Around Gerlin, the death cloud slowly spread out, bringing with it a suffocating corrosive aura. The mages present all turned pale and retreated in fear.

"Quick! Get out of the way!" Alyssa's voice rang out in the chaos, and her fingertips quickly formed a protective rune. The rune flickered with a faint light, as if fighting against the cloud of death.

"It's useless!" An elderly wizard said in a hoarse voice, "This gas can corrode all magic and it's impossible to resist it!" He stepped forward and tried to use a fire spell to disperse the clouds, but the flames were instantly swallowed up by the horrible gas and turned into invisible nothingness.

Gerlin smiled, his low voice floating in the air like a ghost: "Don't you like this surprise? This game should have ended this way." His eyes swept over everyone, the pride on his face was beyond words.

"You shouldn't have done this!" Alyssa glared at Gerlin angrily, her eyes full of unyielding determination. "We used to be companions, why did you betray us?"

"Companions? Haha!" Gerlin laughed, his voice full of sarcasm. "In the face of power, all companions are a joke. Only real power can let me get what I want." A spell shining with blue light appeared in his hand, aimed at Alyssa.

“You despicable traitor!” Alyssa gritted her teeth. She concentrated all her strength and tried to build a protective barrier, but the blue light struck her like lightning and sent her flying several meters away.

"Do you really think I will let you go?" Gerlin's voice was cold and ruthless. "This game is meant to select the strongest. Now, you will all pay the price for your weakness!"

Most of the mages were already suffocating under the pressure of the death cloud, and they all fell to the ground, desperately looking for ways to escape. However, Gerlin was showing off his strength, as if this chaos was his stage.

"I won't let you succeed!" This was Kyle's voice. He stood towards Gerlin, holding an ancient scepter in his hand. Mana power flowed out of his body continuously, forming a strong beam of light.

"Oh? You still want to fight me?" Gerlin raised his eyebrows, his expression as contemptuous as ever, "You are just courting death!"

The spells clashed, Kyle's beam collided with Gerlin's spell, and a strong energy wave erupted instantly. The air waves that shook the two of them almost made the surrounding buildings tremble slightly, but Gerlin's power was far greater than Kyle's, and the beam was quickly torn into pieces and swallowed up in an instant.

“Quick! Unite!” Alyssa struggled to stand up and shouted anxiously, “We can’t let him go on!”

Other mages also responded. Although they were affected by the cloud of death, they still tried their best to cast their spells, trying to stand firm under the ravages of Gerlin.

"That's impossible!" Gellin sneered, his eyes revealing a teasing look, "A bunch of losers, and I am undoubtedly the only winner on this stage!"

"You are just using us!" Alyssa shouted angrily. Although she was out of breath, she was still unwilling to back down. Her courage infected the other mages, and they gathered their strength and prepared for the final counterattack.

"If you want to defeat me, you must first learn to unite!" Gerlin said coldly, and instantly triggered another bolt of lightning, threatening the opposing mages. The air was filled with tension, and it seemed as if even time had stopped.

"Don't let him distract us!" Kyle shouted, "We need to cast our strongest spell together!"

The mages quickly focused their attention, adjusted their postures, and began to cooperate with each other. Alyssa was among them, her brows furrowed, and her mind was racing with thoughts, "If we can catch that lightning, maybe there is still a chance..."

"Are you ready?" Kyle asked in a low voice, revealing a look of determination.

“Of course.” Alyssa nodded firmly.

"Come on!" Kyle shouted loudly, raised his staff, and a ray of light pierced the air.

"Break it!" At the same time, all the mages cast spells together, and their power turned into a beam of light that surged towards Gerlin like a tide. Instantly, the entire venue was enveloped in brilliant light.

Gerlin's expression changed instantly. He realized that he was careless and gave these mages an opportunity to join forces. "You... can actually gather power in this cloud?" He was a little frightened, but still refused to give in.

“This is the power of our unity!” Alyssa responded loudly, her eyes determined, unwilling to back down. “In despair, we will turn into light and end this game!”

“We won…” Alyssa was tired, but there was a victorious smile on her face.

“Yes, we did it.” Kyle patted Alyssa’s shoulder with a relieved expression.
