The most powerful wizard in the magic world

Chapter 61 In the Devil's Clutch

Naanman held the bottle of antidote given by Gerlin in her hand. Through the weak light from the bottle, she felt a complex emotion. Standing in the old study, she felt the heaviness of time. The walls were covered with paintings that told stories of the old times. It seemed that every painting was telling the glory and sorrow of the past.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Her slightly trembling voice broke the silence, her face full of struggle. The power of attorney and control tools lay quietly on the table, as if silently waiting for her decision.

"We have no choice." Gerlin sighed a little tiredly, pushed the metal glasses on his nose, and turned his eyes from the dim paintings back to Naanman. "Freiza's power is growing day by day. If it is not controlled, the whole kingdom will fall into his clutches."

"But we may also lose ourselves." Naanman's voice was low, with a spark of anxiety flashing in his eyes. "You and I both know the price of controlling power."

"I understand your concerns, but this is the only way." Gerling's tone was firm, as if he was making a final defense for the upcoming decision. The room was filled with an unknown and tense atmosphere, making every word seem particularly heavy.

Naanman held the bottle of antidote tightly, his eyes wandering, "If I use this antidote, Freiza will lose his power, but how can I ensure that he won't fight back?"

"That's the risk you need to weigh." There was a hint of helplessness and determination in Gerlin's voice, "But if we don't take action, once Freiza's power is fully established, we may lose everything."

She looked down at the antidote. The glittering liquid seemed to contain great power. She was confused. Could she really carry out this decision? Or could she really bear the consequences?

"Let me do this." She suddenly raised her head and looked directly at Gerlin, with a hint of urgency in her tone.

"Naanman..." Gerlin was stunned, then frowned. "This is too dangerous. I can't agree to it."

"I have the ability." Her eyes were firm, and then they turned red. "I can't let more innocent people get hurt. If Freiza continues his unscrupulous control, it will only lead to greater tragedy."

"But you have to know that controlling him does not mean you can completely conquer him."

"I will find a way," Naanman said with even more confidence, "I am willing to bear the cost no matter what it is."

Gerling was silent, as if he was struggling fiercely in his heart. Finally, he could only sigh and say, "Well, since you are so determined, I will support you, but you must act with caution."

"I will." Naanman felt a little relieved, and the burden in her heart seemed to be relieved. She turned and walked to the table, slowly opening the box of the control tool. It was a set of delicate and complex devices, and each part released mysterious energy.

"You need to understand the purpose of these devices first." Gerling walked over to her and pointed at the components of the tools. "Delgut's secret lies in his weaknesses, and these tools can help you find his most vulnerable side."

As Gerlin explained, Naanman gradually drew up a grand blueprint in her mind. She imagined how she would use these tools and the antidote to eventually kill Freiza's power in the cradle.

"From now on, I will start training." Naanman's fighting spirit was ignited in her heart, and the confusion she once had seemed to disappear in an instant.

"Don't be impatient." Gerlin warned, "Although you are powerful, Freiza is as cunning as a fox. Make sure you stay calm."

"I understand." She gave Gerling a firm look, then opened the bottle cap of the antidote, gently poured the liquid into the test tube beside her, and began to prepare it.

There was a sound of footsteps outside the door. Naanman and Gerlin looked at each other and couldn't help but feel nervous.

"Who is coming?" Gerlin asked in a deep voice.

The door was slowly pushed open, and a strange figure walked in. It was a gloomy-looking man wearing a black cloak, and his face was unclear.

"What are you discussing?" The man's voice was low and cold, as if it came from endless darkness.

"I am Delgut's messenger." He looked at them with disdain, his tone full of unbridled threats, "I have heard about your plan."

Gerlin frowned slightly, secretly alert in his heart. But Naanman felt an unbearable pressure, as if the appearance of the messenger had disrupted her carefully woven plan.

"We don't need your intervention." Gerling responded coldly, but he knew that the person in front of him was not simple.

"Your attempt to control Freiza is in vain." The messenger smiled grimly, "He has already foreseen your intentions."

"What are you talking about?" Naanman questioned, the doubts in her heart rising and surfacing.

"Your indecision is exactly what he desires the most." The messenger approached step by step, like a beast lurking in the dark, ready to devour its prey at any time. "The tool to control him is nothing more than the shadow of the moon in the water. You cannot grasp the real power at all."

"Those are what I worked hard for." Naanman insisted, her heart was like rolling waves, crashing against the shore, passion and fear intertwined.

"Instead of believing in these empty things, you'd better understand as soon as possible that in the end you are just a pawn in this game." The messenger turned to leave, and the words he left behind pierced her heart like a strong wind.

"Who is he?" She stared at Gerlin with wide eyes, feeling extremely anxious.

"He is a spy sent by Freiza." Gerlin's expression became serious. "We need to act as soon as possible and not be discouraged by such things."

She once again tightened her grip on the control tool, and secretly made up her mind that the battle had just begun. When facing unknown challenges and enemies, a stronger belief ignited in her heart, and everything would start to change from here.
