Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 71 Summer Vacation Begins

At the beginning of summer vacation, the hustle and bustle of Hogwarts still seemed to linger in her ears, but Salina was already in the Swinburne family's ancient manor in the English countryside. This historic building had a tranquil atmosphere.

Salina spent most of her time in her room. She had turned a corner of the room into a small potion studio, with bottles and jars filled with colorful potions, emitting strange smells.

Sharina sat cross-legged on the soft carpet, frowning as she tried to practice the brain block technique. In her hand, she tightly grasped a silver memory ball, which was a gadget she bought from Diagon Alley, and it was said that it could help wizards clear their minds.

But no matter how hard Salina tried, those chaotic thoughts would never go away.

"Huh..." Salina let out a long breath and lay down weakly on the carpet. The silver memory ball slipped from her hand and rolled several times on the ground.

"It seems that brain occlumency is much more difficult than I thought." Salina whispered to herself.

Compared to meditation, potions obviously attracted her more attention. In order to prepare the magic potion required for Animagus transformation, Salina searched for many books on potions, some of which were even older than those in the Hogwarts library.

She carefully weighed each medicinal ingredient and followed the steps in the book step by step. The liquid in the crucible changed color as the flames danced, emitting a strange fragrance. However, just at the last step before success, the liquid medicine suddenly boiled up, and then quickly returned to silence. Looking at the failed potion in the pot, Salina could only sigh helplessly.

This was the third time she had failed to configure a magic spell this summer. Some rare magic materials were not easy to buy even in Diagon Alley, not to mention that she couldn't use magic openly yet.

In the evening, Errol the owl brought Ginny's letter.

"Dear Salina, you will never imagine where we are now! Egypt! Pyramids! Sphinx! Dad finally agreed to take us on a spontaneous trip, you really should come and see..."

After introducing the journey, Ginny told her other friends at the end of the letter: "Hermione went to France. I heard there are many ancient magical relics there. I really envy her... By the way, did you receive Harry's letter? It seems that he has been grounded by the Dursleys again and cannot go out during the summer vacation..."

Although she felt sympathy for the unfortunate child Harry, Salina now had more important things to do.

With the arrival of the last package, Salina finally gathered all the materials to make the magic-enhancing potion.

……

After carefully dropping the last drop of African tree snake skin extract into the crucible, the deep red potion suddenly emitted a golden glow, and a strange fragrance filled the entire room. Salina stared at the crucible with joy. She had finally successfully prepared the magic-enhancing potion.

The potion exudes a pearly luster and looks like a work of art in the glass bottle.

Salina took a deep breath, picked up the bottle of magic-enhancing potion that she had successfully brewed, and after carefully confirming the steps of the Animagus transformation once again, she closed her eyes and drank the potion in one gulp.

The moment the potion entered her mouth, Salina felt a burning sensation from her throat straight to her stomach, and then a powerful magical power rushed through her body. She could feel the blood flow in her veins accelerated, and her heartbeat became faster and faster, as if there was a power in her body that was about to burst out.

After a brief period of adjustment, Salina took a deep breath, closed her eyes, concentrated her mind, and imagined the fox's lively appearance under the moonlight.

The magic power in her body began to surge, and she seemed to hear the crackling sound of bones rubbing against each other in her ears. Accompanied by a sharp pain, her body began to change.

The limbs gradually contracted, the fingers turned into sharp claws, the cheeks lengthened, and the nose protruded forward, turning into a wet fox nose.

She felt dizzy, and the familiar room in front of her began to spin, and the furniture turned into distorted light and shadows.

When the dizziness gradually subsided, Salina opened her eyes and found herself lying on the floor, her body becoming extremely light.

Salina successfully transformed into a snow-white little fox, with soft fur shining like moonlight.

……

In the night of London, the air was filled with a damp earthy smell. The little white fox transformed by Selina nimbly shuttled through the streets and alleys, and the moonlight gilded a layer of silver on her snow-white fur.

She had never felt the atmosphere of this city so clearly: the aroma of butter in the bakery, the sour smell of rotten fruit in the trash can, and even the bitter smell of cheap beer on the drunkard in the distance...all of this was infinitely magnified under her keen fox senses.

Salina jumped onto a low wall and looked down at this strange world. The houses on both sides of the street became unusually tall in her eyes, and the pedestrians passing by looked like clumsy giant creatures to her.

She tentatively stretched out her claws and scratched the rough brick wall a few times, and a sense of novelty came over her heart.

"Is this what it feels like to be a fox?" Salina secretly rejoiced in her heart, "Although I can't use magic, this feeling of freedom is not bad."

She leaped and landed lightly next to a pile of trash cans. She sniffed curiously and then shook her head in disgust.

"It seems that even though I've become a fox, I still don't like the smell of garbage."

Just as Salina was about to leave, suddenly, a tall black shadow came running towards her from a distance at an astonishing speed.

It was a huge black dog, almost as big as a pony, and it walked with great strength, its muscles rolling under its fur.

Salina was shocked by the speed and strength of the black dog, and out of curiosity, she decided to follow it to see what was happening.

The black dog was running through the dark alley, it seemed to be avoiding something, its route was tortuous and hidden. Salina followed closely behind, her flexible body moving freely through the narrow passage, but she could not shorten the distance between her and the black dog.

"Who is this guy?" Salina wondered, "Is he a magical creature?"

During the chase, they soon arrived at a secluded street.

At the same time, Harry, who had just run away from the Dursleys, stood alone on an unfamiliar street. He didn't know where to go or what to do, and hesitated whether to contact Sharina.

"Selina should still be in the country estate now. If I contact her rashly, will it cause trouble for her?" Harry was filled with anxiety and uneasiness. "But, what should I do now?"
