Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 170 Beauxbatons Arrival

For the next week, the entire castle was immersed in a tense and exciting atmosphere.

In preparation for the upcoming Triwizard Tournament, the school was thoroughly cleaned and decorated.

The house-elves were busy as hell, and the professors were also nervously preparing for the competition, striving to make everything perfect.

On the morning of October 10, when the students walked into the auditorium, they were stunned by the scene before them.

The hall was decorated with a new look, with huge banners representing the four colleges hanging from the ceiling, and the walls decorated with the Hogwarts school emblem and various magical decorations.

The long dining table was covered with a snow-white tablecloth and filled with a wide variety of delicious food and fine wines. The entire auditorium was filled with a festive atmosphere.

Fred and George sat at the Gryffindor table, shoveling sausages into their mouths and discussing something in low voices.

"What do you think Bagman is doing? Why has he been avoiding us lately?" Fred asked in a low voice.

"Who knows? Maybe he's afraid that we will ask him to pay back the money?" George guessed.

"But he has clearly paid off the last debt!" Fred said somewhat dissatisfiedly.

Ron, who was sitting opposite them, pricked up his ears curiously and asked, "What are you talking about? What about paying back the money?"

"Nothing, kid, stay out of other people's business!" Fred said unhappily.

"That's right, curiosity kills the cat!" George also echoed.

Ron curled his lips and muttered in dissatisfaction: "He is so mysterious, he must be up to no good!"

Fred and George looked at each other and smiled slyly.

"We heard that as long as we put our names into the Goblet of Fire, we have a chance to be selected."

"Goblet of Fire?" Ron's eyes widened. "What is that?"

"You don't even know the Goblet of Fire?" George pretended to be surprised. "That's the key to deciding the warriors! It is said that it will select the best one from all the applicants based on their abilities and courage."

"Right," Fred continued, "so we have to find a way to submit our names. As long as we are selected, we can become heroes of Hogwarts!"

"But Professor McGonagall said that only students over the age of seventeen can participate in the competition," Ron reminded.

"Of course we know!" Fred waved his hand impatiently, "That's why we have to do it secretly. We can't let Professor McGonagall find out."

"You guys are crazy!" Ron exclaimed in a low voice, "If we get caught, the consequences will be disastrous!"

"Don't worry, we have our own way." George smiled mysteriously and turned to look out the window. "Look, Colin is taking pictures of Cedric again. He's such a loyal fan!"

At this moment, Colin was holding up his camera and taking a lot of photos of Cedric who was practicing spells in the distance.

"Who do you think will be the referee this time?" Colin asked while adjusting the focus.

"It must be a big shot from the Ministry of Magic!" Ginny guessed, "After all, this is a big event in the wizarding world."

"That's right," Hermione pushed up her glasses, "According to Hogwarts, A History of the School, the judging panel for the 1792 tournament was composed of officials from the Ministry of Magic and the principals of the participating schools."

"Wow, Hermione, you know so much!" Ginny looked at her in admiration.

"I just like reading." Hermione smiled faintly and lowered her head to continue eating breakfast.

Fred and George had no interest in their conversation; their minds were focused on how to participate in the Triwizard Tournament.

After breakfast, Hermione ran excitedly to Elsarina and reported to her the latest progress of the House-Elf Rights Promotion Association.

"Elsarina, I have recruited several new members! They all support our philosophy and are willing to fight for the rights of house-elves..."

However, except for Elsalina, everyone else was indifferent to Hermione's topic.

Fred and George turned a deaf ear to it. They were busy figuring out how to circumvent the age limit of the Goblet of Fire.

For the next few days, the classroom was filled with an atmosphere of anticipation and excitement.

Everyone was eager to meet the students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang.

"I wonder how they will come?" Ron asked curiously, holding his chin.

"Perhaps he will come on a broomstick?" speculated Lavender Brown.

"I think Apparition is more likely," said Parvati Patil.

"You are not allowed to Apparate within the Hogwarts grounds. Have you all forgotten?" Hermione reminded helplessly.

"Then how do you think they will come?" Ron asked.

"How should I know?" Hermione rolled her eyes at him. "Anyway, we'll know when the time comes."

Finally, on October 10th, the students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang were arriving.

The afternoon classes ended half an hour early. The students changed into neat school robes and lined up in the foyer, waiting to greet guests.

"Everyone, dress properly!" Professor McGonagall patrolled the team and severely reprimanded those students who were not dressed properly. "Don't make a fool of yourself by making fun of people from other schools!"

All the teachers and students in the school stood in the open space outside the castle, looking forward to the arrival of the guests.

"How do you think they'll show up?" Ron asked excitedly, rubbing his hands.

"I don't know, maybe it will fall from the sky?" Harry guessed.

"Or come out from underground?" Ron said more and more outrageously.

"Stop talking nonsense, Ron!" Hermione couldn't help saying, "They must be using some special means of transportation..."

Before Hermione could finish her words, Professor Dumbledore announced loudly: "The representative from Beauxbatons Academy of Magic has arrived!"

Just as he finished his words, a huge monster slowly flew over the forbidden forest and headed towards the castle.

"Merlin's beard! What is that?" Ron was so surprised that he couldn't close his mouth.

"Is it a dragon? It looks like a fire dragon!" said a Gryffindor junior girl fearfully.

"Don't be silly, a dragon can't fly so smoothly." Another voice retorted, "I think it looks like a flying house!"

As the giant monster got closer, everyone finally saw its true face.

It was a huge powder blue carriage, pulled by twelve winged horses, circling above the castle.

These horses are much larger than ordinary horses and are snow-white except for their manes and wing feathers which have a hint of gold that sparkles in the sun.

"It's a Rune Horse!" Hermione said excitedly, "I've read about it in a book. It's a cross between a Pegasus and a giant horse. It's very rare and the cost of raising it is extremely high."
