The most powerful wizard in the magic world

Chapter 208 Light and Shadow Grass

He felt his body sway slightly, and was startled. The world around him seemed to be immersed in a dead silence, with only the sound of his beating heart continuing to echo in his ears.

"Torield..." Almost talking to himself, Gerlin's eyes passed through the remaining smoke and saw the collapsed area. Tears welled up in his eyes. He knew that Torild had paid the final price.

"We should get out of here." A deep voice broke the silence.

Jasmine covered her injured arm, her face pale. She was trembling slightly, but her eyes were firm, revealing a hint of tenacious strength. "He has made his choice, we can't go there." After saying that, she turned and walked forward. Although her steps were slightly unsteady, she was as tenacious as ever.

"But we can't just do this..." Gerlin's voice was mixed with pain and helplessness. Before he could finish his words, he was interrupted by Jasmine again.

"Torield chose to redeem himself, but we still have more work to do." She had her back to him, but her voice was clear and powerful, "We need to move forward."

"But..." Gerlin felt as if his heart was being torn apart by a knife, and those unspeakable emotions in his heart were tangled. But Jasmine's words were like a sobering agent, making him re-examine the predicament before him.

"We can't stay in the past." Jasmine's words were like a key that opened the cage in Gerling's heart. He understood that what she said was his pain and also a choice.

"Then where should we go?" Gerlin asked softly. Through her back, he felt her tenacity and determination.

"Go find the real answer." Jasmine turned around, her eyes as firm as steel. "Torield may have left, but our mission continues."

The sky outside gradually cleared up, and the sun shone warmly through the thick clouds. The two walked out of the smoke-filled ruins side by side, heading towards an unknown future. Jasmine waved her hands slightly in the air, as if to dispel the haze in her heart.

"As for the Tilf Spiral Hood Potion..." Gerlin hesitated for a moment, trying to shift his attention to more pressing matters. "Do you think it can help us in the upcoming battle?"

Jasmine thought for a moment, looked toward the distant horizon, and raised a bitter smile. "The effect of the Tilf Spiral Hood Potion is limited, but if we can find more materials, perhaps we can further enhance its effectiveness."

"I can go find the materials." Gerlin nodded silently, secretly brewing a plan in his mind, "Poor Torid... I always feel that this is a meaningless sacrifice."

"Meaning is created by ourselves." Jasmine said firmly, "Torield gave us an opportunity, and we cannot let him down."

After a long walk, the two gradually walked out of the ruins, and what came into view was a blue sky, and it seemed that everything had returned to peace. However, the pain in their hearts continued to surge.

"If I have another chance, I hope to talk to Thorild again." Gerlin whispered, afraid to break the silence. Although Thorild was no longer there, this little thought of him was still firmly grasped.

"Me too." Jasmine nodded, her eyes full of reminiscence. "He always saw things clearly, and never flinched even when facing death."

"That's right." Gerlin took a deep breath, and his memories of Thorild became even more profound.

"We will fight for him." Jasmine's voice was low and firm, like a vow, echoing in the hearts of the two. Then, she turned around, her eyes were sharp. "We must find supplies as soon as possible and prepare for the next move."

"I'll try to pay attention to my surroundings," Gellin responded, regaining some of his composure. They began to explore this strange land, trying to find clues to supplies.

As they walked, they came to a quiet forest. The sun shone through the leaves, casting mottled shadows. Gerling was attracted by the scene in front of him. He looked up and felt excited, as if he remembered a moment in the past.

"Jasmine, did you mention looking for special plants that could enhance potions?" he asked, anticipation in his voice.

"Well, we may be able to find some plants called 'light and shadow grass' here. They grow more vigorously in the sun." Jasmine was also attracted by the beautiful scenery in a trance, and a look of relief appeared on her face. "If we are lucky, we should be able to find quite a few."

Gerlin nodded vigorously, and hope gradually ignited in his heart. The two began to walk through the forest and search everywhere. After a period of searching, they finally found a cluster of light and shadow grass emitting a faint light in a sunny area.

"That's it!" Jasmine cheered with a smile on her face, "Quick, collect some and bring them back."

"Okay, I'll be right there." Gerling quickly stepped forward and carefully dug up the grass roots, making sure they wouldn't be harmed when transplanted. He tried to immerse himself in the busyness, trying to temporarily block out the pain in his heart.

"How about we find a safe place to rest?" Jasmine looked at Gerlin, her tone full of concern, "You must be tired after all this journey."

"I'm fine, actually." Gerling forced a smile. "I just hope to find all the materials I need as soon as possible. I don't want to waste any time."

Jasmine frowned, as if thinking of something. "Gerlin, it's not wrong to slow down. Only by getting enough rest can we better face the challenges in the future."

"You're right." Gerling realized that Jasmine's insistence was for his own good. He sighed slightly, "Let's find an open space nearby to rest for a while."

The two of them immediately found a relatively flat place and sat down. The sun shone through the treetops, casting a warm glow, and the air was filled with the fresh smell of earth.

"Torield..." Gerlin finally mentioned him again in such a quiet moment, and the light in his eyes gradually dimmed. "I always feel that his life is like this forest, peaceful but full of danger."

Jasmine listened quietly, with mixed feelings in her heart. "I understand how you feel, but we can't let ourselves be overwhelmed by sadness. Thorild may be gone, but his spirit will always be with us. For him, we must keep moving forward."
