The most powerful wizard in the magic world
Chapter 160: 1 Expectation
"Gerlin, you're finally awake!" A familiar voice came from beside her. Emily approached excitedly with a concerned look on her face.
"Emily... where are we?" He tried to clear his mind, but he felt as if his head was hit hard by a hammer, and pain followed.
"This is a safe area in the secret realm," Emily explained, her eyes flashing with anticipation and anxiety, "You had a reaction during the space transfer, so I had to drag you here."
"I... feel so dizzy." After a while, Gerlin felt a little better and tried to stand up, but his body seemed to be restrained by some invisible force and he could not move.
"Don't worry, sit down and rest first." Emily gently held his shoulders, fearing that he would fall again.
"You...are not hurt, right?" Gerlin tried to make his voice sound steady, although the anxiety in his heart was still spreading.
"I'm fine, just a little tired." Her eyes were firm, as if she wanted to convey a kind of comforting power.
"What should we do?" As he spoke, some cold sweat broke out on his forehead and the tension in his body made him uneasy.
"We need to find an exit." Emily turned her gaze around. The scene around her changed like a dream. The trees were lush and tall, and the air was filled with a mysterious atmosphere, as if magic was omnipresent around them.
"Find an exit? How do we find it?" Gellin's voice was a little low. "If I have that kind of reaction again... I don't want to go through it again."
"We will. I will stay with you." Emily's voice was as clear as a bell, revealing a hint of warmth. She suddenly remembered something and quickly took out a small water bottle from her backpack. "Drink some water first, maybe it can help you relieve the discomfort."
Gerling took the water bottle and took a sip. The cold water slid down his throat and his mood gradually calmed down. After regaining some strength, he observed the surrounding environment, trying to find some clues.
"Is there no one else around us?" he asked.
"Not yet, but I can sense the breath of life in the air here." Emily pointed to the seemingly endless forest in the distance. "We need to go in that direction. I heard there is an ancient portal there that may be able to take us out."
"Ancient portal?" Gellin frowned. "Are you sure it's safe?"
"I have no other choice. Dex and the others are still waiting for news from us." Emily's tone was firm, but there was a hint of hesitation in her eyes. "We must find them as soon as possible."
"Okay." Gerling finally couldn't bear the fear in his heart and stood up. Although his legs were a little weak, he knew he had to cheer up.
"Can you walk?" Emily looked at him with concern.
"I'll find a way." He tried to make his voice firm, and then he felt a subtle sense of uneasiness creeping in. They began to walk deeper into the forest, and the atmosphere around them gradually became oppressive, with flickering lights and shadows, making him a little dazed.
Not long after they walked, a strange roar suddenly broke the silence, as if some creature was lurking. Gerling's heart instantly rose to his throat.
"Emily, did you hear that?" His voice became weak and his pupils suddenly dilated.
"Don't be afraid, it might just be a wild animal." Emily seemed unusually calm, "We must keep moving forward."
"But we don't know what we will encounter." Gerling looked around anxiously, trying to find a place to hide.
"It's precisely because we don't know that we need to be more cautious." Emily sighed slightly, but she didn't stop. The two moved forward cautiously, and the dense forest made them cautious with every step.
"Are we...getting lost?" Gerling asked worriedly.
"As long as you don't give up, you will definitely find your way back." Emily said firmly, trying to calm them down. "Look, there's a bright spot ahead!"
Following her guidance, Gerlin walked forward and finally saw the brilliant light between the trees. When they got closer, a stream came into view, the gurgling water reflected the dazzling light.
"Is this our way out?" He raised his voice unconsciously. The clear water gave him an illusion that it could wash away the fear in his heart.
"Maybe it's not just the water." Emily approached the stream and observed the light spots floating on the water. They looked like some strange creatures. "Look, they are made up of energy. Maybe they can give us guidance."
"So beautiful..." Gerlin forgot his fear for a moment and was simply attracted by the scene before him.
"But we have to be vigilant at all times. This is not human territory." Emily reminded him, and then began to look carefully at the stream.
"Then...what should we do?" Gellin frowned. "I'm a little worried about all this."
"We need to try to contact these light spots. Maybe they can tell us something." Emily's eyes became focused, she squatted down, stretched out her fingers, and gently moved the light spots on the water.
Suddenly, ripples appeared on the water surface, and with them came not only gentle ripples, but also a strange energy. The light spot changed rapidly, and gradually condensed into a soft image.
"Gerlin, come and see!" Emily called excitedly, pointing her finger at the water. A vague figure emerged in the image, as if waving at them, with a smooth figure against the light, giving them a familiar feeling.
"Who... who is that?" Gerlin's heart tightened, and he vaguely felt that this image was closely related to their fate.
"I'm not sure, but maybe it's some kind of guidance." Emily's eyes sparkled with surprise, "This may be a clue for us to find the exit! But we need to try deeper."
"How do we try it further?" Gerlin asked impatiently, with a hint of anticipation in his heart.
"Feel it with your heart!" Emily's voice became gentle and firm. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, as if she wanted to communicate with the light through her soul.
"Okay, I'll try." Gerling tried to concentrate, following Emily's rhythm, and slowly closed his eyes. He tried to empty his mind and try to feel the flowing light and shadow.
