"What are you doing, Gerling?" Suddenly, a low voice came from behind, breaking the silence.

Gerling was startled and turned around quickly to see his old friend Arno standing not far away. Arno's brows were slightly furrowed, and a worried look appeared on his face.

"I... I just want to take a look." Gerlin's tone was a little hesitant, and he tried his best to hide his inner panic. "This book seems to talk about some ancient spells. I think it's very interesting."

Arno took a step forward and said in a low but firm voice: "You know what this place is, right? The forbidden area is not a place for you and me to just wander around! The things inside are very dangerous!"

Arno hesitated, but finally took a step back, feeling uneasy, but he also knew that Gerling was always a passionate and exploratory person. "Okay, but at least let me wait for you outside."

"I promise it won't be long," Gelling swore, but he silently warned himself in his heart: Even when facing the fear of the unknown, he must never give up easily.

Arno shook his head helplessly, turned around and walked out, and the corridor returned to silence. Gerling lowered his head again and picked up the pages of the book again.
