The most powerful wizard in the magic world

Chapter 182 The Fear in My Heart

"Gerling, where are you?" Jack called out to him. Apparently, he had not expected that Gerling was nearby.

Gerling walked out from the shadows with a complicated expression: "I'm here, Jack. I stopped immediately when I heard you shouting Gados."

Jack frowned: "Where are you going? This place is not safe, you know"

"I know, but I have to find Gardos. He might be able to show me the way out of this mess."

"Do you believe him?" Jack asked, a trace of uneasiness flashing in his eyes. "He has been targeted by the enemy now. We can't let ourselves get into more trouble."

“But I’m going to find him,” Garlin insisted. “We all know that Gados has a way. He always finds a way out of a difficult situation.”

Jack sighed slightly, obviously unwilling to see his former companions take risks in such a situation. "If you insist on going, I will accompany you. But be careful, there are more than one or two enemies."

"Thank you, Jack." Garlin was grateful, even though he didn't want Jack to follow him under such circumstances. Brotherhood seemed to be more solid at this moment.

The two hurried forward, the sound of fighting echoing in their ears, and the faint firelight in the distance reflected the tension and determination on their faces. After walking for a while, they finally came to a relatively quiet corner, where the wet soil and noodle-like weeds seemed to still make a faint sound.

"How do we find Gados?" Jack looked around, trying to find some clues.

"I heard that he has been walking through the abandoned wheat fields recently. I think we can go there and take a look." Gerlin looked up and cast his gaze towards the fields in the distance, a glimmer of hope flashing in his heart.

"But it's not far from the enemy-occupied area. Are you sure you want to go?" Jack hesitated. "I don't want us to be surrounded here."

"There's nothing we can do. We can only try." A smile appeared on Gerlin's face. "This is our only chance."

The two carefully walked through the dark jungle and finally arrived at the vast wheat field. The golden ears of wheat swayed in the breeze, as if seeing them off. However, being in the barren land, with only traces of war left on it, the anxiety in their hearts surged up again.

"Hey, Gerling, do you hear that?" Jack's voice suddenly became low, "There seems to be someone over there."

The tense atmosphere froze instantly, and Gerling held his breath, his face full of alertness. They slowly approached the source of the sound, their heartbeats seemed to roar in their ears.

"This way," Jack whispered, pointing to a hidden area of fog.

Gerling said nothing, his eyes were deep. He was ready to go, ready to face the unknown at any time. Just as they approached, the voice in front became clearer: "Gados! Where are you!"

"It's him!" Gerlin confirmed in a low voice and involuntarily quickened his pace.

Finally, they saw a figure disappearing in the wheat field. It was Gados. He was tall and slender, his black coat fluttering in the breeze. He turned around slowly, with a vigilant light flashing in his eyes.

"Who is it! Come here!" Gados shouted as he walked towards them very carefully.

"We are Garlin and Jack!" Garlin responded loudly, unable to hide his excitement, "We are here to find you!"

When Gados heard the names, he instantly breathed a sigh of relief: "It's really you! I thought this place would trap me forever."

"Did you hear what's going on outside?" Jack asked hurriedly, his eyes full of worry, as if he was face to face with these dangers.

"Yes." Gados shook his head helplessly, "The situation is still chaotic, and the enemy is pressing forward step by step. It got worse right after we left."

“We need to find a safe place,” Gelling said, his eyes determined. “For ourselves and for others.”

"I have a place where we can hide temporarily," Gados thought for a moment, "but we must remain absolutely quiet. Any sound may cause unnecessary trouble."

"Where are you talking about?" Jack asked curiously.

"It's an abandoned factory not far from here," Gados replied, his eyes still alert, "There are some defenses there, we need to leave as soon as possible."

After a brief discussion, they decided to follow the guidance of Gados. The three of them once again embarked on an adventurous journey, but they all knew that the challenges they faced were far beyond their imagination.

Gradually, as they got closer to their goal, the atmosphere around them became more and more tense. Although they took every step carefully, they still felt deeply uneasy.

Walking out of the wheat field, they were greeted by a blur of ruins, scattered stones and rusty iron pieces that seemed to tell stories of the past. Gerling's eyes roamed around, his alertness not diminished at all.

"Go, hurry up!" Gados' voice suddenly rose, breaking the silence around him.

Jack and Gerling quickly followed, but just as they were about to approach the factory, the air around them froze in an instant. Several enemy soldiers suddenly appeared in their sight, holding weapons in their hands and looking serious.

"They are coming!" Jack's voice dropped instantly and his face turned pale.

"Keep your heads down!" Gados quickly commanded, and several people immediately wilted and hid in the shadow of the factory.

Suddenly, a clear gunshot broke the silence, followed by an explosion, and the scene suddenly became chaotic. Gerling's heart seemed to be grasped by an invisible hand. He desperately turned back to check, but there was gunfire everywhere and stray bullets flying everywhere.

"Hurry, hide over there!" Gerlin shouted, his voice drowned out by the wind, and a strong sense of fear surged over him like a tide.

He pulled Jack with all his strength and rushed to the bunker on one side, trying to find a safe place, while Gados remained calm and tried to find a better evacuation route.

"We can't stay here!" Jack's voice was filled with anxiety. He held his breath and shouted to Gerling, "If we don't move, we'll be discovered!"

"I know!" Gerlin was anxious and looked around anxiously, trying to find an exit.

"Then run directly to the left. If we are surrounded, we will soon have no way to retreat." Gados kept a sharp eye on the enemy's movements, ready to act at any time.

At this moment, the sound of enemy fire suddenly intensified, and Gelling felt his scalp tingling. If they didn't leave, fatal consequences might be waiting for them.

"Go!" Gados gave an order, and the three ran to the left without hesitation, but their steps seemed extremely heavy due to nervousness.

They had almost forgotten their fear, not because they were used to such life-and-death situations, but because the desire to survive was ignited in their hearts. They tried to avoid enemy fire while rushing around, desperately trying to escape the vortex of this battle.

"Can we find a safe place?" Jack's voice was low and desperate, unable to conceal the fear in his heart.

"Absolutely! I believe it!" Gerling clenched his fists and gave Jack strength, while Gados on the side decisively led the direction.
