Chapter 667 Classroom Demonstration

Monday, April 11th.

The first class in the afternoon was Arithmancy. Professor Setima Victor was not affected by the recent turmoil and left a huge amount of homework as usual. The questions were obscure and difficult to understand, and the calculation steps were tedious and complicated. The answer sheet was only three feet long and was expected to consume a whole stack of draft paper.

It's really frustrating.

Fortunately, Loren and Hermione's hair is thick enough and they are still young, so if they fall out, it can grow back. Unlike a certain student named Malfoy from Slytherin College who wishes to remain anonymous, his hairline is worrying at a young age and he will most likely be bald in the future.

After saying goodbye to Professor Victor, the two packed up their bags and headed for the next class, which was Professor Bagshot's Defense Against the Dark Arts.

As one of the pillar subjects of Hogwarts since its establishment, although the turnover rate of professors of this course is high, the teaching quality is unstable, and even unexpected dangers may occur in the classroom, considering the gradually deteriorating situation in the wizarding world, there are still many students who choose to take the Defense Against the Dark Arts advanced class.

On the way to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, students would walk by the two of them from time to time, and would smile and say hello when they met acquaintances. Of course, there were exceptions, such as now, when Parvati gave the two of them a look, and Lavender next to them snorted coldly and pulled her away in a hurry.

Loren turned his head and looked at the little witch: "Are we implicated?"

"Yeah." Hermione nodded helplessly.

"Is Lavender okay?"

"She cried in her dorm last night. When she woke up in the morning, her eyes were so swollen that she couldn't even open them. Parvati had to drag her to the school clinic."

“This is also a kind of luck.”

"Ok?"

"It's better to suffer a short pain than a long one."

"..."

We walked through the corridor chatting and entered the classroom, where we saw Professor Bagshot standing on the podium. His gray hair was neatly combed and shiny, his cheeks were plump and full of flesh, and he looked like a very energetic old man.

Loren sometimes recalled the scene when he first met Grindelwald. His clothes were tattered and full of patches, his beard was scraggly, and even his gums were atrophied. His face looked haggard and he was about to die of old age.

Now I can probably live many more years.

It was not yet time for class, and he was chatting with the students in the front row, mainly answering their questions.

At the beginning, they were just some academic questions, such as the practice techniques of silent spells, how to judge what magic to use based on the characteristics when facing unknown dark magic creatures, and what are the key contents of the Ultimate Wizarding Level Examination... It was a harmonious and lively scene.

Until Justin from Hufflepuff raised his hand and asked, "Professor, Christmas vacation is coming. What should we do if we are attacked by Death Eaters at home?"

The lively communication between teachers and students suddenly became quiet.

Loren and Hermione walked past quietly and sat down on the right side of the second row.

"Oh, this is a classic question. I think many of you would like to know the answer."

The class bell rang at the right time. Grindelwald stood there patiently, waiting for the bell to end before continuing, "If you were in the fifth grade, I would suggest you hide behind your parents or run away immediately, but now you are in the sixth grade, and many of you are already or will soon be 17 years old.

"For wizards, 17 years old means you have become an adult. No one will call you a little wizard anymore. You should adapt to the cruel world of adult wizards.

"If your family decides to resist to the end, you will be the backbone of the battle. If your family decides to give up resistance and flee as soon as possible, you will be the ones who stay behind to cover the retreat.

"There is no best choice. All you can do is fight. Fight with all your might until the crisis is resolved, or... you die!"

The air in the classroom suddenly cooled down after hearing that last word. The students froze in their seats. Many of them thought they were minors receiving shelter, but suddenly they realized they were no longer children. The huge gap made them feel dazed.

"After the Halloween attack, everyone was a little scared and at a loss...

“Fear is not a useless emotion. Appropriate fear can help you realize your potential, but fear without knowing anything can only hinder your progress.

"I think it is necessary to show you a real battle between adult wizards. It is more cruel than you think, but not that difficult."

There was a slight murmur from the audience: "Professor, we had a dueling course before."

"Dueling course?" Grindelwald did not comment and chuckled. "How about this, I'll invite a classmate to come up and demonstrate. Mr. Morgan, please stand in front..."

Facing the gaze of the whole class, Loren tilted his head, picked up his wand, stood up, and walked to the front of the podium.

Grindelwald waved his wand, and the desks and chairs in the classroom, along with the students in their seats, were moved to the wall, leaving a large open space in the middle. This was the battlefield for this exercise.

Ignoring the students' surprised approval of this levitation technique, Grindelwald observed the little guy opposite him.

The choice of Loren Morgan as the rehearsal opponent was a spur-of-the-moment decision, but it was also a long-planned one.

From the first time they met in Nurmengard, Grindelwald had already discovered that this student was unusual. Decades of life in prison without wands had made him particularly sensitive to magic. The magical fluctuations in Loren Morgan's body were abnormally active, even stronger than those of many senior Aurors.

After officially joining Hogwarts, he silently paid attention to Morgan during the usual teaching courses. He performed very well and almost mastered all the spells and casting techniques in the course in advance. As for how far Morgan could achieve, he was not too sure.

Morgan's fire magic is very proficient. He has thoroughly mastered the Fiendfyre and integrated his own understanding into it. He even has the upper hand in the contest of skills with Albus, although Albus is suspected of letting him win.

Grindelwald's fingers twisted slightly around his wand.

Young people with great potential cannot just stick to one type of magic, and a modified Fiendfyre cannot unleash the full potential of that wand.

Loren stood opposite with a relatively calm expression.

Professor Bagshot has an excellent resume. He served as the leader of the Wiccan Party for decades. He is proficient in the Unforgivable Curses such as Avada Kedavra. The biggest project he has organized and planned was to almost burn down the entire Paris. He must be very good at Fiendfyre.

But this is just a classroom demonstration and there should be no danger to life.

Just give it a try with all your strength, and it will help you to test how big the gap is between you and the wizards at the top of the pyramid.

"No need to demonstrate dueling etiquette, just get started," Grindelwald said.

The students watching around couldn't help but get excited, suppressing the urge to shout.

Hermione sat in the corner and watched quietly, her eyes shining.
