Chapter 7: disagreement

  Chapter 7 Divergence

   Joway Gun Store.

A Dodge Challenger stopped in front of the store, and two men got out of the car, a bald white man and a dark-haired young man.

It was David and Luke from the Robbery-Murder Division.

The two entered the gun store one after the other.

The room is filled with various types of guns, pistols, rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles, etc.

Luke was dazzled, walked to the counter and flashed his police badge, "Which one is the boss?"

A middle-aged man with a beard was cleaning a rifle on the counter, "What's wrong with me being the owner of this store?"

"I'm Detective Luke, and this is Detective David." Luke took out a photo of the suspect Tim from his pocket, "Have you seen this man?"

The boss took a look, "No."

Luke took out another picture of a modified Taser gun, "Does this gun look familiar?"

The boss put down the cotton cloth and glanced at it, "I still have a few X26-C tasers in my shop.

sir, if you want, I can give you a 5% discount. "

"This is not an ordinary Taser gun. The gun's voltage and magazine have been modified, which is much more powerful than ordinary Taser guns.

Last night, the man in the photo carried out a robbery with this gun, which he said he bought from your store.

You have several modified tasers in your store and I need a list of customers who bought them. "

The boss was silent for a moment, then shook his head, "I'm just a gun seller, and what I do is a legitimate business. There is no modified Taser gun in the store. You are looking in the wrong place."

Luke looked around and pointed to the overhead camera, "Call out the surveillance, I want to check."

"Sir, I am willing to cooperate, provided that you have a search warrant."

David got a little impatient, and moved closer to the counter, "Hey, if I come in with a search warrant, it's not as simple as checking the surveillance.

Do you want to suspend business for rectification or go to the police station as a guest?

will definitely make you feel at home. "

The boss was a little annoyed, but he still hesitated, pointing at the camera, "That's fake, I have so many big treasures in my store, I don't need that kind of **** at all."

"Then we need to talk alone." After checking the camera, David pointed to the waiter at the counter next to him, "Either let them leave, or follow me to the police station."

The boss turned to the two waiters selling guns, "Go to the back to sort out the inventory."

David tapped his finger on the photo of the Taser on the counter, "I need a list of customers who bought this gun."

"As I said, modified tasers are not sold here." The boss' tone was firm.

David picked up the rifle parts on the counter and began to assemble, "The civilian version of the M16 semi-automatic rifle, the magazine can only hold 10 rounds of bullets. Although it is a little less, it is enough to smash your shop."

   "Are you scaring me?"

"When I finish assembling, I will shoot if you don't tell me."

The boss looked at Luke, "Sir, I've been threatened, won't you stop him?"

  Luke hesitated.

According to the regulations of the police station, he should indeed stop David to prevent further trouble.

But reason told him he couldn't do that.

As a partner, even if you don’t agree with David’s way of investigating the case, you can’t argue in front of the person under investigation... You must support him at this moment.

"With so many guns in your store, it's normal for them to go off occasionally.

We also came to help when we heard gunshots. If you are injured, I will call 911 for you. Luke knelt down, plugged his ears,

"This **** can do anything, please ask yourself."

David assembled the gun, loaded the bullet, pointed at the boss's forehead,

"Time is up!"

The boss raised his hands, "Don't shoot! I said. But I won't recognize you when you leave this door."

"I just want the client list, I don't care about other shit."

The boss's forehead was covered with fine beads of sweat, "There is only one modified Taser gun in the store, and I only sold it to him."

   "Why lie?"

"I don't want to get in trouble."

"Where did the modified Taser come from?"

"It was sold in the store by a man nicknamed 'The Postman'."

   "Why help him sell?"

"A normal taser gun sells for one thousand dollars, and a modified taser gun can sell for three thousand dollars. I just want to see if it's good to sell."

"I want his real name, contact information?"

"I don't know, he found the store on his own initiative.

We are a cash transaction, he is well-known in gun modification, everyone calls him 'postman'. "

"If you dare to lie or hide something..."

"I swear to God, that's all I know."

David wiped the handle of the M16 with a cotton cloth and put it back on the counter, "I'll give you a suggestion, the monitor still needs to be installed."

Luke and the two left the gun store.

After getting in the car, Luke put away the pistol, leaned on the seat and let out a long sigh of relief, "You've passed."

David drank half a bottle of mineral water, "I know this kind of person, if he doesn't do this, he won't say anything."

"You're too aggressive, there are other ways. I don't want to fight in a gun store with a Glock and make me feel like an idiot."

"This is the fastest way." After David finished speaking, he glanced at Luke again, "You really have changed."

   "One must always mature."

As a former Hua Guo criminal policeman, Luke is very uncomfortable with this method of investigation.

For the first time in my life, I was negotiating with others in a room full of guns and ammunition.

He was always worried that two clerks would show up out of nowhere with semi-automatic rifles and shoot.

   "Fuck!"

Never perform missions with this lunatic next time.

  …

Luke got out of the car halfway.

My legs are still a little weak when I walk, which feels very uncomfortable.

   Fly bar.

Business hours from 11 am to 2 am.

Luke entered the bar, the hall was empty, and there were more waiters than customers.

Bartender Danny was a little surprised, "Luke, this is the first time I've seen you at noon."

"Me too."

   "What would you like?"

Luke sat at the bar, "A curry chicken rice."

   "Where's the drink?"

"Don't trick me into making mistakes. If I get fired from the police department, I won't be able to take care of your business."

"You came all the way here just to eat curry chicken rice?"

Luke took out a scratch-off from his pocket and put it on the bar, "I exchanged it before I finished lunch.

  I want cash. "

   "Wow, you won $8,000!"

"Is there a problem?"

"No, it's just that I've played scratch games for so many years, and it's never been more than five hundred dollars.

Man, you are so lucky. "

Luke is also aware of this problem. It’s okay to win a lottery once or twice.

Luke needs a long-term and reasonable realization channel.

After eating, Luke got the money smoothly.

   This idea is more firm.

The $8,000 bonus was only about $7,000 in Luke's hands.

Lottery winnings are taxable, and the higher the winning amount, the higher the tax rate.

To be precise, what Luke needs is a long-term cash flow channel that can reasonably avoid taxes...
