Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 210 Announcement

An unprecedented atmosphere of tension permeated the Hogwarts Castle. Ever since the end of the Triwizard Tournament, rumors about the return of "that person" had been spreading quietly among the students like a ghost.

Although the news of Voldemort's resurrection had not yet been made public, everyone in the castle seemed to smell a hint of unease, and fear spread among the crowd like a plague.

The students gathered together, whispering various rumors coming from outside the school, wondering whether the terrifying name had really become a reality again.

Minister of Magic Fudge still stubbornly believed that Voldemort's return was just a lie made up by Dumbledore and refused to acknowledge this terrible fact.

Harry and the other two gathered together and discussed quietly. Hermione said that Dumbledore was ready and would choose the right time to announce the truth to everyone, even if Fudge and the Ministry of Magic tried to obstruct him in every way.

"Fudge is going too far!" Hermione said angrily. "He was able to become Minister thanks to the support of Headmaster Dumbledore, and now they treat him like this!"

Ron also echoed indignantly, "Fudge is just a stubborn old fogey. My dad worked at the Ministry of Magic, but he was transferred to an irrelevant department just because he said that Headmaster Dumbledore was right!"

Hagrid said sullenly, "He just doesn't dare to face the reality. He just wants to maintain his pitiful rule. Does he think that if he doesn't recognize Voldemort, people won't panic? He is really deceiving himself!"

He took a big gulp of pumpkin juice and said firmly, "We must face reality and fight bravely! Professor Dumbledore is right, we can't just sit there and wait for death!"

"Hagrid," Harry couldn't help but ask in a low voice, "What on earth was it that made Professor Dumbledore look for you and Madame Maxime alone before?"

Hagrid was stunned for a moment, looked around, and said in a low voice: "Harry, this matter must be kept secret for now. I can only tell you that Professor Dumbledore sent us to give the giant a message."

"Send a message to the giant?" Ron's eyes widened. "Why?"

"Don't ask so many questions, Ron," Hagrid said, taking another sip of pumpkin juice. "Anyway, Professor Dumbledore hopes that the giants can join us, and Madame Maxime will go with us. They are now gathering near Sicily, which is the birthplace and last place of survival of the giants."

Hermione frowned slightly and added seriously, "Sicily is an autonomous region of Italy. It is the largest island in the Mediterranean."

As she spoke, she glanced at Harry and Ron. Seeing that they were both listening attentively, she continued, "Sicily is a very prosperous island and has been an important hub of trade since ancient times. However, in Muggle mythology, it is famous for producing giants."

Hermione's tone became mysterious when she spoke of this. "Legend has it that there lives a dangerous sea monster called Scylla on the island, as well as Charybdis, a whirlpool monster in the nearby waters. Scylla is a distant relative of mermaids, and she will confuse sailors with her beautiful singing and then devour them."

She paused, as if trying to ease the atmosphere. "However, since the International Federation of Magicians has strengthened the management of this sea area, the tragedy of Scylla eating people has been greatly reduced. But the whirlpool in reality is still very dangerous, and ships are often sucked into it and disappear."

Hermione took a deep breath and continued, "I read in a book that the huge whirlpools in the waters near Sicily were actually caused by ancient magic. It is said that the remains of ancient warlocks are hidden deep in them."

She lowered her voice and said, "It's very dangerous there. No one who goes in survives, and even the bodies can't be found."

After listening to Hermione's words, Hagrid stroked his messy beard and nodded approvingly: "Well, Hermione said it very comprehensively..."

He paused, as if he suddenly remembered something, his eyes lit up, and he asked, "By the way, does anyone of you want any souvenirs? Maybe I can bring some back for you on the way."

"You still have time to think about this?!" Ron looked at Hagrid in disbelief, his tone full of surprise and helplessness.

Hermione raised her eyebrows, stared at Hagrid sharply, and said with a hint of teasing: "Madame Maxime has forgiven you?"

Harry couldn't help but interrupt, with a hint of teasing in his tone: "Hagrid, you're not going to treat this as a date between you and Madame Maxime, are you?!"

Hagrid was a little embarrassed by their series of questions. His face turned red, and he waved his hands in panic, muttering, "Oh! You kids are not cute at all..."

As he spoke, he grabbed the pink umbrella on the table, stood up hastily, and walked out while saying, "I'm leaving first. She's leaving for home this afternoon. I have a gift for her, so I have to go back and prepare it as soon as possible."

Hagrid left in a hurry, leaving only a slightly clumsy back.

Harry, Ron and Hermione looked at each other. No one spoke, but there was something strange in the expressions on their faces.

……

In the afternoon, the students from Durmstrang and Beauxbatons waved goodbye and set off on their journey home with memories of the Triwizard Tournament.

The magical ship and carriage they were riding on raised up dust and disappeared at the end of Hogwarts' sight. The originally noisy campus suddenly became empty, and it seemed that even the air had become much quieter.

As night fell, the Hogwarts Great Hall was brightly lit.

The gorgeous banners and magical ceiling that were originally used for decoration are gone, replaced by a solemn atmosphere.

The students were dressed in school uniforms and sat at long tables with serious expressions. The seats were all occupied. Everyone felt the unusual atmosphere and a sense of uneasiness spread in the air.

Headmaster Dumbledore slowly stood up, his wise blue eyes swept over every student, and the hall suddenly fell silent.

His heavy voice broke the silence, announcing to the students the news of Voldemort's resurrection, and admitted that the Ministry of Magic tried to cover up the truth, but he believed that students had the right to know, and only by facing the darkness can they bravely fight it.

As the news came out, the auditorium exploded with students talking about it, with expressions of disbelief written all over their faces.

Some students were horrified, some were angry, and a few Slytherin students were indifferent.

Dumbledore then praised Harry and Cedric for their courage and wisdom in the Triwizard Tournament, in which they successfully escaped from Voldemort, proving that even in the face of evil, courage and kindness are still the power to defeat darkness.

He stressed that in the coming dark period, unity is more important than ever, and only by trusting and supporting each other can we fight against the evil forces.

Dumbledore called on all students to unite, face challenges together and make the right choices.

His speech deeply touched every student and also laid the groundwork for the coming storm.

Dumbledore's speech was like a stone thrown into a calm lake, causing a huge ripple in Hogwarts and the entire wizarding world.

The next day, the Owl Shed at Hogwarts was flooded with letters from parents. Thousands of letters came in, expressing the parents' shock, suspicion and anger at Dumbledore's remarks.

Most parents do not believe that Voldemort has been resurrected, and think that Dumbledore is senile and is exaggerating.

The Ministry of Magic and the Daily Prophet also remained silent on the matter and accused Dumbledore of spreading panic among students. Some parents even asked their children to drop out of school. Only a few members of the Order of the Phoenix and students who believed in Harry expressed support for Dumbledore.

The semester ended in this somewhat chaotic situation, and the little wizards once again welcomed their summer vacation.
