Chapter 54: A Cave Appears Out of Nowhere

The storm in the sky comes suddenly——

A powerful heat wave swept in with sand and gravel. Fortunately, Gu Yihui, Luo Bingyang and Tutwala hid under the protection of the hills, otherwise they would have ended up like the sand and gravel in the air.

In the storm, the vision became even more blurred, and even a layer of wind and sand could not get through. The rolled-up sand and stones hit the mask of the protective suit, dripping like a shower of rain.

In a small cave, Tutwala kept sending messages in an attempt to get in touch with the plane. He complained and pressed his watch, but the messages he sent remained unaffected: "Strange, why is the communication interrupted?"

"It's probably because of the storm." Luo Bingyang looked at the raging wind and rocks outside, with a hint of helplessness in his tone, "We don't have much oxygen left."

After saying that, he turned his head to look at Gu Yihui, who had been standing under the cave wall and silently looking at his watch, then walked up to him and asked, "Why do you keep looking at your watch?"

"Wait."

Gu Yihui said calmly with no expression of sadness or joy.

"What are you waiting for?"

When the two heard this, they both looked puzzled.

"time."

Gu Yihui was very frugal with his words and his expression remained the same.

time?

The two were confused again after hearing this, and didn't understand what Gu Yihui meant by waiting for time.

A moment later - when the momentum of the storm gradually faded, a light suddenly flashed in Gu Yihui's eyes, and then he quickly left the cave.

Seeing this, Luo Bingyang was about to call out to him, but this guy stood up and took a few steps before starting to run outside. Without having time to think, he followed him.

Tutwala was shocked to see two people running out of the cave, and hurriedly shouted: "Hey, the storm hasn't stopped yet, are you going to die if you go out now?!"

However, the two men seemed not to have heard it, and still ran out of the cave chasing each other. Tutwala had a conflicted look on his face for a few breaths, and finally he raised his butt and caught up with the two men.

Even though the storm had passed, the wind outside showed no signs of abating. Sand and stones of all sizes were carried by the strong wind and hit the protective clothing of the three people, making a rustling sound.

The three of them hunched over, walking with difficulty in the strong wind and heat. No one knew where Gu Yihui was going, so they just kept walking forward one after another.

Luo Bingyang took slightly faster steps and barely caught up with him. Enduring the pain of sand and stones hitting his body, he asked, "Why did you run out!"

"If we don't come out now, it will be difficult to find the scientific research base after the storm passes."

Luo Bingyang was completely confused, and Tutwala behind him also looked bewildered.

"What do you mean?"

Gu Yihui did not answer Luo Bingyang's question, and continued to move forward against the wind.

Seeing that he had no intention of answering, the two people behind him had no choice but to follow.

"So, where is he going?" Tutwala thought Gu Yihui was crazy. "We are running out of oxygen."

"How should I know?" Luo Bingyang shook his head.

As he walked, Gu Yihui suddenly stopped again like he did before, and his eyes were always fixed on one place.

Gu Yihui's stop allowed Luo Bingyang and Tutwala to catch up with him, but the next second after catching up, before they had time to ask, they followed his gaze and saw a huge cave suddenly appearing on the vast plains of Venus.

After a slight hesitation, Luo Bingyang opened his eyes with a hint of surprise and asked, "What is this?"

"base."

With his eyes slightly narrowed, Gu Yihui stared at the cave for a few breaths with deep meaning, and then continued to walk towards the cave.

Although no one knew how he discovered this place, nor why he knew that this cave was the scientific research base, from the moment Gu Yihui took his first step, Luo Bingyang did not hesitate for a second and followed resolutely.

"Hey, wait for me!"

Coming to his senses, Tutwala quickly chased after the two people who were walking away.

After a while, the three people walked into the cave. The wind gradually weakened after they came in until it disappeared.

"This hole is so big!"

From a distance, one cannot get a sense of the actual size of the cave entrance until one gets closer. One can see that the cave is spacious and flat, with a top made of hard bright yellow rock, about 20 to 30 meters high.

After surveying the surroundings, the three of them indeed found some human-made detection instruments around the cave. Although they were half buried by sand, it also made them clear that this huge cave was the location of the Venus scientific research base.

The three of them gathered at the entrance of the cave.

"How do you know this is a scientific research base?" Luo Bingyang asked curiously.

After three breaths of contemplation, Gu Yihui raised his eyes, looked at him with a slightly cold gaze, and asked instead of answering: "Do you think that with the current level of human technology, it is possible to build a large base suitable for survival in this environment?"

He obviously talked a lot more, but his questions also stumped Luo Bingyang.

I fell into deep thought, looking at the extreme climate outside the cave, and thinking of the mummy half buried in the sand. The environment on Venus is indeed not suitable for human survival.

Before Luo Bingyang could answer, Gu Yihui continued, "Since I entered that area, I noticed that the sand under my feet was flowing."

"Flowing?"

"Ah."

Gu Yihui nodded slightly, "Adding to that the half-buried corpse found in the dust, I am even more certain of my guess."

"What do you mean?" Luo Bingyang asked with a frown on his face.

"Because of the storm, this piece of sand and dust just moved here not long ago, so the cave entrance and nearby machinery were buried by the sand and dust."

"The storm appeared, the sand and dust were blown away, and the base was revealed from the sand and dust."

"..."

As they chatted, Tutwala came over from outside and interrupted their conversation. A hint of disappointment appeared in his bright eyes. He said, "We still can't contact EX-J."

"Our oxygen can only last for 30 minutes at most. What should we do?"

Gu Yihui stood up and looked towards the depths of the cave. Looking at the dim darkness, he walked straight in without saying a word.

Tutwala showed an expression of disbelief, pointing at Gu Yihui, his eyes widened as big as copper bells, and the words were stuck in his neck and he couldn't speak.

Is Gu Yihui crazy? He wants to keep going inside! ?

Luo Bingyang spread his hands helplessly, and then followed him in.

"I rely on."

"You two are so disloyal. You didn't even call me before you left!"

When Tutwala was still fiddling with his watch trying to get in touch with EX-J, when he looked up, this familiar scene happened to him again. He felt a little annoyed and didn't know where to vent, so he could only follow them in anger.

The three entered the cave, and the storm outside gradually dissipated. Soon, an EX-J sped across the surface of Venus.

The person who came was the team captain Xiangyu Hanyu.
