Chapter 488: How many beads can fill a thread?

What Xiao Jin said made Wang Guoqiang feel a little embarrassed. The team had just been established, so don't collapse because of this uncertain thing. He was about to persuade him, but He Ping continued:

"Old Xiao, knowing you allowed me to leave public equity funds, and because I met you, I became a partner of a private equity fund. I was fortunate enough to 'escape' the mid-career crisis that many of my friends are going through. Now Work still allows me to realize my self-worth and be passionate about it.”

"Oh! Lao He..."

"Xiao Jin, you know, even at UOB Fund, although I have rich work experience at my age, I am no longer young. I have also witnessed the career status of some of my friends. They are around 40 years old. At this age, I still don’t have a sense of security from my job. I am worried about being laid off and worried about my position being replaced by a new person. In the midst of anxiety, I am looking for a new home together with many people in their 30s and [-]s.”

"In the past, we were all on the same starting line. We worked hard together in the company and became the backbone of the company when we were young. But as I entered middle age, I found that the career types of my friends have become 'diversified' and they have begun to cross paths. The world has done a lot of unexpected things, and the state has become very unstable.”

In terms of career choice, many people are facing a transformation. Those who provide life services include insurance brokers, liquor agents, etc.

In terms of career status, many friends are no longer willing to be screws or old scalpers. They want to change but are very powerless. They can only work while consuming themselves, and they can only beat the clock every day as a monk.

Compared with them, when I left Dahua, it can be said that I completed my career choice earlier. By middle age, my overall status was still in a "rising period."

Looking back, what widened the gap between me and some of my friends and classmates were the various choices in life.

In terms of career line, I have experienced 3 stages and decision points:

The first is the assembly line stage that requires no thinking.I graduated from a provincial key high school, entered a 985 school in college, studied for a master's degree in the United States, and then joined Dahua Foundation. At this stage, I didn't think much about life, and I only vaguely felt that my life needed to be different in the future.

Second, my choice of location after graduation. In terms of country, I chose to return to China from the United States. In terms of city, I chose to go to a big city. These two choices were crucial to the direction of my life.

The third one is job choice. After returning to China, I joined UOB Fund, which is a large company. The characteristic of a large company is that it trains employees to be masters of every aspect.

In fact, I could also choose to be a master of the assembly line in a foreign company, but I realized two problems:

First, the core business of foreign companies in China is not R&D and technology, but sales. I was transferred from a technical position to a sales position. I didn’t want to do it, so I chose a large domestic company.

Second, I observed that in large companies, there are almost no people over 50 years old. If you see people over 45 years old, they are probably in the management, and the grassroots employees are basically all young people. This made me realize at the time Foreign companies don't care for the elderly. They don't need very old people to do in-depth R&D or sales work.

If most of the employees in a company are young people, it means that the industry in which the company is located has relatively low tolerance for age. If no planning is made in advance, a "mid-life crisis" is almost inevitable.

These two "awakenings" gave me the idea of starting a business.

This was the reason why I left Dahua and later joined Qianjin Company.

In fact, I also did an in-depth self-examination and came to the conclusion: starting a business cannot cross industries!Once you cross industries, you will return to the status of a novice in this industry. If you were still a master of "ringing" in a large company before, then starting a business across industries is not even a "bead". How many beads are needed to wear it? A full line?

After reflection, I realized that I could not leave my "core" - engaging in finance.I have been dealing with finance for four years as an undergraduate and two years as a master. I have a very good understanding of the economic situation at home and abroad. In addition, I have been engaged in trading work at Dahua Fund for so many years. I think I still have professional barriers. , I identify myself, of course, in this professional aspect.

To tell you the truth, when I was in Dahua, I started two businesses, both of which were unsuccessful. But I am glad that I did not continue to spend money to fill the hole. Stopping losses is very important.

Some of my friends even sell their houses and start a business. This risk is very high. This is equivalent to turning the asset into cash and then flowing the cash into a new asset. However, the properties of these two assets are completely different. Low risk and one high risk.

Having said that, at this time I entered a new choice period: either continue to invest in stocks, or do the same as you just said, do VC investment, and I really don’t understand VC investment.

Since I have never worked in an investment entity before, it is a completely unfamiliar industry to me. It may take me at least a year to complete several other abilities, such as corporate management and equity law, and investment methodology.

But I know this is really hard for me!

He Ping talked eloquently, but his ultimate intention was that he did not want to participate in the Lianyungang project. Xiao Jin and Wang Guoqiang looked at each other and said nothing more.

According to Xiao Jin's guess, Wang Guoqiang should have had this idea, but He Ping didn't do it, and the two of them did it behind his back, which was a bit bad.

Forget it, just go it alone!

After Xiao Jin learned about this, he suddenly thought of how He Ping's family was not rich when he wanted to increase the registered capital. After he took out 200 million, it was difficult to get any more money.

Oops, by the way, why does He Ping always run here recently?

"Lao He, how are you doing with Shi Yuzhen? Is the investment there going well?!"

It's okay that Xiao Jin didn't ask. This question just touched on He Ping's pain point.

"Oh, this Shi family is really difficult to deal with!" He Ping said no more.

This made Xiao Jin anxious, "You should tell me!"

"Haha, don't you know her too? Just ask her directly!"

"Eh? There's something going on!"

Xiao Jin finally realized the problem, and it seemed that it was time to pay a visit to the eldest lady of the Shi family.
