Chapter 353: Conquering Moria
Jin An gently placed the knife on Moonlight Moria's neck. The blade was cold and almost touching Moria's skin.
The corners of his mouth slightly raised, revealing a playful smile:
"How about it? Still want to take my shadow?"
Moria widened his eyes, staring at the blade that was only 1 cm away from his neck, and cold sweat instantly broke out on his forehead.
His whole body was stiff, he hardly dared to move, his heartbeat echoing in his chest like a drum.
He swallowed his saliva and squeezed out a voice with a dry laugh:
"General Jin'an, what you said is true. You are like an elder brother to me. How could I have the intention to take your shadow? If you tell me to go east, I will never go west. Just now... just now I was just joking with you."
Jin An's eyes moved slightly, staring at Moria with a smile, his tone was mocking:
"Oh? Am I your big brother now?"
Moria nodded repeatedly, his eyes full of fear and flattery:
"That's right! You are my long lost half brother!"
His voice was trembling, but he still forced a smile, trying to defuse the crisis.
Jin An's eyes did not fluctuate at all, he just looked at Moria quietly.
That indifferent look seemed to be able to tear apart all the disguises in people's hearts one by one, leaving them nowhere to hide.
Moria's heart sank. He felt like a prey cornered in front of Jin An, without even a chance to escape.
Moria forced a smile and added quickly:
"Just treat me like a fart and let me go..."
He spoke in a lower and lower voice, as if he was afraid that saying one wrong word would bring about his own death.
His eyes were fixed on Jin An's expression, trying to find any sign of relaxation.
However, there was still no change on Jin An's face, and the cold blade showed no sign of retreating.
Just when Moria felt that he was almost suffocating, Jin An finally laughed and slowly retracted the knife.
At that moment, Moria felt that his neck was finally redeemed, and his whole body collapsed as if a heavy burden had been lifted off his shoulders. Even his breathing became much easier.
"You are quite courageous." Jin An said calmly, with a hint of joking in his tone, "But, Moria, you'd better remember that I let you go this time not because you said something nice, but because... you are still useful."
Moria nodded repeatedly, secretly relieved, but he didn't dare to show it, for fear of angering Jin An again.
He knew very well that letting Jin An go did not mean real safety, but was more like a warning.
"Thank you, General Jin An. From now on, you are my savior!"
Moriah quickly flattered him, his tone extremely flattering.
Jin An didn't say anything else, just snorted softly, turned around and left the battlefield.
Moria watched his back gradually disappear, and the feeling of approaching death in his heart finally subsided.
He raised his hand to wipe the cold sweat from his forehead. He felt both grateful for surviving the disaster and deeply afraid of the invisible oppression from Jin'an.
"Jin'an..." Moriah murmured to himself in a low voice, with a complex emotion flashing in his eyes.
He understood that Jin An was an opponent that should not be easily provoked.
Moreover, he had to find a way to keep himself safe in the next situation, even if it meant temporarily succumbing to Jin An's pressure.
In this ocean, survival is far more important than dignity.
......
Jin An stepped onto the deck of the warship and as soon as he looked up, he was greeted by deafening cheers.
All the naval soldiers lined up neatly, looking at him excitedly, with admiration and worship in their eyes.
Jin An was slightly startled, then revealed a faint smile, but felt an invisible pressure in his heart.
Most of these soldiers were new recruits transferred from his headquarters after he was appointed general.
They may have heard the legend of Jin An in their hearts, but today, they witnessed the duel between Jin An and Moonlight Moria with their own eyes, and the real shock made them unable to control themselves.
The soldiers moved forward, their eyes filled with excitement and admiration.
"General, you are so strong!"
"That guy Moria is no match for you at all!"
"This is the true strength of the Admiral!"
"..."
Jin An stood in front of them with a faint smile on his face. He swept his eyes over the soldiers and saw the admiration and fanaticism in their eyes.
I feel a little complicated.
These young faces may have only heard rumors about him, but have never truly understood the price of power.
Their cheers and admiration made him feel happy, but at the same time, it also made him realize that his position was no longer just that of a simple warrior, but a legend in the eyes of these people.
"You did a great job." Jin An nodded, his tone calm but firm, "This mission is our first, and we will carry out many missions together in the future."
The soldiers were even more excited by Jin'an's affirmation. They waved their fists vigorously and shouted Jin'an's name.
The excitement spread across the deck, as if even the air was ignited.
Jinan felt the soldiers' enthusiasm, but sighed in his heart.
After becoming a general, he found that he had become a symbol in the eyes of many people - a symbol of strength, a symbol of victory, and even a symbol of hope.
This symbol also makes his responsibilities even heavier.
"Everyone, don't be happy too soon. There are still many tasks waiting for us ahead." Jin An waved his hand gently, signaling everyone to be quiet.
Although his voice was not loud, it carried an irresistible majesty that quickly calmed the cheers.
The soldiers stopped smiling and stood straighter.
They knew that although Jin An did not say it explicitly, the determination in his eyes told them that the road ahead would not be easy.
"Haha, who would be afraid of those missions now that they are in the navy?"
"We joined the navy to hunt down pirates."
"..."
Every move and every word of Jinan seemed to carry an invisible power, deeply affecting these soldiers.
After dealing with Moria's affairs, he stood at the bow and looked at the gloomy fog in the distance.
He had accomplished the main goal of this operation - to recruit Moonlight Moriah.
Now, in this strange Devil's Triangle, the only thing that interested him was the old skeleton - Brook.
After arranging the tasks for the navy, Jin An did not rush back to the warship, but decided to take a walk around the terrifying three-masted sailboat.
