In his hand, Gerlin held a slightly worn piece of paper with the name of his mentor, Doroth, on it, and a glimmer of hope ignited in his heart. Although he knew that Doroth was always strict, he had to get the incomplete official wizard information, which was crucial to his future.

"Gerlin, you're still here!" A familiar voice interrupted his thoughts. Grace came over, her long golden hair gleaming in the candlelight, as if imitating her lively personality.

"Yes, Grace." Garlin raised his head and smiled. "I'm looking at some materials about the lost history of wizards."

"Wizarding history? Very interesting." Grace made a face, put her hands on the bookshelf, raised her head and half-looked at Garlin, "Are you going to ask Teacher Dorot for advice again? He is not so easy to talk to."

"I know, but this time is different." Gerlin said firmly, "This information is very important to me. Maybe I can find some clues from it to help me master magic better."

"Do you trust him so much?" Grace raised her eyebrows. She felt that Gerlin was a little naive. "Doesn't Dorot like to challenge students?"

"I think he will appreciate my efforts." A hint of determination flashed in Gerling's eyes. He put down the note in his hand and looked directly into Grace's eyes. "If I don't fight for it, who will fight for me?"

"You have a point, but you have to be careful." Grace's tone was filled with concern, but the corners of her eyes inadvertently revealed encouragement, "I believe you can do it. If you need my help, feel free to tell me."

"Thank you, Grace." Gerling smiled slightly, feeling a little warm in his heart. He liked Grace's support and felt that his decision was more firm.

At this moment, the door of the library slowly opened, a faint light shone through the crack of the door, and a figure walked in. It was Teacher Doroth! He was wearing a black robe, and his long white beard was particularly conspicuous under the candlelight. He looked serious, like a guardian hidden in the shadows.

Gerlin's heart tightened, and he immediately stood up and straightened his clothes. Dorot walked closer, his eyes swept around, and then fixed on Gerlin, as if he noticed him to some extent.

"What are you doing here, boy?" Dorothea's voice was low and majestic, echoing in the quiet library.

"Teacher, I...I hope to ask you some incomplete official wizard information." Gerlin mustered up his courage and spoke stiffly, although he was actually a little afraid in his heart.

"Information?" Dorot was slightly startled, then showed a hint of interest and slowly approached, "This happened a long time ago, how did you think of this?"

"Because I want to further study magic, I think these ancient materials may help me understand some deeper truths." Gerlin tried to stay calm, but he was always thinking about how to convince his mentor.

"How do you think those incomplete materials can help you?" Dorot walked to the desk with a scrutinizing look on his face.

"I believe that history can inspire me," Garlin replied calmly, "By understanding the past, I can better create the future."

"Hmph, kid, it sounds like you have great ambitions." Dorot smiled contemptuously, "However, willpower is not enough to support you to go far. You have to understand that learning magic is a road full of thorns."

"I am willing to make an effort." Gerlin took a deep breath, his eyes shining with determination. "Please give me a chance. As long as I can get the information, I will do my best to study it."

Dorot stared at him, as if measuring his determination. Those deep eyes made Gerlin's heart tighten. He knew that this moment was particularly important to him.

"Okay, I can consider giving you one." Dorot's voice softened a little, but still serious. "But it's not free. You must complete a task I gave you first."

"Mission?" Gerlin's heart trembled and he asked subconsciously.

"Yes. I need you to find an ancient book called The Lost Book of Wizards, which may be hidden in the basement of the library. I have some special research on this book and want to see if you can find it." Dorothe's eyes seemed to see through Gerlin and into the depths of his soul.

"I'll go find it, mentor!" Garlin answered without hesitation, but secretly prayed in his heart that the book would be as he wished and help him reach a higher level of wizardry.

"Also, remember, be careful of the soul guards in the basement." Dorot's face showed a trace of vigilance, "They don't like outsiders."

"Soul Guardian?" Gerlin was shocked and clenched his fists tightly, feeling a little uneasy.

"That's right," Dorot's mouth curled up a meaningful smile, "On the road to pursuing knowledge, punishment and price are indispensable. You need to be prepared."

"I will," Gelling nodded. Although he had doubts in his heart, his deep-rooted desire for knowledge made him move forward fearlessly. "Then I'll go to the basement now!"

"Wait, young man." Dorot called him, his expression becoming serious again. "I hope you can understand that while seeking knowledge, you must also understand the responsibility involved. Power is a double-edged sword, and you must deeply understand the terrible consequences of mastering it."

"I understand," Gelling responded seriously, although he was nervous. "I will face this mission with caution."

"Very good, go ahead, Gerlin." Dorot nodded slightly, turned around and prepared to leave. A loud spell flowed gently from his lips, and it seemed that a whisper suddenly rose among the bookshelves behind him.
