The most powerful wizard in the magic world

Chapter 19 The Mysterious Villa

After half a month of hard study, Gerlin finally mastered several zero-level spells, and a stronger determination ignited in his heart. The mysterious laboratory seemed to have planted a seed of exploration in his heart.

He knew that if he wanted to uncover the secrets there, he had to take the first step. Then, he quietly walked towards the laboratory, where he had longed for his goal.

"I must succeed tonight." Gerling said to himself, his steps becoming more determined. As he approached the laboratory, the air around him seemed to become heavier, and there was a faint sense of panic.

"Gerlin, you're here." A familiar voice sounded behind him. Gerlin turned around and saw Naanman standing under an old tree with a smile on her face. She looked a little worried. "I thought you would give up?"

"Give up? Absolutely not." Gerlin said confidently, his nervousness slightly reduced. "During this period of time, in addition to learning spells, I also carefully studied the structure and defense mechanism of the laboratory. Today, I must go in."

"Are you ready? I feel like everything here is full of unknowns." Naanman's tone was full of concern, "We can make another plan. I don't want you to take risks."

"Naanman, I really need this opportunity." Gerlin's eyes flashed with determination. "I believe in my ability. If I can get in smoothly, maybe there will be a major discovery."

"Okay, I trust your judgment." Naanman sighed. Although she was still a little uneasy, she knew that Gerlin was determined to try. "Then let's get started."

The two walked to the door of the laboratory. Gerling took a deep breath and began to carefully observe the seemingly ordinary door. He clearly remembered that the defense mechanism at the door was composed of a complex array. As long as he found a way to crack it, he could enter safely.

"Are you ready to cast the spell?" Naanman's voice sounded in his ears.

"Of course, let me do it." Gerlin closed his eyes slightly and adjusted his mind. He raised his hands and silently chanted the spell in his mind, trying to guide the magic power in his body to the palms of his hands. He felt a warm force condensing in his palms, and then slowly released it, covering the magic circle at the door.

"Come on, follow my rhythm." Gerlin whispered to himself, his forehead slightly wrinkled, and he silently recited the spell to break it in his mind.

At first, the magic circle didn't seem to respond, but Gerlin didn't give up. His heartbeat gradually accelerated, and a layer of fine sweat oozed out of his forehead. He knew that failure was not an option, and he had to persevere to the end.

"Come on! I'm with you." Seeing this, Naanman immediately gave encouragement, with anticipation flashing in her eyes.

He was startled, and instantly seized the opportunity to quickly adjust the direction of his magic power. He waved his hands lightly and whispered the last spell.

"Break the formation!"

With a slight sound and a dazzling light, the defensive magic circle collapsed instantly. Gerlin was delighted and quickly pushed open the door. He and Naanman walked in together, and the scene before them stunned them.

The laboratory is very spacious, filled with various instruments and books, and the air is filled with a mysterious atmosphere. The walls are covered with complex drawings and runes, which seem to tell stories from the past.

"Wow, this is amazing!" Naanman exclaimed, her eyes sparkling. "Look at these instruments, what are they?"

"It looks like a device for studying magic." Gerlin walked forward and carefully observed an ancient-looking instrument with intricate runes engraved on it. "Every item here contains knowledge."

"We have to be careful," Naanman warned, with a hint of caution in her voice, "If there is any hidden danger, we must be ready to deal with it at any time."

"I understand." Gerling nodded and began to search the laboratory carefully. He found a thick book on a long table. When he opened it, he found a detailed record of ancient magic. His eyes were filled with excitement, and he silently made up his mind to take all this knowledge away.

"Anything special you've discovered here?" Naanman came over curiously and looked at his books.

"This book records many powerful spells and experimental strategies." Gerlin replied, his tone full of excitement, "I think the knowledge here will definitely help me improve my strength."

"Are you sure there's no danger here?" Naanman was still a little worried. "I think we'd better leave quickly and take these books with us to find a way to study them."

