His plan finally succeeded. Rommath's soul had been trapped in the Fallen Star, becoming the source of his power. The candles around him trembled slightly, as if they were also afraid of the coming madness.

"How pathetic, Rommath," Gellin muttered to himself, a mocking smile on his face. He walked to the center of the circle, shadows twisting behind him, as if welcoming his victory. "You could have had endless glory, but you chose to fight me."

The center of the magic circle still echoed with Rommath's whispers, the faint sound of his struggle after being trapped, "Gerlin, you don't know what you are doing. You will pay for this." His voice was filled with unignorable anger and deep despair.

"Price?" Gerlin sneered, "I never thought there would be a price! This is my destiny. I will become the most powerful wizard. It only makes me happy to be an enemy of a weakling like you."

In the shadows, Romans' figure gradually emerged. Although he seemed to be locked in some invisible restraints, his eyes revealed an unyielding will. "You can't be so complacent forever, Gerling. The darker the source of your power, the stronger the backlash will be."

“Backlash?” Gellin threw his head back and laughed, his voice echoing off the basement walls. “You speak as if I were a fool. I will dominate this power, and it will belong to me. Unlike you, I do not need the constraints of morality, let alone mercy.”

"You will eventually be alone, and darkness is your only companion." Romance said slowly, his voice still firm. He struggled hard, but the magic of the magic circle was like an iron chain, locking his soul. Even so, he did not give up.

"Lonely?" Gerlin frowned slightly. "So what if I'm lonely? Absolute power is enough to move everything. But you, Romance, can only be my toy forever. You can never escape."

A trace of sadness flashed in Romans' eyes. "You are so conceited, Gerling. But do you know that true power comes from trust and cooperation, not endless devouring and exploitation?"

"Cooperation?" Gellin sneered, exuding a cold aura. "You reminded me of those humble advices and tried to kidnap me with that stupid emotion! I'll let you know that the result will only be a meaningless struggle of a loser."

At this moment, a door in the basement was suddenly pushed open, and the witch apprentice Emilia walked in, her face full of anxiety, "Gerlin, things are not good! There is an unknown force invading outside, and our magic circle is being disturbed!"

"What?" Gerlin turned around angrily, his eyes piercing Emilia like a knife, "What are you talking about? I don't want to hear such jokes!"

“I’m not kidding!” Emilia explained hurriedly, with a hint of uneasiness in her tone, “Outside the magic circle, someone is trying to stop your spell, and even… has caused cracks in some of the magic circles!”

A glimmer of hope flashed in Romans' eyes. He finally had a chance to escape. "Emilia! Come on, help me! I can help you defeat Gerlin. As long as the magic circle is removed, you can be free again!"

“Shut up!” Gerlin shouted angrily, and then a strong black smoke emerged and rushed towards the struggling Romans. “You will never have another chance! I will bury your soul deep in the Fallen Star!”

Emilia hurriedly stood in front of Romance. Although she was afraid, she also felt a sense of responsibility. "Gerlin, this is out of control! Give up, we can start over together. We don't need this dark power!"

"Start over?" Gerlin said with disdain, "As long as I have a breath left, I will not give up this power! What's more, you don't understand my great plan."

"Plan? You're just seeking destruction!" Emilia responded angrily, "Do you want everyone to pay for your arrogance?"

"Everything is my chess piece, Emilia." Gerlin approached slowly, his eyes full of madness, "Darkness is the ultimate king, and aren't you just tools that can help me gain more power?"

"You are such a foolish, arrogant man," Rommath interrupted. Although his voice was weak, his determination was still fearless. "Gerlin, your darkness will eventually consume you, and your soul will dissipate with this power."

"Quiet!" Gerlin's roar resounded throughout the basement. The spreading black smoke instantly formed an invisible barrier, oppressing Emilia's nerves. "You are all trying to stop me, but this is just a waste of time."

As his voice fell, the air in the basement turned cold instantly, and the space around him seemed to freeze in an instant. Romance's soul was struggling, and he said hurriedly: "Emilia! Let me go, I can reconnect our power!"

“I can’t do this!” Tears glistened in Emilia’s eyes. “I can’t let myself fall into darkness. My trust in you has been tainted by him!”

"You must believe me!" Despair was evident in Romans' voice. "Only by working together can we break Gerlin's shackles. The enemy is approaching. Don't let hatred cloud your heart!"

"Shut up!" Gerlin couldn't help but yell, the staff in his hand drew a curved trajectory in the air, releasing an increasingly terrifying black light. Emilia suppressed her fear and was determined not to retreat. "I will never let you continue to kill my companions! Romance, I believe in you, you will definitely find an opportunity!"

"Very well, Emilia, use your faith and hold on according to your will!" Romance responded quietly, "You must break that closed fate and never let darkness dominate you."

Gerlin shouted, "Pathetic thought! Today, I will devour your souls and become a true wizard!"

Dark spells swirled in the air. Emilia held her breath and silently repeated Romance's belief in her heart, "We will never be defeated by you! I will stay with you even if I die. Together we will resist this crazy wizard!"
