Elf Story from Another World

Chapter 128: String Sound (2)

Chapter 128

"You look in pain." Liya said softly, "Did the wound open again?"

She touched Max's head gently, as if she was afraid of scaring him: "You'd better have a good rest."

Max looked at her blankly, and suddenly smiled helplessly: "I'm fine, the wound doesn't hurt."

"But you looked in pain just now." Liya said stubbornly, "If the pain is really unbearable, I can cook you some medicine."

"Thank you, but you really don't need it." Max moved his head back. He felt that he had not fallen to the point where he needed the comfort of a little girl. The remaining self-esteem in his heart made him bite the bullet and say: " I am fine."

Liya hesitated for a moment, and then asked: "Are the things you saw just now your nightmare?"

"Nothing." Max shook his head, not wanting to continue talking about this topic.

"I saw fire, a fire that could turn the sky red."

"That's just my random thoughts when I was reading the story when I was a kid." Max turned around, put his hand in front of his mouth, and made a silent gesture: "Please, don't talk about it anymore."

"Who are those people who were burned?" Liya asked stubbornly, regardless of how he wanted to change the topic: "Who are those people who were burning in the fire?"

"I told you, I don't want to talk about this," Max suddenly became angry and roared.

Liya was startled and jumped down from the bed, watching Max suddenly cover the wound in his stomach.

That roar caused Max's hard-healed wound to open again, and now it hurt so much that he felt like he was dying.

"Are you okay?" Liya swallowed and said, "Do you need me to mix some painkillers for you?"

"I didn't need it just now, but now I need it." Max waved his hand, trying to send him away: "It's best to cook it longer."

The wound on his body hurt so much that he couldn't even speak. There was a trace of red on the bandage, and it looked like there was a lot of blood.

Liya nodded slightly, then turned and left.

Max looked up at Liya who was slowly leaving. Under her white skirt, her slender calves were covered with bandages. Those bandages made him very curious, but now he didn't want to explore what was under these bandages.

Now in his mind, that picture became lingering again, every detail was so real. A few years later, he recalled that nightmare again.

Just like the fire left him in the fire, the one acting now is just a person who has been deprived of his soul.

"Max, you are such a waste." Max covered his face with his hands: "You scared her."

That kind girl didn't do anything wrong, and those things had nothing to do with her, but he himself allowed these negative emotions to be passed on to her.

This is really something that damages one's morality. Max is still very concerned about these things that harm one's morality. After all, if he can't go to heaven after his death, he won't be able to see his family.

"I put the medicine here." Liya put a bowl on the bedside: "Drink it when you want to go to bed. This will make you sleep more comfortably."

Max nodded slightly, then picked up the bowl and took a whole bowl of soup in several mouthfuls, completely ignoring whether it was just cooked.

"Sorry." Max looked at Liya who was about to turn around, slowly put down the bowl, hesitated and said, "I'm really sorry, I wanted to make you happy."

Liya was suddenly stunned, then lowered her head slightly: "It's nothing. You have experienced some things that you don't want to remember, right?"

Max suddenly stopped talking. He lay down silently without making a sound.

Maybe the medicine was too effective, or maybe he didn't want to say it. In short, after Liya waited for a while and realized that waiting was a waste of time, she heard him say something in a very soft voice.

"It's not that I don't want to remember, maybe I'm just blaming myself for being incompetent." Max's voice was very soft: "If I could be like my brothers, maybe this wouldn't be the ending."
