Chapter 44 Tavern and Inquiry (please recommend)

The tavern is the base of most gangsters and the most well-informed place.

Whether there is any important news from the outside world or interesting news in the city, it is easy to spread here and be used as a talking point by people who are drinking and having fun.

Under the leadership of Edward, Arthur came to a pub called the Brave Man.

The tavern is not big, but its appearance is similar to the taverns in the western cowboy movies that I watched in my previous life. There is a neon sign with the word "brave" hanging on the top.

"When I used to beg, if I couldn't get food for my stutter, I would come here as a cook."

Edward pointed to an alley behind the tavern and said with a smile.

"The owner of the tavern is very kind. He often gives us the leftover food from some guests. Sometimes he will give us a sip of ale when he is in a good mood."

"So, Boss Arthur, you said you needed to find a tavern to get some information, so I subconsciously brought you here."

Arthur turned his head, looked at the sadness and sorrow in Edward's eyes, smiled gently, and reached out to pat his shoulder:

"Then I want to thank this boss very much."

Then Arthur strode forward, pushed open the butterfly spring door of the tavern, and entered the tavern.

Probably because it was early in the morning, there were not many people in the tavern. Apart from the middle-aged man at the bar who was wiping his glass with his head down, there was only a young man in a black suit sitting slumped in the corner to the left of the door.

He is said to be a young man, but he looks quite young, about twenty-seven or seventy-eight years old. He has an unshaven beard and black hair shawl. He is a bit slovenly. He is wearing a yellowish white shirt and a black suit, and underneath he is a dusty black pair. Gray woolen trousers and a pair of worn-out black leather shoes.

The young man's suit was open and three buttons of his shirt were undone, revealing a chest covered with black hair. A pair of lazy brown eyes were quietly looking at the ale in his hand, wondering what he was thinking.

Arthur just took a brief look at this young man who fit his image of a gangster, then turned his head, went straight to the bar, pulled out a round stool, and sat down.

Edward followed Arthur, followed suit, pulled out a round stool, sat next to Arthur, and looked at the middle-aged man at the bar with some gratitude.

The middle-aged man at the bar has a dark green beard, slightly curly long hair tied into a ponytail behind his head, and is tall and strong, holding up a large black shirt.

The man's temperament is calm, like an unbreakable rock, and his tall and strong figure is intimidating.

Judging from Edward's reaction, it was clear that he was the owner of this tavern.

The tavern owner raised his head, his eyes wandering, and he glanced at the two unfamiliar faces in front of him. After looking at the swords hanging on their waists, he turned around and put the glass in his hand with Put down the rag.

Then he turned back, put his hands on the bar, looked at the two people, and said with a smile: "What do you want?"

Arthur looked around at the bottles of wine behind the boss, which he didn't recognize, and tapped on the bar. He showed no stage fright and calmly showed his wealth.

"Give us two of your most expensive drinks."

The boss was stunned for a moment, with a strange look in his eyes. He looked at the two of them again and then said, "Okay, that's two glasses of red wine."

However, just as the boss turned around to pour the wine, a lazy voice sounded from behind Arthur.

"Hey, Allen, what he wants is your most expensive wine. What do you mean by pouring red grapes?"

"Isn't the most expensive cherry brandy from Dexili here?"

Arthur raised his brows and did not look back. He just looked at the strong man in front of him in surprise.

Is it because they are worried that we can't afford it, or because they are worried that we won't be used to drinking it, so they changed the type of alcohol for us without authorization.

This boss is really kind.

However, the names of the drinks here seem to be no different from those in the previous life. Cherry brandy is a distilled bar made from cherries. Remember, the degree of brandy is not low, it must be about 40 degrees.

"Drink your wine, Wei Li, and mix it with nothing."

Allen, the owner of the tavern, turned around and yelled angrily at the man in a black suit in the corner. Then he looked at the two Arthurs and spread his hands helplessly.

"Two customers, look"

Arthur glanced at Edward, then smiled at the boss and said, "I want a glass of cherry brandy, and give him a glass of red wine."

Edward didn't have any objections to this. Anyway, he had never drunk any kind of wine, and he had no interest in it. It would be the same if he drank anything.

The boss, Allen, nodded, said nothing more, and turned around to pour the wine.

Not long after, a glass of golden cherry brandy and a glass of red grapes as red as blood were placed in front of Arthur and Edward respectively.

Arthur took a sip gently. The taste was sweet and spicy, not bad. He couldn't help but nodded. Edward also took a sip of red wine, but frowned.

"I think the customers look like strangers, they don't look like people from here."

The boss Allen picked up another wine glass and wiped it while chatting with Arthur. Allen, who had a good eye, could naturally see that Arthur was the one who made the decision between the two.

Arthur took another sip of wine, letting the spiciness linger in his throat, and responded with a smile: "We just arrived and are preparing to settle here."

Then, without giving the boss a chance to answer, he continued: "Speaking of which, my partner is just about to thank the boss."

"Oh thank me"

The boss was a little stunned now, turned around, and looked at Edward carefully.

This young man is not very old, only fourteen or fifteen years old, with red hair and red eyes.

"Could it be that"

The boss Allen looked at Edward in surprise, "You have red hair."

I would often take some leftover food to feed the homeless beggars, and occasionally chat with me, so I naturally recognized Hongmao who used to come here often.

"I haven't seen you for half a year. I thought you were dead. I didn't expect you."

Allen looked Edward up and down, and smiled heartily: "Very good, very good, much stronger."

Not sure if it was because of the alcohol or the excitement of seeing his benefactor again, Edward's face turned red and he said repeatedly with gratitude:

"Thank you, thank you for taking care of me in the past"

"Hey" Allen smiled and waved his hand, "It's nothing, I just have some leftovers, nothing more."

Seeing that the two of them were almost chatting, Arthur intervened and said with a smile:

"We are here mainly to thank you and inquire about the situation here. Of course, we are willing to pay a corresponding price for the information."

Perhaps because of Edward, the tavern owner Allen looked at Arthur with a much kinder look and said with a smile:

"I'll tell you briefly about the situation here. You don't have to give me Bailey. These are the basic situations that everyone knows."

Then Allen coughed lightly and introduced slowly.
