Chapter 279 The Magic You Just Used
Lin Nan carefully checked every corner. She opened the drawer of the desk and found some old batteries and a small charger. Although these things looked a bit old, they might still be useful.
"Emily, I found some batteries and a charger in the study!" Lin Nan shouted excitedly.
Emily came running over with a glimmer of hope on her face. "Great! Let me see if these can be used."
She took the batteries and charger that Lin Nan had found and examined them carefully. "These batteries still have some power, and the charger looks like it can still be used. We can give it a try."
The two then continued to search other rooms. Lin Nan found an old laptop charger in the bedside table in the bedroom, while Emily found some spare power cords and a portable power adapter in the storage room.
"Maybe these things can help." Emily said, with a hint of excitement in her voice.
Lin Nan nodded, and they gathered the items they found on the table in the living room and began to sort and check each device. They connected the backup power cord to the charger and then inserted the battery into the power port of the time controller.
The screen of the time controller flickered, and then displayed a charging symbol. The two stared at the screen, praying in their hearts that everything would go smoothly.
"I hope these batteries can provide enough power." Lin Nan whispered, watching the progress bar rise nervously.
A few minutes later, the time controller showed that charging was complete and the power indicator reached a relatively stable level. Lin Nan and Emily breathed a sigh of relief and smiled with relief on their faces.
"It worked!" Emily said excitedly, "Although these things are old, they really work."
Lin Nan nodded, feeling a sense of accomplishment. Although this was a temporary solution, at least they had temporarily solved the problem of insufficient power.
"We have to bring these things back as soon as possible to ensure the energy supply of the time controller." Lin Nan said, and she began to pack up the useful equipment.
Emily was also busy packing up her belongings. They packed all the power equipment and tools they found into their backpacks and quickly left the house. Although the outside world was still full of dangers and uncertainties, their hearts were full of hope.
When they returned to the safe area, Anthony saw the equipment they brought back and smiled approvingly. "You did a great job. These things will be of great help."
Lin Nan and Emily quickly connected the found equipment to the time controller to ensure that it could continue to operate. Anthony began to debug the time controller and check the stability of the power supply.
"Although the energy provided by these batteries is limited, it is enough for us to deal with the current emergency," said Anthony, his expression seeming a little more relaxed.
Lin Nan looked at the time controller that was functioning normally, and her heart was filled with determination. Although the road ahead was still full of challenges, they knew that as long as they persevered and united, they would definitely find a way to return to the original timeline and save this planet that was about to be destroyed.
Lin Nan and Emily carefully searched for power equipment in the house. Although they found some old batteries and chargers, they did not realize that there were still people living here. Just as they collected the items they found in the living room, a low cough broke the silence of the room.
Lin Nan and Emily were stunned and exchanged nervous glances. The sound came from the other side of the room. Lin Nan tried to stay calm and raised her hand to signal Emily to keep quiet.
"Is anyone there?" Lin Nan asked softly, hoping to get a peaceful response.
However, what responded to her was an angry voice, "Who let you in? Get out!"
Then, a figure rushed out from the dark corner. It was an old woman with white hair, holding a heavy iron rod in her hand. Her eyes were full of hostility and anger, and she obviously regarded Lin Nan and Emily as intruders.
"We have no ill intentions, we just want to find some power equipment." Emily explained quickly, trying to calm the old woman's anger.
But the old woman obviously didn't intend to listen to their explanation. She swung the iron rod and hit the two of them fiercely. Lin Nan and Emily were startled by the sudden attack and quickly retreated to try to avoid it, but the old woman's movements were unexpectedly swift.
Lin Nan tried to block it, but was hit on the shoulder by the iron rod, and the pain made her stumble back. Emily was also hit on the leg, and fell to the ground with an unstable center of gravity.
"Get out! You are not welcome here!" the old woman shouted loudly and waved the iron rod again to force them to leave.
Lin Nan and Emily realized they couldn't fight the old woman, so they quickly stood up, grabbed the batteries and equipment they found, and rushed out the door. The old woman chased them until they were completely out of her sight.
"Hurry up!" Lin Nan panted and pulled Emily to continue running towards the safe area.
When they stood on the original timeline again, they found that the world had returned to peace. The mission of the time controller was completed, the cracks in time and space were repaired, and everything was back on track.
"We finally succeeded." Lin Nan said with emotion, his heart filled with a sense of accomplishment.
Irene looked at Lin Nan with a smile, "Yes, we not only saved the world, but also discovered our own courage and wisdom."
The train sped through the night, and Lin Nan and Irene finally had some time to relax. The lights in the carriage were dim, and the whispers of the passengers around them and the click of the wheels intertwined to create a quiet atmosphere.
Lin Nan looked out the window. The twinkling stars in the night sky made her thoughts a little hazy. Irene sat opposite her and broke the silence.
"Lin Nan, do you think we can complete the mission successfully?" Irene asked softly, with a hint of uneasiness in her tone.
Lin Nan turned his head, his eyes gleaming with determination. "We must complete it. This is our mission and our responsibility. No matter what difficulties we encounter, we must persevere."
Irene nodded, was silent for a while, and then asked: "The magic you just used was really powerful. How did you learn all that?"
Lin Nan smiled and replied, "My parents are both magicians. They taught me all kinds of magic since I was a child. I learned a lot from them and also know the power and responsibility of magic."
"I can see that you don't just rely on magic. Your wisdom and courage are equally important." Irene said approvingly.
Lin Nan nodded. "Magic is just a tool. What really matters is how we use it and our determination and faith when facing difficulties."
