Father," Chew Chew

As I had reached the top of the mountain, Ashlyn and Nero came out of me. "Don't go too far away from me," I said, especially to Nero, had is too excited to be out.

While Ashly got a chance to come out every week, Nero did not, and now that I had entered the ruin, he is not willing to stay inside even for a moment.

Both of them flew away from me while I moved toward the north; I didn't have any specific direction, so moving to the opposite seemed like a wise choice. This way, I will pass through the central area, which is the most crowded with the destroyed building.

I moved fast while my source sense covered the large area. Other's soul senses might face supression of the black mist, but mine did not, or at least not as much as the others. I could still use 70% of it.

"Everything is barren," I whispered to myself few minutes. There is not much life here; one could see a little greenery now and then, but it is very rare; the mist of this ruin made it very hard for something to grow.

An hour passed, and I had traveled a huge area with my speed, but I did not find anything, not even Grimm Monsters, which were supposed to have come here in a large quantity.

Hun!

Another forty minutes passed when suddenly, I noticed the movement toward the edge of my soul sense and moved toward it.

Halfway through the distance, that thing seemed to sense me as it looked at me. Its looks shocked me; I first thought I had seen a human, but humans don't have four years and have grey metal cubes planted in their bodies.

The thing also has a black Warhammer, which is big as it; such weapons went out of fashion among humans centuries ago.

The moment it looked at me, it disappeared from its place and came toward me. Its speed is extremly fast that it barely took a few seconds to appear next to me.

"Die!"

It shouted loudly in a universal language, and it swung its hammer at me with an incredible speed.

My sword appeared in my hand in an instant, and I swung at it.

CLANG!

Its hammer clashed against my sword, and my eyes widened up in a shock. Saying I am shocked would be an understatement. The attack was powerful and hidden; it was even powerful invisible energy, but it was not what shocked me.

The thing that shocked me was that the thing in front of me was not alive; its attack did not bear the slightest hint of life. Instead, they have an immensely deep necrotic feeling that raised all hairs on my body.

This thing is not alive; if I am right, then it is a flesh golem. The pale metallic cubes stuck inside it, the dead look in its eyes, and most importantly, the necrotic feeling I am getting from it is proof that this thing is a flesh golem.

The flesh golems are golems in which a body of fleshy life is used. Most of the time, they use the dead body, but some cruel methods require a live being.

I have read about these flesh golems before but have never expected I would come across one. It instantly made me very serious. If what I read about them is right, then my time in this ruin is going not going to be easy.

I might even end up like Grandmaster Manny and Grandmaster Gurmukh or, worse, die in this ruin. I will have to be very careful from now on.
