Los Angeles Detective

Chapter 39: arrest

  Chapter 39 Arrest

Dave was knocked down by the door and fell heavily to the ground.

By the time he reacted, his hands were handcuffed and a 'Miranda' warning was read out.

"Fuck, is there something wrong with you? Why did you break into my house." Dave shouted angrily.

  Susan asked, "Where is Alisa?"

"Do you have a search warrant?"

Luke showed the search warrant and arrest warrant, "Mr. Lawyer, we have everything you want."

Dave raised his head and took a deep breath, "I can tell you, but I want to see her again."

  Susan nodded, "Go ahead."

"She's in the basement, the key is in my coat pocket, don't scare her."

Marcus stared at the big eyes, "Wow, I heard that right, how come it seems that we are the bad guys?"

Dave ignored Marcus and asked Luke, "How did you find me?"

"very curious?"

"Of course, I think I didn't make any mistakes."

"I'm also very interested in your motive and process of committing the crime, let's have a good chat later."

   "OK."

   Jenny helped Alisa out.

Alisa was covered with a blanket, staring at Dave, choked up, "You self-righteous bastard, I told you to let me go. Now you are arrested by the police, wait to go to jail."

Dave squeezed out a smile, "Alyssa, I don't regret it. If I do it all over again, I will do it again. At least, you belong to me during this time."

"You crazy, I never want to see you again." Alisa said and left.

David gave Dave a push, "Hey, stop being a lover, it's time for you to find a new home."

Dave stood beside the police car, and took another look at his second-floor villa, "Please be careful when your colleagues search, I spent a lot of money on decoration."

David smiled, "Don't worry about it, this place has nothing to do with you."

  …

Dave was taken back to the police station for custody.

The on-site investigation continued until the early morning, and the BMW was also pulled back to the police station.

Tonight, Luke worked overtime for the first time, voluntarily.

After so many days of hard inspection, the fool will leave when it is time to show his face.

At two o'clock in the morning, Luke sat in the office and yawned. During this period of time, he had a relatively comfortable life, and he was not used to working overtime all night.

   "Crackling..."

The door of the office was pushed open, and a middle-aged black man in police uniform walked in.

Deputy Director of the Police Detective Bureau, Director of the Robbery and Murder Department, Rhett Hussein.

Director Rhett put a handbag on the table, "Thank you for your hard work, I brought you a supper."

"Hey, you are so sweet, my stomach has already protested..." Marcus grinned his thick lips, and swung his right hand to make a fist bump.

Rett didn't respond, and Marcus withdrew his hand in embarrassment.

"You can take whatever you want, you're welcome." Reid replied politely, and took out breakfast from the bag and handed it to the deputy team, "Your hot dog and nonfat vanilla latte."

The deputy team laughed, "Wow, I didn't expect it to be so many years, you still remember."

Rett patted his heart, "I remember everything you said."

Luke was also hungry, so he took a donut and a carton of milk.

Rett took the initiative to say hello, "Luke, I heard that you have done a good job recently, and you also discovered Dave's clue."

"I just did what I should do. The main thing is that you and the captain and deputy team leader are good."

Rett was a little surprised, and smiled, "Young man has a future, I am optimistic about you."

Director Reid chatted with the team members for a while, but didn't mention much about the case. Before leaving, he said to Susan, "Captain, get Dave's statement as soon as possible."

"I will."

After watching the director leave, David pouted at Luke, "You really know how to flatter."

"It's called flattery for someone who has no ability to say that. For someone like me who has just made meritorious service, it's called humility."

  David chuckled.

Luke joked, "Would you like to add you next time? The director, the captain, the deputy team, and Inspector David."

"No, I'm afraid of being laughed to death."

Susan finished eating the hamburger, took a sip of coffee, and asked Jenny, "How is Alisa?"

"There is no serious physical problem, but I was frightened and emotionally unstable."

"Take her to the police station and we have to talk to her before interrogating Dave."

   "Yes, captain."

  …

An hour later, Alisa came to the lounge of the Robbery and Murder Division.

Luke and Jenny take her notes, and Susan listens.

Luke made a brief self-introduction, straight to the point, "Alyssa, were you kidnapped by Dave?"

"Yes."

"Does Dave have any other accomplices?"

"Probably not, I've only seen him alone."

