The most powerful wizard in the magic world

Chapter 21 The Secret Entrance

Gerling stood in the living room of the villa. The space in front of him was spacious and bright, and the sun shone through the French windows onto the floor. However, his mood was as gloomy as the gloomy weather outside the villa. After a careful scan, he inserted the chip into the bracelet, and a three-dimensional image of the villa appeared on the screen. The structure of the doors, windows, and walls was clearly visible, but more importantly, it revealed the secrets hidden in this magnificent villa.

"The bedroom is on the second floor, the lab is underground, and the entrance is hidden behind the closet." He muttered, his eyes wandering across the screen before turning his gaze to Lily beside him.

Lily was leaning against the wall of the living room, frowning, as if she was thinking about something. Hearing what Gerlin said, she raised her head, her eyes flashing with curiosity: "What did you say? Laboratory? It's hidden so secretly?"

"Yes." Gerling nodded, with a hint of urgency in his tone, "We must find this entrance. Perhaps it contains the answers we need to find."

Lily tapped the wall with her fingertips, as if she was thinking about what to do. "So, let's go find the closet now?"

"Yes, hurry up." Gerlin's voice was firm and unquestionable, and he led Lily towards the stairs.

They climbed up the wooden stairs to the second floor. The corridors were lined with exquisite paintings, but at this moment, Gerling's eyes were fixed on the tightly closed bedroom door in front of him. Lily walked to the bedroom door and gently opened it.

The bedroom was elegant and cozy, with silk curtains swaying gently, and the neatly made bed and elegant furniture made the room full of life. Lily looked around and asked, "Do you think this person is looking for the same thing as us?"

"Maybe." Gerlin frowned and touched the wall, trying to find any possible clues. "But if that's the case, he must have left some traces."

Lily walked to the bed and lowered her head to observe carefully. "There is something under the bed. Come and take a look."

Gerling walked over quickly, leaned over, and found what seemed to be a small box under the bed. He pulled out the box with force, opened it, and saw that it was full of various documents and sundries. "What are these...?"

"It looks like some research materials." Lily saw the value of it at a glance, and quickly pulled out a few documents from the box and began to look through them, "See if there is any mention of the laboratory."

Gerling also began to carefully examine the contents of the box. Suddenly, his fingers touched a metal object, and then he pulled out a small metal piece with some symbols that seemed to be a code engraved on it.

"Lily, look at this." He handed the metal piece to Lily, a glimmer of hope rising in his heart.

Lily's eyes lit up immediately: "This may be the key to open the laboratory. We must find that closet and confirm it!"

The two hurriedly left the bedroom, returned to the first floor, and walked towards the closet. When they reached the closet, Gerling took a deep breath, his heart filled with anticipation. He stroked the door frame of the closet, trying to find any mechanism.

"Do you think... there will be any special mechanism?" Lily's voice was filled with a hint of nervousness and anticipation.

"There should be one." Gerling thought intently, his eyes scanning every detail of the closet. Finally, he found a slightly raised button at the bottom of the closet, and his heart was filled with excitement.

"Here!" He pressed the button, and after hearing a light "click", the closet slowly opened, revealing a dark passage. The two looked at each other, and Gerling walked in with Lily's encouragement.

The passage was dark, and the air was filled with a damp and heavy smell. Gerlin turned on the light on his bracelet to illuminate the road ahead. "Be careful and don't make any noise." He whispered.

Lily followed him closely, looking around in the darkness, her heart mixed with fear and anticipation of the unknown. The passage seemed to stretch very long, until it turned a corner, and suddenly, a slight sound came from the front.

"Listen!" Lily lowered her voice and her face suddenly became serious.

"We have to hurry." Gerlin hinted to Lily and walked towards the direction of the sound. They turned the corner and saw a heavy iron door with a faint light coming through the cracks.

"It's right here!" Lily said excitedly, her heart beating faster.

Gerling nodded slightly, walked forward, and tried to push open the heavy iron door. The door opened slowly, and the light inside gradually brightened. Suddenly, a laboratory full of instruments and reagents appeared, and the walls were covered with various drawings and formulas.

"It's amazing!" Lily couldn't contain her excitement and walked into the laboratory, her eyes wandering around. "These... are all high-tech equipment!"

Gerling was also shocked by the scene in front of him, and kept recalling the files he had found before. He looked around and finally found a large display screen in a corner, which displayed a series of complex experimental data.

"These experimental data... seem to be some biological research." He walked forward and tried to interpret the contents on the screen.

Lily came to his side and looked at the numbers on the screen carefully. "The progress of these cell experiments is close to perfect! Who did this?"

“I don’t know.” Gerling’s voice became heavy. “But this research is obviously not a good thing. We must find the truth behind it.”

