Hogwarts Lion Girl

Chapter 114 Fred's New Invention

The next morning, Salina casually tied her long hair into a ponytail. A few strands of hair hung playfully by her ears, swaying gently with her movements.

She was wearing a light blue gown with delicate silver embroidery on the cuffs and collar, which set off her fair skin.

She carried a thick potion notebook and came to an empty classroom on the third floor of the castle, ready to review what Percy had explained yesterday.

This classroom has good lighting. Several tall Gothic windows occupy the entire wall. The warm sunlight shines through the window lattices, giving the old oak desks and chairs a layer of gold.

The classroom was quiet, with only the sound of Salina flipping parchment and the occasional bird chirping outside the window.

She chose a seat by the window and sat down. The sunlight shone through the glass window, casting a mottled shadow on her body.

"Hey, Salina, what are you looking at?" A familiar voice came from her ear with a smile. Salina's heart skipped a beat. The feather pen in her hand uncontrollably drew a crooked ink mark on the parchment, spreading a dark ink stain.

She was startled by the sudden sound and raised her head reflexively. The bright light in front of her eyes dimmed instantly. She blinked instinctively. The warm sunlight shone through the window onto her face, making her thick eyelashes look particularly long.

Only then did Salina see the person in front of her clearly. Fred was standing in front of her. His tall figure blocked some of the sunlight, making the light in front of her eyes flicker.

Fred's face, with a smirk on it, was winking at her at the moment, and the sunlight dancing on his red hair seemed to add some brilliance to his mischief.

"Fred! You scared me to death!" Salina patted her chest and said unhappily.

"Haha, sorry, sorry, I just wanted to joke with you." Fred said, his smile widening, revealing his white teeth.

He blinked and looked at Salina with a cunning look.

Salina felt Fred's gaze on her, as if carrying a ray of sunshine's warmth, which relaxed her originally nervous mood a little.

She looked up in time to see Fred slowly pulling a small furry object from the pocket of his crimson robe.

The little thing danced between his fingers, as if full of vitality. Salina was curious and wanted to see what it was, but Fred shook his wrist and gently threw the furry little thing towards Salina.

The little thing drew a parabola in the air, and with a slight rotation, it flew over the table covered with a dark tablecloth and landed steadily on the table in front of Salina.

As soon as it touched the table, it quickly curled up into a furry ball, rolled a few times on the floor, making a slight friction sound, and then lay quietly next to the parchment that Salina spread out.

Salina looked at the little ball curiously, then raised her head to look at Fred in confusion.

Suddenly, the ball exploded and turned into a grinning rubber mouse, making a sharp cry.

Salina was startled by this sudden change. She leaned back slightly and instinctively grabbed the edge of the table with both hands.

She widened her eyes and looked at the rubber mouse that suddenly appeared in front of her in surprise, her heart beating violently in her chest.

When she realized it was just a toy mouse, she couldn't help but burst out laughing.

Seeing this, Fred also laughed out loud. "How about my new invention? Isn't it good?"

Salina smiled and shook her head, her ponytail swaying gently with her movements, sparkling in the sunlight.

She picked up the feather pen and habitually tapped the table with the pen, making a crisp "thump thump" sound. This guy always has a way of making people laugh and cry.

She raised her clear eyes, looked at Fred with a teasing smile, and said, "Are you studying those weird things again? Be careful or Professor McGonagall will catch you and take you to her office for tea."

Fred shrugged disapprovingly. He reached out to tidy up his messy red hair, with a confident smile on his face and a sly gleam in his eyes. "Don't worry, we are fully prepared. Professor McGonagall will never find me."

As he spoke, his eyes crossed the table and fell on Salina's spread-out potion notes.

"Hey, are you studying? Let me see what you are looking at..." Fred said with a long tone and a somewhat joking tone.

His eyes stayed on Salina's beautiful handwriting for a second, then he raised his head and blinked at Salina.

Salina noticed Fred's gaze, and she subconsciously pressed her hand on the notes, with a hint of vigilance in her eyes.

Fred watched Serena's actions and the smile on his face grew even bigger.

He slowly stretched out his hand, and his slender fingers reached towards Salina's notebook, as if he wanted to take it.

Salina quickly closed the notebook with a "snap" sound, then pulled the notebook towards herself, looked at Fred warily, and asked, "What do you want to do?"

"Don't be so stingy, I just want to see what you are learning." Fred withdrew his hand, his tone a little aggrieved, but his cunning eyes betrayed his true thoughts.

He reached out his hand again, this time his movements were faster, his fingers deftly reaching for Salina's notes.

Salina was prepared. She slightly turned her body and nimbly dodged Fred's "claws". Then she said unhappily, "Stop it. I'm reviewing the content of the Potions class."

"Potions?" Fred's eyebrows were raised exaggeratedly, and the corners of his mouth twitched, revealing a strange expression, as if he had heard something incredible. "That's my weak point. How about you tell me about it?"

He scratched his messy red hair with his hand, and there was a hint of embarrassment in his tone that he himself was not aware of.

Salina put down the quill in her hand and looked up at him suspiciously, her clear eyes full of doubt, "Are you sure? You are a senior?"

She deliberately emphasized the word "senior" with a hint of teasing in her tone.

Fred cleared his throat and his eyes flickered, as if he was hiding something.

"Hermione has already prepared for the fifth year, so you must be not much behind her." He reached out and pulled a chair over with a creaky sound, then sat down in front of Salina with a carefree attitude. He leaned forward slightly, and his tone suddenly became serious. "Besides... I have suddenly developed a strong interest in potions."

As he spoke, he propped his chin up with his hand, trying to appear studious and motivated.

Seeing that he was rarely serious, Salina patiently explained to him.

Fred seemed to be listening attentively, but in fact his mind was already elsewhere.

He tapped the table lightly with the feather pen in his hand, making a "tap tap" sound, and then he supported his chin with his hand, his eyes were wandering, and occasionally he uttered a few ambiguous exclamations, which made Salina laugh.

"Fred, can you be serious?" Salina stopped explaining and asked helplessly, with a hint of anger in her tone.

"I'm serious." Fred quickly sat up straight and put down the quill in his hand, but his eyes involuntarily fell on Salina's face.

The sunlight shines through the ancient glass windows, casting mottled shadows in the library, and also happens to cast a layer of golden halo on her face, making her look particularly gentle and moving.

Her fair skin seemed transparent under the sunlight, and you could see the tiny blood vessels underneath.

Fred was a little dazed as he watched. The voice of Salina explaining potion knowledge in his ears gradually became blurred, with only the occasional bird calls outside the window.

He stretched out his hand as if possessed, and his fingertips gently touched a strand of hair by her ear. The soft touch made his heart tremble slightly.

"Your hair is so pretty," Fred murmured, with a hint of tenderness in his tone that he himself was not aware of.

Salina was stunned for a moment, a faint blush appeared on her cheeks, and her heartbeat inexplicably quickened.

She subconsciously tried to dodge, but she seemed to be under a spell and sat there motionless.

The classroom suddenly became quiet, and the ancient clock pendulum made a slight ticking sound, as if reminding the passage of time.

Only the sound of birds singing outside the window can be clearly heard, occasionally accompanied by the rustling of leaves, making the classroom seem even quieter and more peaceful.