"Wait a minute, I want to take another look." Gerling insisted. He was almost irresistible to these ancient books, and his eyes lingered on the pages. He carefully recorded the information he thought was important, fearing that he would miss any details.

"Gerlin, hurry! We have to go!" Naanman shouted, pulling his hand, "Something seems to be happening here!"

"Wait, Naanman, I'm almost done!" Gerlin raised his head hastily, and was shocked to see the changes around him. "I must record this!"

"Now is not the time!" Naanman pulled his arm, his tone was urgent, "We must leave this place!"

Hearing this, Gerlin finally realized the seriousness of the matter. He quickly put the notebook into his arms, stood up, and prepared to follow Naanman's footsteps.

"The exit is in front!" Naanman pointed to the door on the side of the laboratory and rushed towards it, followed closely by Gerling.

"Hurry! Don't stop!" Naanman shouted desperately, and Gerlin also ran as fast as he could. They rushed out of the door at full speed, and a loud tearing sound came from behind them.

Finally, they successfully rushed out of the laboratory, breathing the fresh air outside, and felt ecstatic. Looking back, the entrance of the laboratory had been blocked by boulders and filled with thick smoke, and it seemed to have become a ruin.

"We... succeeded." Gellin panted, still recalling the horrific moment just now.

"It was too thrilling!" Naanman calmed down a little, smiled and shook her head at him. "Don't take risks like this next time!"

"I know, but the knowledge here is too fascinating." Gerling's face was full of excitement, but he couldn't hide a little fear in his heart. "I will be more careful."

"Don't worry, we have already obtained a lot of important information." Naanman patted his shoulder, her eyes full of encouragement. "Besides, we still have many opportunities to explore."

"Great, Naanman! Look at these formulas!" Gelling pointed to the notes on the margins, his eyes flashing with a desire for knowledge.

"Don't worry, Gerlin, we are not out of danger yet." Naanman's voice was a little nervous. "We must find a way out first."

"I know, but this notebook is too important. What's inside may be the true meaning of alchemy that I have been looking for." Gerling did not give up. He quietly flipped through the notebook, trying to remember every word in it.

At this moment, the scene in front of him suddenly changed. The gate of the villa was tightly wrapped by vines, as if countless devil's fingers were clenching the barrier to the outside world. At the bottom of these vines were eerie bone-eating flowers, with a strange green tint in the black petals and a suffocating smell.

"What...is this thing?" Naanman trembled slightly, staring at the twisting devil vines, obviously uneasy about their threat.

"It looks like some kind of magical plant, specially used to protect this place." Gerlin frowned, "But we must pass through them to get back to a safe place."

"Can we use magic to get rid of them?" Naanman took a step back and kept a distance from the vines. "I always feel that they are not easy to deal with."

"I'm not sure either." Gerling's eyes flickered as he pondered a countermeasure. "However, with our current capabilities, a direct confrontation could be dangerous. We need to find a safe way."

"Then what should we do with these vines?" Naanman asked anxiously, with a little uneasiness in her eyes.

"I think..." Gerlin began to think, "We can try to use a spell to temporarily depower these vines. I remember learning a spell in the library that can reduce the vitality of plants, but it requires concentration and mana."

"Can you do it? It sounds a bit risky." Naanman was a little worried, but she knew that Gerlin would not give up easily.

"I'll try my best." Gerlin took a deep breath and silently chanted a spell in his mind, trying to gather the magic power in his hands. His palms trembled slightly, and the vines in front of him seemed to feel threatened and began to twist continuously.

"Hurry up! Let's start!" Naanman encouraged loudly from the side, feeling nervous but expectant.

Gerlin slowly raised his hand and silently chanted a spell, trying to inject his magic power into the vines on the other side. He felt a warm force flowing through his body, and as he chanted the spell, the force gradually increased.

