The moment Gerling walked into the academy, he was deeply shocked by the scene before him. The once busy and lively classroom was now empty, with only a few tables and chairs standing quietly, as if waiting for their former owners to return. He felt vaguely uneasy, and then a cool breeze blew past, breaking the silence.

"Gerlin." A deep voice suddenly came from behind him. He turned around and found that it was his former mentor, Professor Irwin. Irwin looked a little tired, with a frown on his face, as if he was worried about something.

"Professor." Gerling immediately ran towards Alvin, his tone full of concern, "How did the school become like this? Why are all the apprentices gone?"

Alvin sighed and pointed to the window of the teaching building. It was raining outside and the sky was gloomy. "In the past few months, the academy has encountered unprecedented difficulties. Many apprentices chose to give up due to mission failures, and those who stayed behind began to doubt the concepts we taught."

"This can't go on! We have to do something!" Gerling was emotional and clenched his fists.

"But what can we do? As a mentor, I once thought I could lead them out of their predicament, but now..." Alvin's voice became lower and lower, and finally almost inaudible.

There was a heavy atmosphere in the air. Gerlin took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. "I think I can ask those apprentices and see what they think. Maybe we can find a solution."

"Go ahead." Alvin nodded slightly, a glimmer of hope in his eyes, "But be careful, negative emotions spread quickly during this period of time."

Gellin knew that his first priority was to get to the apprentice dormitory area. He walked quickly through the empty corridors, thinking about the past glory of the academy, as if it was yesterday. He finally arrived at the dormitory area and gently pushed open a door. He saw that the room inside was still simple as before, and several apprentices were discussing in low voices, with sorrowful faces.

"What are you talking about?" Gerling tried to break the silence and walked into the room.

"Oh, Gerlin." One of the apprentices, Linda, looked up with anxiety in her eyes. "We are discussing whether we should continue to stay in the academy. Many people have chosen to leave."

"Leave?" Gerling was puzzled. "The academy can pick itself up again. We can't just give up like this!"

"But we have our own lives too," said another apprentice, Kyle, frustratedly. "The failure of a mission often means tremendous pressure. I don't know how long I can hold on."

"But what about our ideals?" Gerlin frowned, "Aren't you here to make this academy better?"

At this time, Linda nodded firmly. "Ideals are of course important, but the reality of life is also forcing us. We have endured too much. Maybe this time we should really think about the path we are going to take."

"I know the difficulties you are facing." Gelling tried to convince them, "but we must unite and face the challenges together. If everyone chooses to give up, the college will really perish."

"Your words sound so beautiful, but ideals and reality are often at odds with each other." Kyle's voice was full of helplessness. The other apprentices remained silent, and the atmosphere became increasingly solemn.

"I will find new ways to inspire you and revitalize this academy!" The fire in Gerlin's heart was ignited, and he strengthened his belief. "I will go to Professor Irving and try to redesign our courses and task assignments to provide more practical help to each apprentice. We can use joint tasks to build trust among companions!"

Everyone looked at each other, as if they were infected by Gellin's enthusiasm, and gradually a gleam of light flashed in their eyes. Linda smiled and encouraged: "I am willing to try, Gellin. Even if we lose, at least we have tried our best."

"Right." Kyle nodded, his tone slightly softer, "We should give it a try."

Feeling unprecedented motivation, Garlin said goodbye to his apprentices, ran back to Irving's office, and excitedly told the professor about his plan.

"I think we can try different combinations of tasks and let the apprentices complete them together. This will not only reduce individual pressure, but also enhance their sense of solidarity." Gerling's enthusiasm infected Alvin, and a glimmer of hope flashed in the latter's eyes.

"That's a good idea." Alvin nodded, and the wrinkles between his brows seemed to relax a little. "We need to move forward step by step. According to the current situation, we can start with simple cooperative tasks and then gradually upgrade."

"Yes! A cooperative mission!" Gellin seemed to have touched the sunshine of hope. "I will personally contact the apprentices and ask them to participate in this plan!"

In the following days, Gerling visited the apprentice dormitories door to door, actively promoting this new plan. Although he encountered many doubts and concerns, he still worked hard to persevere. His enthusiasm gradually infected the apprentices in the dormitory, and several of them began to show enthusiasm for returning to the academy.

Finally, in a simple collective task, the apprentices formed a team. They needed to collect a certain number of historical relics within a day. The seemingly simple task revealed many problems during the cooperation.

"Kyle, you take charge of that area. Linda and I will go to the hillside to check it out. We set the time limit to two hours." Gerling arranged the team carefully. Soon after, they set off.

During this collaboration, Gelling realized how important it was to have a sense of cooperation among team members. Kyle's discovery at the foot of the mountain significantly improved everyone's collection efficiency, and Linda's quick response also made Gelling feel the power of the team.

"Everyone, come here!" Kyle suddenly shouted. Gerlin and Linda ran over quickly and saw Kyle squatting next to a big rock with a mysterious stone shining next to him.

"Is this a historical relic?" Linda asked in surprise.

"I think it might be," said Gerling excitedly.

They carefully lifted the stone and found several similar relics underneath. In just two hours, they collected more than they expected, and the laughter was endless.

Back at the academy, the apprentices were filled with a sense of accomplishment. Seeing everyone's enthusiasm, Gerling secretly rejoiced that this plan seemed to have achieved unexpected results.
