Chapter 231 Temptation and Desire

As she has lived in Mondstadt for a longer time, although Fina's undercover identity is secret, she must have been noticed because she had to go to the Fools' stronghold twice before.

On the seventh day after arriving in Mondstadt, she met a man at the Cat Tail Tavern.

The man's name was Kaia.

"This is Miss Fina, right? I really have a name that I have admired for a long time."

For an undercover agent, "Long admired name" is a bad enough greeting.

Fina asked cautiously: "Who are you?"

"I am Kaia, the cavalry captain of the Knights of the West Wind." Kaia has dark skin, looks very unmundane, and wears an eyepatch on his face.

Frankly speaking, this kind of appearance would never be allowed among fools.

Rather than a well-trained army, this look looks more like a member of a treasure thief group - if he hadn't seen the eye of God.

Out of some intuition that she had spent among the Fools for many years, Fina had a premonition that her identity had attracted attention.

Perhaps the Knights of the West Wind have always been wary of the fools stationed in Mondstadt, so even though Fina pretended to be in Mondstadt, she spent seven days trying to find out if there was any suspicious person settling in Mondstadt at such a coincidental time. It's a breeze.

But she said nothing.

She just covered her lips in surprise like an ordinary person being accosted and said, "Has someone like Mr. Kaia actually heard of me? What an honor."

No, she didn't feel honored at all.

Kaia swung the glass and took a sip of Diona's special drink, as casually as chatting with her drinking buddies - even if Fina just came to the Cat Tail Tavern to look after the cats.

He said: "No, Miss Fina is more eye-catching than you think."

Fina looked slightly sideways.

The cavalry captain held his head with one hand, and the smile that was hidden behind his eyes was well disguised, but Fina had been among the Fools for many years, and she could see this superficial politeness at a glance.

"Thank you for your compliment." She said nonchalantly, "What a coincidence, I happened to see the duty hours of the Knights of the West Wind before. If I remember correctly... Mr. Kaia is here now... he skipped work. ?"

Kaia: "Do you even know the duty hours of the Knights of the West Wind? Miss Fina seems to be very concerned about this."

"No way." The smooth fur of the cat under her hand made her couldn't help but touch it many times. Fina's tone did not change and she just replied lightly, "I told you it was just a coincidence."

Kaia didn’t know whether to believe it or not.

Fina didn't care whether he believed it or not.

"If nothing happens, I'll go back first."

She put the cat down, then stood up and walked away.

Kaia looked at her leaving back thoughtfully.

A few moments later, Kaia's real drinking buddy arrived.

Rosalia sat next to him and asked casually: "How is it?"

"It's a bit strange." He told the truth, "It feels like she doesn't care... Is it an illusion?"

*

"Miss Fina, what would you like to order?"

"A barbecue steak, please. Thank you."

After coming out of the Cat Tail Tavern, Fina went straight to the Deer Hunter Restaurant.

The boss is a very good person. When she first arrived, Fina was introduced to many delicious foods by the boss.

It has to be said that this is much richer than the dishes that Foolish People can choose from.

After finishing packing the dishes, she finished eating in the store, then walked aimlessly, and inadvertently came to the square where the statue of the God of Winds stood.

The bard Wendy, who was relatively familiar with her, was sitting under the statue and playing a new tune.

Out of some state of mind that she couldn't figure out...perhaps out of curiosity, or perhaps recalling the feeling of listening to the music alone that night before, she walked to the bard surrounded by the crowd.

The hat that was originally on his head was turned over and placed on the ground not far away, and the meaning was very obvious.

But Wendy didn't seem to care much about who gave money or how much. He just closed his eyes slightly and spoke slowly according to the story he wanted to tell.

Then the story tells about an ancient dragon.

Fina didn't know much about it, but that didn't stop her from finding the melody pleasant.

Although she may not be able to understand the freedom in the tune, the more a person lacks something, the more he cares about it.

Even if she has gone through training, she will unconsciously pause for such a melody.

...definitely just a quick stop.

You can only stay for a while.

But that's enough.

After standing in the crowd and listening for a long time, until the story was over and Wendy stopped playing, Fina finally took a few steps forward and took out a lot of mola.

"Good to hear ."

Wendy chuckled: "Of course, this is a piece I carefully arranged."

"At the end of the story, was the dragon successfully accepted?"

"It's hard to say..." Wendy touched her chin, "But we can make a wish for that confused dragon."

Like magic, he took out a handful of dandelion seeds from somewhere and handed it to Fina: "If the wish blows with the wind, maybe it can be heard by the gods?"

"If you have any sorrow in your heart, you might as well hide it in the wind and tell it to the gods."

Her emerald green eyes curved into a smile, and Wendy told her gently: "Would you like to try it, Fina? Just like other Mondstadt people."

Fina wanted to refuse.

What is her wish?

She just wanted to live, but if the gods could really hear her wishes, why didn't they come to that desert to save her before she even said she wanted to join the Fools?

Perhaps because there were so many people making wishes, she was placed very far back in the queue, and the gods were really overwhelmed.

But the dandelion seeds were already handed to me, and the rejection I was about to say was stuck in my throat.

The bard possessed the God's Eye of the Wind Element. At the foot of the statue, he activated the elemental power, and a gust of wind rose out of thin air.

Her hand was held directly, and Fina's eyes widened slightly in the panic of suddenly flying into the air.

In the blink of an eye, she was on the palm of the wind god statue.

"Try it? Just think of it as an extra thank you for investing a bunch of money into my show."

His voice was so cheerful that Fina couldn't help but look at him.

"my wish……"

Dandelions all over the sky are rising in the wind.

Fina watched them drifting away silently, and Wendy asked curiously: "Eh? Is it the wish you made in your heart?"

Fina's eyes moved slightly.

She felt the aching flesh and blood under the bandage covered by the wide lace sleeves, and looked into the bard's curious eyes.

"Yes." She showed a faint smile that showed no problem at all, "My wish has been whispered to the gods in my heart."

No, she didn't make any wishes.
