Gerlin stood in the center of the square under the sun, playing with the badge he got from Soran and the blonde apprentice. The badge emitted a faint light, as if telling some unfinished story. Twenty or thirty contribution points, this briefly flashing metal was a strong guarantee for his next action.

"This is my first time experiencing this kind of transaction, and I can actually get such a precious thing from those people." Gerlin muttered to himself, his lips slightly raised, his heart full of a sense of accomplishment.

"You kid, did you get a bargain?" The old armored man beside him, Al, walked over slowly with a teasing smile on his face. "I've never seen you look like this before. It seems that these high-level apprentices are not as amazing as you think."

"Of course, I'm not taking advantage of this. This is the result of my hard work." Gerling raised his head slightly and responded with pride, "You know, this is not just a badge, it also carries their former status and responsibilities."

Al thought to himself, but still couldn't help asking in detail: "What are you going to do with these badges? If you sell them and exchange them for contribution points, I'm afraid a lot of people will be jealous."

"Do I need to sell them?" Gerlin chuckled, his eyes twinkling. "I can use these badges to replace the badges of other apprentices, continue to climb up, and exchange them for more advanced resources in the club."

"Are you going to keep doing this?" Al looked at the young man carefully with deep eyes. "You will get into trouble one day, especially when you cross the bottom line of those people."

"You also said that this place is full of competition. Yes, I will encounter troubles, but it is meaningless to just wait for opportunities." Gerling's tone was decisive, "I must take the initiative. There is no doubt that the future will not be smooth sailing."

The old armor was surprised and murmured, "It seems that you have really grown up. So what are you going to do now?"

Gerling paused, looked up at the light in the sky, took a deep breath, and seemed to be brewing a grand plan: "I want to build my own power, no longer be a pawn under others, but dare to command, make decisions and control everything."

"Control everything?" Al shook his head. "Don't underestimate the competition here. It might backfire on you."

"I have my own way." Gellin raised his lips, with a slight surge of confidence. He fiddled with the badge, as if he was thinking of something big.

"This is no joke." Al's tone was a little serious. "I don't know if this trip can still return with a full load. If we get caught in the whirlpool, it will be more trouble than it's worth."

"I won't be fooled." Gerlin looked at Al seriously, the confidence on his face not retreating, "I now understand more and more, and can feel the operation of this system. But I need more information and further observation."

"Did you know that the blonde female apprentice was almost involved in that fight?" Al said like an experienced elder. "Her background is not as simple as you think. She is also a very eye-catching target."

"I think it's an achievement to get her badge. The strong will be favored here." Gerlin smiled slightly, his eyes firm. "I will contact her. Maybe it will be useful in the future."

Al smiled and nodded, "I feel more at ease with your determination. But you have to be careful, because behind any success there are many crises."

"I will remain vigilant," Gerling answered confidently, and then he began to plan his next move in the square. He silently formulated a new plan in his mind, preparing to conduct a deeper exploration.

"Gerlin, come here!" A sudden voice interrupted his thoughts. Everyone turned around and saw a man in gorgeous clothes walking quickly. The look on his face was extremely anxious. He ran and shouted loudly, "Come here, someone is coming!"

"Who is it?" Gerling realized that something was wrong and frowned slightly.

"It seems to be a team of high-level apprentices coming from the east. There is also a very famous guy in the team - Erkes." The man panted, his expression becoming more and more panicked. "He is the master who came to compete for resources. I heard that he won a small competition not long ago and is in the limelight."

Gerling's heart tightened instantly. Erkes was well-known and had always been regarded as a potential stock. He knew that his decision would mean risks, but also a rare opportunity.

"What is he doing here?" Gelling whispered to himself.

"For the badge and resources, I heard earlier that he was interested in the badge in your hand." The man was panicked, "He is a ruthless character, and he has made many people look bad in the past!"

"Don't panic." Gerling's mind raced, and an opportunity emerged before him. He immediately stopped, exuding a calm aura.

"What are you going to do?" Al also seemed anxious, and obviously had some plans for the unfavorable situation that was about to happen.

"I want to talk to him and hear what he really wants." Gerling made an unexpected decision with a firm look in his eyes.

"That's too risky!" Al immediately objected. "Elkes is not easy to deal with. He often plays psychological tactics."

"I understand this, but this is also the key to my future development." Gelling looked around and decided not to delay any longer. "It's a good opportunity to let him know that I'm not someone you can easily mess with."

"You have to be cautious." Al took a deep breath. The atmosphere around him became more and more oppressive. He became more and more worried about Gerlin. "Sometimes, calmness is the best solution."

"Calm down? But even so, I can't wait for him to snatch the opportunity away from me." Gerling raised his head and said seriously, "I am no longer the little character who was manipulated by others before. I have my own bottom line."

The atmosphere around him became quiet, and the afterglow of the setting sun made Gerling's figure long, as if foreshadowing the future path. He firmly believed that any way out had to be fought for by himself.

"In that case, I will go with you." Al finally made up his mind, his eyes showing support and understanding. "But you must be careful, the real opponent is not as simple as you think."