   "Where's Steven?"

"No, this matter has nothing to do with Steven, he did not kidnap me."

Susan was a little surprised. The police thought that Steven was absconding in fear of crime, and that he and Dave were accomplices. "Did Dave mention Steven?"

   Alisa repeated what Dave said.

After listening, the three policemen present were a little surprised.

The real suspect is Dave, and Steven is just a scapegoat who has been limped.

Dave was locked in the trunk, not because the two played the oboe, but because of his self-directed and self-acted bitter trick.

After a moment of silence, Luke took out a photo of Tony Will, "Do you know this person?"

Alisa looked carefully, "I don't know."

"Can you describe the process of being kidnapped?"

Alisa pinched her forehead, "Can I...can I have some wine?"

"No, it's best to take notes while awake." Susan said earnestly, "Alyssa, I know this is difficult and it will make you feel painful.

Dave is a lawyer, smart, cunning, and familiar with the process of handling cases.

We must be cautious in the process of handling the case, and there must be no mistakes in the slightest. Otherwise, once Dave catches the loophole, he is likely to be exonerated. "

"You're right, he's a terrible bastard." Alisa took a deep breath, mustered up her courage, and described the case.

“Once I was performing at a club and Dave saw it and told me not to continue dancing in the club.

also promised me a lot of money if I resigned from the club and left Steven.

I didn't say yes, Dave was so angry that he took a picture of me dancing and put it at my parents' house.

  We had a big fight.

On the night of March 4th, I finished the performance.

Dave came to me and said he wanted to talk to me, and I got in his car.

He again offered me to resign, leave Steve, and let me live the life I wanted.

   I declined again.

Afterwards, he stunned me with a taser, and he took me home and imprisoned me in the basement.

I kept begging him to let me go until you saved me.

Thank you, thank you so much.

If it wasn't for your timely rescue, I don't know how long I can last. "Alyssa couldn't help crying.

Luke wrote down the key points in his notebook, "How do you know it was Dave who put the photo at your parents' house? He admitted it himself?"

"I guess, who else but him?"

Luke took out another photo of Harry, "Do you know him?"

Alisa took a closer look, "Yes, he is a guest of the club, and he had conflicts with me."

"He put the photo, and it was put in your courier cabinet."

Alisa sighed softly, "I wronged Dave? If I hadn't misunderstood him, wouldn't I have been kidnapped?" Alisa frowned slightly as if remembering something, "It's really Steve Wen put the photo at my parents' house on purpose?"

"Yes, Steven has confessed, which is why the police suspect him."

Alisa cried, "Why did he do this, why did he treat me like this? Did he think I wanted to dance off? He hasn't had a job for two or three years, and I was laid off by the company. I can't always rely on Parents help.

If it wasn't for supporting the family, how could I do this kind of thing? Who am I for? "

Alisa cried for a while before her emotions stabilized.

Luke hands her some tissues and asks, "Did Dave mention the $15,000 thing?"

Alisa wiped away her tears, "Yes, Dave also showed me the IOU, do you know what my husband borrows money for?"

"Steven used the money to rent a shop, and wants to open a restaurant, and I will give you a surprise." Luke checked Dave's bank for a large amount of funds flow, and there was a large amount of cash disbursement around February 10.

It matches the rent and time that Steven used to lease the store, and what Alisa said also proves this.

"Really?"

   "That's what the landlord said."

"Dave is a liar, he must know about this, otherwise it would be impossible to lend money to Steven. He also framed Steven for fooling around outside. I almost believed him."

Luke secretly thought, you are not the only one who was deceived? The police have also been led by the nose.

Dave lent money to Steven to rent a shop, not out of kindness.

According to the driving record of the BMW, Dave has been to that store more than once.

Dave used the store to set up a bureau, making people mistakenly think that Alisa was killed, and Steven was suspected of robbery and murder.

Steven was fooled into running away by him. Once he learned that he was wanted by the police, he would not dare to return to Los Angeles easily.

If the police can't catch Steven, the truth of the case can't be revealed.

Dave is still that respected lawyer, Alisa has also become a 'dead person', no one would have thought that she was locked in the basement of Dave's house.

If Luke hadn't discovered the clues of the white BMW, Dave would probably have escaped the punishment of the law.