He walked forward, picked up the parchment, and slid his fingertips lightly across the surface, feeling the smoothness and fineness of the parchment. "These parchments may seem useless, but I feel there must be a secret in them."

Lily came closer and frowned: "Do you think there was anything written on them?"

"I think so." Gellin turned the parchment over and looked at it carefully. "But I can't see any writing now. Let me scan it with the chip and see if I can detect anything."

He pointed the chip of the bracelet at a piece of parchment and started scanning. After a moment, a faint light flickered, and some blurry scratches appeared on the screen, and then a few lines of words focused:

"...Secret experiment, preliminary stage completed, data feedback is good, but still needs to be adjusted... The experimental subject showed abnormalities, and re-evaluation is necessary..."

"Is this... the experimental record?" Lily's eyes widened gradually, and she couldn't wait to take a closer look.

"Yes." Gellin's finger slid across the screen and continued reading. "It seems to be an experiment on some kind of organism, especially the part where the subject showed abnormalities. This shows that things are not simple."

"Abnormal? This means they are conducting dangerous experiments!" Lily's voice was a little nervous, "Gerlin, we have to face the truth!"

"I understand." Gerling put down the bracelet, his eyes became firm, "We need to find more evidence to uncover the secret behind this."

They carefully checked the bedroom again, and Gellin's mind was working fast, considering other clues besides the parchment. Lily was looking around on the other side of the room, and suddenly she stopped and found something unusual about the wall behind a decorative mirror.

"Gerlin, come and take a look here!" Lily shouted, with curiosity and anticipation in her eyes.

Gerlin walked over quickly and saw Lily tapping the wall with her hands. "What did you find?"

"This wall seems to be hollow. There is something inside." Lily tapped it lightly with her fingers, making a crisp echo.

"Let me see." Gelling tried to find the hidden mechanism on the wall. His hand slid along the wall until he found a subtle depression. He pressed hard and heard a "click". The wall slowly opened, revealing a secret compartment.

"It's amazing!" Lily said excitedly, looking inside impatiently. "What's inside?"

Gerling slowly reached into the secret compartment and took out a small wooden box. The box was carved with delicate patterns, and it looked ancient and mysterious. "This box looks very old, and there may be something more important hidden inside."

Carefully opening the box, Gerlin and Lily looked inside. It was full of dust, but underneath the dust, several thick notebooks were revealed. They looked at each other, their expectations growing stronger.

"This is... a notebook!" Lily carefully took out a notebook, "There should be records in it!"

"Hurry, see what's written inside." Gerling's voice was a little anxious.

Lily opened the notebook. On the first page, there was clear handwriting, recording the initial situation and steps of the experiment. As Lily continued to read, her expression became more and more solemn.

"These experiments seem to be related to bioengineering, involving gene recombination, cell culture... and some experiments on the fusion of humans and organisms! This is really terrifying!"

"Humans merged with biological organisms?" Gellin felt uneasy. "This means they might be conducting some unethical experiments."

Lily bit her lip and continued flipping through the notes. "Also, there are many cases of failed experiments recorded at the back. The last page even mentioned the death of the experimental subject, which was most likely caused by unstable genes."

"This is something that absolutely cannot be allowed to go on." Gerling thought to himself that they must make all of this public so that more people can know these secrets that cannot be told.

Lily suddenly stopped and pointed at the last page. Her face turned pale. "It says here that the final experimental results must be destroyed, all evidence must be dealt with, and some people may even be implicated..."

"Then we need to move faster." Gelling's voice became stronger. "We can't let these people continue their experiments. We must find more evidence before they do."

"You're right." Lily answered firmly, with a spark of courage in her eyes. "And we can't stay here for long. The owner of the villa may come back at any time."

Gerlin nodded, carefully put the notebook back into the box, quickly sorted out the parchment, and quickly left the bedroom with Lily, running towards the laboratory along the passage they had just taken.

"What do you think we should do next?" Lily asked in the corridor, her thoughts seeming a little complicated.

"We need to find out more information about this villa, understand the details of this experimental project, and perhaps even find out about the participants in the experiment." Gerling thought about the plan as he walked.

Lily gave him an encouraging look: "I believe that as long as we unite, we can solve this mystery!"

"We must be careful. Anyone in the villa could be a potential enemy." Gerling's voice was a little heavy. He tightly grasped the bracelet beside him and was secretly alert in his heart.

As they continued to go deeper into the laboratory area, Gerling was filled with uncertainty. As they explored, the truth gradually surfaced. How many unspeakable secrets were hidden behind the experiment? And how would they react to it?

Not far away, the door of the laboratory was open, and a few faint lights shone through, as if waiting for their arrival. Gerling and Lily looked at each other, and they understood tacitly that every step they took next must be cautious and firm. They went deeper again and exposed all the unknown truths to the world.
