Chapter 703: Seeing Lily Again

The billowing flames illuminated the way ahead, and the whistling Cruciatus Curse passed by.

Harry's right hand was pulled so hard that it hurt. His legs were tumbling rapidly and he stumbled towards the woods.

Professor Snape was half a body length ahead, and his speed was incredibly fast. I hadn't noticed before that his legs were so long.

She glanced back hastily and saw Bellatrix chasing her closely from behind. Her face looked hideous as she sprinted forward. She wondered if she would get a stitch in the side while chanting the spell. After all, they were relatives without any blood relationship. It would be best if she could fall down and use her body as a speed bump for the Death Eaters behind her to help them escape the pursuit.

"You run ahead, and I'll take on the curse."

"Good professor."

Harry was out of breath from running and could barely recite a spell, so he gave up. "Professor, is it really okay for Loren to stay alone to fight Voldemort? Or should we go back?"

"Stupid, a burden."

Calling him an idiot is because it is impossible to go back in this situation.

The reason why he is a burden is that he can't help even if he goes back.

The Potions Master's words were sharp, but not very clean.

Snape waved his wand quickly, scattering invisible blades and dark green light. Although the hasty casting reduced the power, the invisible and intangible blades could often splash blood, making one or two Death Eaters lose the ability to pursue. The improved Killing Curse was even more bizarre, and even if it was blocked or shattered by other spells, the remaining breath of death could make the Death Eaters timid.

Not all Death Eaters were as desperate as Bellatrix. Lucius, Rookwood, Old Nott and others were more like fishing in troubled waters, releasing spells at will, not hitting the fleeing people, and the branches along the way were blown away.

One magic wand fought against dozens of magic wands, and for a moment it actually had the upper hand.

The two sides gradually distanced themselves from each other.

As they were running away in a hurry, a brilliant red light suddenly appeared from behind, illuminating the way ahead even through the dense branches and leaves. Then there was a loud bang and a noticeable vibration came from the ground.

Harry was startled, and Snape was also stunned for a moment. His expression instantly became serious. He turned his head and saw a rainbow afterimage that penetrated the sky was gradually dissipating.

The Death Eaters chasing behind also saw it, and then a series of air explosion sounds were heard in the woods.

Harry was very familiar with the sound, and asked in confusion, "They Apparated away, why?"

"Because Voldemort is calling."

Snape stared into the distance, his left hand resting on the outside of his right forearm, where the Dark Mark was emitting a scorching temperature.

"The battle is over!" Harry opened his eyes wide and reacted quickly, "Then Loren..."

Snape glanced at him, without disguising his contempt for his intelligence. "If something happened to Loren, it could only be because Voldemort caught up with him. Now that he summoned the Death Eaters to leave, it can only prove that something happened to him."

"..."

Harry opened his mouth, his first reaction was to look at him with disdain, but then he reacted and couldn't help but exclaimed: "Loren defeated Voldemort!?"

"Because Dumbledore is there too."

"Dumbledore?"

"You don't think Loren was the only one who saw you leave the castle?"

"..."

Without the Death Eaters chasing them, the two men stopped running and rested instead.

Snape said nothing, Harry slowly took a breath, secretly glanced at his mottled gray hair, unconsciously, the disgust and even hatred accumulated over the past few years has disappeared. When did it change?

Perhaps it was when he learned that the Half-Blood Prince was Snape.

Perhaps it was when he saw Snape wave his wand at Voldemort.

Or maybe it was when Snape asked him to run ahead.

Harry decided to say something: "Professor, regarding the ritual of resurrection..."

"I will start preparing again."

Although Snape tried his best to restrain himself and maintain a calm tone, one could still hear some emotional fluctuations in his voice.

Harry fell silent, and silence began to fill the woods.

After about a few minutes, rustling footsteps were heard not far away, and two familiar figures slowly walked out of the woods. There were basically no signs of fierce fighting on the two of them, and it was completely impossible to tell that they had just defeated the most powerful dark wizard in history.

After a year, Loren finally saw the former Potions Professor face to face. Although his hair color had changed, it was still greasy. His face was expressionless and his eyes were calm, like the surface of a black lake without ripples, and there was even a sense of deathly silence.

A faint silver glow shone through the gaps between the leaves. The half-moon shone obliquely, and Dumbledore's shadow was lengthened and widened, spreading and covering Snape who was resting against the tree, as if it was a metaphorical technique of the mastermind behind the stage dragging people into the darkness.

"Severus."

"..."

"Maybe you should talk to her."

"Who?"

"Lily."

Snape suddenly looked up and saw a half-moon hanging over Dumbledore's right shoulder. Following the faint moonlight, he saw the old man put his right hand into his sleeve, took it out and spread out his palm, with a black gem lying quietly in the palm of his hand.

Snape held his breath, stood up straight and walked to the old man, looking down at the black gem with a crack. A vertical line divided the triangle and the circle. The unique mark instantly reminded him of the legend of the three death brothers of Beedle the Bard. The legendary Deathly Hallows slowly overlapped with the black gem in front of him.

"Summon... the dead."

Snape murmured softly, and he slowly stretched out his right hand, wanting to touch her, but was too frightened to face her.

After thinking it over a thousand times, he still couldn't make up his mind, so Snape turned his head and looked at Harry not far away, wanting him to touch the gem. Just like the previous resurrection ritual, his memory would also be transformed through Harry.

After hesitating for a long time, Snape lowered his eyes. Even if he could not get Lily's forgiveness, he decided to be selfish again, for the last time.

He reached out and grasped the black gem, turning the stone three times in his hand.

A cool breeze blew by, and the scattered dirt on the branches on the forest floor made a sound. The moonlight was attracted and gathered around him, condensing into a soft body.

"Li..."

Snape's lips moved, air passed through his throat, but he couldn't utter a complete word.

Lily's figure was no longer transparent and illusory, but more solid. She put her long hair behind her head and walked in front of Snape and Harry with a gentle expression and her green eyes were clear and bright.

Harry touched his upper and lower lips twice, but no sound came out. He just stared at her face intently, as if he could never see enough.

Loren was concentrating on observing the state of Lily's ghost. He felt Dumbledore beside him gently touching his shoulder. He understood what he meant with just one look, nodded, and quietly followed him to the side, leaving this space for them.
