Hogwarts's Master of Mind
Chapter 34 Invitation and 1st Association Event
The creation of the Dueling Society has been completed, and Professor Flitwick has submitted an application, declaring the association officially established.
Professor Flitwick urged Aiden to recruit people as soon as possible, but Aiden already had a suitable candidate.
"Mind Blade Duel Association?" Edmund was a little surprised.
"Dueling instructor?" asked Oliver.
"Is it an illegal association or a secret society?" Ethan also asked.
"No, it's an association that Professor Flitwick and I set up. We've registered it with Professor McGonagall. It's a formal association under the name of the school." Aiden said with a smile.
"Besides, it won't take up your 'time' and can also improve your dueling ability. Do you want to give it a try?"
"Come!" *3
"Okay, sign this invitation letter. The specific rules of the association are all on it. Signing this is equivalent to signing an unbreakable oath. You must never violate it."
"Unbreakable Vow?"
Oliver was a little curious. This knowledge was still a little too early for a first-year wizard.
"It's a powerful magical oath. The consequences of violating it are very serious." Edmund, who came from a family of scholars, explained to Oliver.
"Then just don't violate it. I've seen that this association doesn't have any major restrictions. It just requires confidentiality." Ethan said.
"Isn't that a secret society?" Oliver's interest was piqued again.
“I’m not asking you to keep the association confidential. Just don’t disclose the association’s internal affairs or information about other members,” Aiden concluded.
"So, join in?"
"Good." * 3
As the three roommates signed the invitation, a red, hot wire was wrapped around their hands.
"Okay, the contract is established." Aiden smiled, but in his heart he was thinking of a tool man* 3.
Since the association was just starting out, Aiden didn't invite too many people. He first asked three roommates to join in to test the waters. After all, roommates are there to be cheated.
' Thank you. ' Oliver, Ethan and Edmund all rolled their eyes.
Wednesday soon came. That night, the four of them finished their astronomy class and returned to the dormitory to rest.
"You three should get ready, the association activities are about to begin." Aiden reminded.
"Ah, we just finished astronomy class." Oliver screamed.
"Yeah, I'm almost exhausted." Ethan agreed.
"Besides, going out to participate in association activities now is like a night out." Edmund felt strange.
"No, you don't have to go out, you don't even have to leave the dormitory, just wash up and go to bed."
The three of them quickened their movements, got into bed, covered themselves with the quilt, and fell into a deep sleep.
In the hazy fantasy, Oliver, Ethan and Edmund were pulled into the duel room, where Professor Flitwick was already waiting for them.
"Professor Flitwick." The four of them greeted Flitwick together.
"Well, welcome. The focus of tonight is the application of basic spells in actual combat." Professor Flitwick said.
"Before we begin, I want to make it clear that what we teach is a duel without rules, or in other words, actual combat."
After that, Professor Flitwick waved his wand and conjured up four practice dolls. He explained, "First is the Levitation Charm, which can make objects float in the air."
After that, he demonstrated it and the puppet slowly floated up.
"However, simply floating won't provide effective help in actual combat."
As he spoke, Professor Flitwick shook his wand upwards, and the puppet's floating height began to increase. Then he suddenly canceled the spell, and the puppet fell heavily to the ground.
"Look, sometimes we can use gravity to incapacitate our opponent with only a small amount of effort."
"But professor, it is very difficult to cast a levitation spell on a wizard's body, not to mention that they also know the Shield Charm." Aiden pointed out the blind spot.
"Yes, that's a good question, Aiden, so let's try it?" Professor Flitwick smiled wickedly.
'It's over, they're going to persecute me.' Aiden thought to himself and stepped forward.
"Wingardium Leviosa." Professor Flitwick pointed his wand.
Aiden also quickly raised his wand, "Armor protection."
As the Armor Spell unfolded, Aiden did not feel the spell taking effect on himself, but he still floated up. However, unlike the normal levitation spell, the ground under Aiden's feet lifted him up quickly.
Professor Flitwick shook his wand, canceling the spell, and Aiden fell from the air, but fortunately he didn't float high.
"Do you understand?" Professor Flitwick asked.
"Yes, Professor," Aiden said.
"Now you know, a duel is not limited to powerful spells. A qualified wizard needs precise control of the surrounding environment." Professor Flitwick taught.
Next was the illumination spell. The professor chanted the spell and a tiny light source lit up in front of his wand.
"What's the use of this?" Edmund was a little curious.
"Come and try?" Professor Flitwick raised his eyebrows.
Ethan and Oliver were laughing nearby.
Edmund walked forward and cast a levitation spell on Professor Flitwick, trying to lift the ground under Professor Flitwick's feet in the same way.
However, Professor Flitwick rolled over and dodged Edmund's attack.
"Positioning, gentlemen, is crucial in a duel. And, of course, spells."
Professor Flitwick flicked his wand and said, "Lumos Solem"
A beam of light flew out from the tip of Professor Flitwick's wand, drew an arc in the air, and flew in front of Edmund. Then Professor Flitwick hooked his wand, and the brightness of the light instantly increased.
"Flash bomb, you naughty brother." Aiden dubbed Professor Flitwick.
Edmund was successfully blinded by Professor Flitwick and rolled on the ground with his eyes covered.
"This is a spellcasting technique I created. You should memorize the spell first. After you can cast it, I will teach you how to increase its strength. Aiden can try it." After saying this, Professor Flitwick asked several people to practice on their own.
Ethan and his friend watched carefully, and then took turns trying to cast these spells. Under the guidance of Professor Flitwick, they gradually mastered the skills.
After trying for a while, Aiden learned how to operate Professor Flitwick.
"First suppress the power of the spell, then fire it. When the spell reaches the enemy, release the suppression. It will burst out with greater power like a spring."
"Yes, Aiden, you have mastered this technique." Professor Flitwick praised.
"But, I hope you can learn this way of thinking. After all, no matter how good your fighting routine is, it is fixed and will be studied thoroughly and targeted by others. Only by relaxing your thinking can you be invincible."
"Is magic free..." Aiden pondered silently.
After the training, Professor Flitwick encouraged: "Well done, kids. Practice more and your combat skills will continue to improve."
Everyone thanked the professor, exited the hazy fantasy, and returned to reality with a lot of gains.