"Go!" With a low shout, green light was released from his hands, pouring down like a galaxy, directly hitting the twisting vines. Instantly, a faint glow filled the surrounding air.

The vines did not seem to be outdone and immediately responded to Gerlin's attack. They made a harsh sound in the air, as if they were tearing something apart, and instantly several more vines came towards him. At this moment, the petals of the bone-eating flower slowly opened, revealing the disturbing thorns inside.

"Gerlin, be careful!" Naanman exclaimed, and immediately rushed to his side, ready to protect him.

"It's okay, I can bear it!" Gerlin gritted his teeth and tried to concentrate his magic power. The light in his hand became brighter and brighter, as if he was having a contest of strength with the vines.

"We can't go on like this!" Naanman said anxiously, "We must find another way. Time waits for no one!"

"I know!" Gerlin was startled, realizing that the spell didn't work immediately. "We can try other methods, such as using the environment."

"Environment? You mean...?" Naanman was a little confused and frowned.

"The weakness of those vines and bone-eating flowers lies in light. Sunlight is their enemy." Gerling pointed to the roof of the villa. "If we can introduce light, perhaps we can weaken their power."

"Good idea! Let's try it!" Naanman immediately understood what he meant.

Gellin looked around and locked his eyes on a window nearby. He quickly ran over and tried to push the window open, but it didn't move at all, as if it was blocked by some force.

"Is there no other way?" Naanman asked anxiously.

"There is a way!" Gerlin raised his head with a determined look, "I can try to break this seal. You wait outside and tell me if there is any movement."

"No! I won't let you take risks alone." Naanman said firmly, with an unquestionable determination in her eyes. "No matter what happens, we have to face it together."

"Okay, let's do it together." Gerlin smiled slightly, and felt that Naanman's support made him braver. He concentrated again and prepared to release more magic power.

"Are you ready?" Naanman asked nervously.

"Ready." Gerlin took a deep breath, then placed his palms on the window and began to chant the spell to lift the seal.

He could feel a strong energy fighting against him, but his inner determination made him not retreat. His voice became louder and louder, and the tone of the spell became clearer, as if to dispel this power.

"Go! Break this seal!" he roared, and as the last syllable came out, a dazzling light emerged from his palm and the beam of light instantly hit the window.

"Crack!" With a crisp cracking sound, the window finally opened, and strong sunlight poured in instantly, illuminating the entire room. The devil vines seemed to twitch and shrink restlessly under the light, and the petals of the bone-eating flower no longer spread out, but became shrunken.

"Hurry! Take advantage of this opportunity!" Naanman shouted excitedly, rushing towards the vines, "We must pass through this door before they recover!"

"Okay!" Gerling followed closely and rushed to the gate. Hope ignited in their hearts, and under the sunshine, the obstacles in front of them seemed to be slowly disappearing.

"Hurry up!" Gerlin also rushed out, and instantly felt a gust of fresh air. They finally got rid of those terrifying vines and bone-eating flowers and returned to the free world.

"All this is thanks to your support," Gelling said with a smile, and the tension in his heart gradually dissipated. He looked at the notebook in his hand, and his heart was full of expectations for future exploration.

"What should we do next?" Naanman asked, with anticipation and excitement in her eyes.

"We must study this notebook carefully to see if its contents can help us." Gerlin thought for a moment, with a spark of wisdom flashing in his eyes. "Also, we need to look up some knowledge related to these plants to prevent us from encountering similar situations next time."

"Good idea, we can go to the library and look up information." Naanman suggested, with some excitement in her eyes, "I believe we will find more clues."

"Then, let's go!" Gellin put aside his worries and walked forward firmly. He knew that the road of exploration was still long, but as long as they fought side by side, there was nothing that could not be overcome.

In the reflection of the setting sun, Gerlin and Naanman walked out of the villa together, their figures overlapping in the long shadows, and the future was full of infinite possibilities.
